    Do you have a left handed version of this video? If you are left handed, you can convert ANY video on RUclips yourself! Simply go to www.mirrorthevideo.com/ and follow the instructions to mirror flip any video to convert to left handed!
    How much yarn will I need? This is a very tricky question to answer as there are so many variables! How much yarn you need will depend on which yarn you choose, the thickness of that yarn, your tension and how large you want your finished project to be. I suggest making a small sample first so you can gauge how much yarn you'll need. If making a crochet square, you can weigh your finished square to work out how much yarn it used!
    How many squares do I need for a blanket? That all depends on the size of the square you are making and how big you want your finished blanket to be! I always advise making one square first then measuring the size of it. From there you can work out how many squares you will need to get the blanket size you want 😀
    Do you have the written pattern? Yes! I have written patterns to accompany my video tutorials on my website here: www.hookedbyrobin.com The written pattern is generally released a week or so after the video tutorial to ensure there are no errors in the video itself and to make amendments in the written version if any are found. All the written patterns are FREE to access on my website
    How can I print the pattern from your website? Do you have downloadable PDF's? Not at this time no. This may change in the future but for now, I only provide the written pattern directly on my website.
    Can you remake this video so it is slower? If the video speed is too fast, you can slow it down! 😀 See this video on exactly how: • How to Adjust the Spee...
    Why do you use American stitch terminology? I learnt using USA stitch terms, long before I even knew there was a difference between UK & US terminology! American terms are my "first language" so to speak. If you need a conversion chart, I have one here! www.hookedbyrobin.com/crochet...

    I love love love your tutorials and girl you waffle away ! I love listening to you . Your teaching method is always so clear and specific I've been crocheting for 35 years plus and i do not have the patience to watch a tutorial that goes on and on i like it to be about what it's suppose to be about and to the point with clear direction and you nail it every time ! Thank you ... so in all my years of crocheting i have only ever finished 1 granny square blanket , i have started many but never finish them usually because as i start joining them i get to second/third row and i always hate the way it's looking , my OCD doesn't like that it looks wonky although I know it will all come together in the end I can never get passed that ..anyone else feel the same way ? Well your tutorials on this blanket have inspired me to try again lol ... pictures anywhere on this particular blanket finished ? Thanks again

    I just found these tight join videos. I have tried and failed to use a photo instruction out there on the web, which a lot of people have liked, but I just could NOT get it. I so appreciate this video as well as the first one--personally, I found it helpful for it to be split in two videos. The first one introduces you to the concept and gives clear instruction. The second video is a natural progression of joining the corners and moving around the blanket. I so appreciate the videos, and the time you took to explain everything. And I ADORE your nails!

    I’m trying this technique for a hexagon motif blanket. How would you do the corners on row two for hexagons? Since only 3 hexagons some together at each corner, you can’t join diagonal corners like you did here with the squares. Love this technique!!

    • @HookedbyRobin
      @HookedbyRobin  5 лет назад

      Ahhhh that's a blimmin' good question! I just join the corners on hexagons, I tend to be a bit sparodic with my placement with hexis and very VERY rarely plan it out in advance so my advice if you are doing it properly (and not being higledy pigledy like me) is to just give it a go and see what works for you! No set answer I'm afraid as I'm not organised enough ! 😂 I do actually tackle how I do hexagons in my video that will be released next friday so if you can wait a week, I show my chaotic approach! (If you can't wait, send me a message and I will see if I can send you a preview link 😉 )

    • @salamanda11
      @salamanda11 5 лет назад +1

      Hooked by Robin I think I came up with something that works! I’m doing a chain two in the corners of the working hexagon, and I pop my hook out after both chains so that I can join to both existing hexagons that I’m connecting to. Thanks for the reply. Looking forward to this week’s video!

    After attaching that fist square of this row you had to break off the yarn right, then prepare the next square and corner right

    • @HookedbyRobin

      Yes, I finish a square then break off the yarn before crocheting the next square :-)

    • @godcrochetchatter9234
      @godcrochetchatter9234 5 лет назад +2

      So on the beginning squares of the row you have to break off yarn, so toy have the starting tail, and end row tails to weave in. Awesome

    • @HookedbyRobin
      @HookedbyRobin  5 лет назад +2

      Yep every square is made individually so you'll have ends to weave in on every square - you could however easily adapt this to make it continuous join as you go if you were joining the final round all in the same colour (like for the other granny square joining video)

    • @maryh99

    • @HookedbyRobin
      @HookedbyRobin  4 года назад

      I'm very lazy when it comes to blocking, so to be honest, I very rarely bother! If I do, it will be at the end when the entire blanket is done and finished. Quite often the weight of the blanket sort of blocks itself so 🤷‍♀️ Life is too short to block items multiple times! 😂

    I think I now have the hang of this method by following your video but my internal corner joins are not very pretty as I'm having a problem placing the first set of corners. This is such a beautiful join but I can't imagine sewing one square at a time to a large blanket with over 100 squares! Way too cumbersome.

    • @HookedbyRobin
      @HookedbyRobin  5 лет назад +1

      You can turn this into a continuous join as you go if you are doing the final round of every square in the same colour - unfortunately as lovely as granny square blankets are, they always have those pesky ends to sew in!

    • @jyslouey
      @jyslouey 5 лет назад +1

      I'm already picturing in my mind how to do this, assuming that I can follow your video for the CJYAG method to join the squares. Do I still leave the corners free and pick them up later as you have done with the granny cluster squares since the joining method is different. Granny cluster CJAYG is def. much easier and faster. I know why I had difficulty with the corners as I was off count with one or two of the squares (missing the first stitch after the second half of the corner) after I unpicked the squares to start over again. I'm determined to nail this!!

    • @HookedbyRobin
      @HookedbyRobin  5 лет назад

      Yes exactly the same way as the granny cluster continuous version - and also yes, granny clusters are a MILLION times easier and less fiddly than this method!

      Sorry if I misunderstood. I love her tutorials and the time it takes to do them, so she waffles, it is an endearing waffle. I have seen others ramble on and say nothing. So I say waffle on with humor as she does. So crochet on. Isn’t this just a wonderful join.
