    Now imagine it's 1975 and you're a 5 year old kid on the South Side of Chicago watching Soul Train and you see David Bowie and he's performing Fame and Golden Years on Soul Train after watching this you beg your older sister to buy you David Bowie's Station To Station album and she buys it yep David Bowie had me hook from day one and i have been a fan ever since.#RipStarman

      lived almost the same scenario. but it was a baby sitter and i was 8..star man opened my mind and so did soul train for that matter. miss those times.

    I wasn’t born in this era but my mom absolutely loved him because of his music and him pushing for black music to be played on MTV. This was one of her favorite performances of his.

    My dad and I watched this a few years ago on RUclips. One of his favorite performances since David was high as a kite on soul train during the height of his cocaine addiction. He gets down And boogies a bit in the begining. It's a bit out of his sober character. My dad thought it was pretty funny though. My dad passed away in October. This is a great trip down memory lane

    I saw on an interview he did and he said he had a hard time lip syncing because he wasn't used to it. He's used to doing live performances.

      @@Punisher316wct5150 You can actually damage delicate TV studio equipment if there is a live performance. Power surges, high volume damaging microphones. Once DI boxes started to be used by more musicians it became a lot easier.

    I think he confessed to being high as a kite when he did this, since Soul Train was notoriously unfriendly to white artists. Him and Elton John were among the few able to pull it off.

      @@tiffxyz2532 Because it doesn't exist. Elton John and David Bowie were both notoriously outspoken about promoting black artist, because they loved our music, and unlike American white folks, actually performed it well.
