I wasn’t born in this era but my mom absolutely loved him because of his music and him pushing for black music to be played on MTV. This was one of her favorite performances of his.
My dad and I watched this a few years ago on RUclips. One of his favorite performances since David was high as a kite on soul train during the height of his cocaine addiction. He gets down And boogies a bit in the begining. It's a bit out of his sober character. My dad thought it was pretty funny though. My dad passed away in October. This is a great trip down memory lane
I would have to say you are right there. He looked rather awkward doing it. I was just surprised that it was on Soul Train. Thanks for your comment. Have a wonderful day.

that's from when he got a little too into the character of the Thin White Duke
Alain in his thin white duke character, he praised(?) Hitler.

Like Michael Jackson's Thriller album. Everyone had Station to Sation.
lived almost the same scenario. but it was a baby sitter and i was 8..star man opened my mind and so did soul train for that matter. miss those times.
station to station .. the berlin coke shooting lp .. note title ... Here comes the train ..
I can vaguely remember seeing footage of the 1975 Soul Train performance here in the UK and being stunned by it.
Hell yeah

Fun fact but David mentioned how terrified he was playing here so he drank before he got on stage so he was faded having a ball 😂🙏🏽
We wasn't on coke dude
Love you ❤
Cool dude
They were ALL doing coke back then. Oh, yes he was.
The fact that he does it on Soul Train, proves he was an epic entertainer 🎉❤😊
So iconic, that it made it to the legendary Soul Train video montage.
I saw on an interview he did and he said he had a hard time lip syncing because he wasn't used to it. He's used to doing live performances.

Greatness ,hiphop owes him.
That's a stretch
He low key looks like the comic book version of the joker
prolly woulda made for a good joker in the 80s if nicholson didn’t do it
In part four of jojos bizarre adventure the main villain is modeled after bowie on here
I definitely see it. The gaunt appearance and the weird movement is definitely cartoonish
