My 69 year old mom has Alzheimer’s and I take care of her. Man she loves RUclips videos and loves music even more. My 17 yr old showed me your videos...I fell in love with your positive vibes. I started showing my mom your videos and boys she loves you guys. She forgets a lot but she remembers you two. Thank you for what you do and all your positive music reviews
Aw... bless her & you💚! She’s so young to have Alzheimer’s😢 but I’m happy you’re able to give her joy through music 🎶 & these fab guys!
Jamie, I feel for you. My mom also had Alzheimer’s. Your mom is so blessed to have you and your son in her life. Sending you strength, as much as is possible from this little screen. Stay well, stay safe.
Thank you ladies are so kind
This the most wonderful comment. I'm sorry about your Mom's diagnosis, it's good to know you and these two bring a smile to her face.
How Lovely!! God Bless your mom and God Bless you!
David Bowie challenged MTV in its early days for not playing Black artists. He had a way of just calling it like he saw it. Marched to his own beat and that was part of his appeal. Gave others courage to live their own truths. RIP.
He also was invited to play on SOUL TRAIN in the 1970's and there is a Video of that performance.
He alwaya supported other artists, borrowed sounds, collaborated. He was a gift to all of us. Thanks, Starman. 🖤 🌟
He sure did. The video where he called them on it in a televised interview is still out there and he was brilliant. There’s racism everywhere but the older English rock stars saw it when they came here, in the ‘60s-80s and some of them spoke out against it. David was one of them who did it in a very public platform. Love that man.
Bowie married a black model
@@xoxxobob61 ... He was the 1st white performer on Soul Train.
Yes, more Bowie. The answer is always more Bowie.
The world hasn't been the same since Bowie left us. 😭 RIP Goblin King 💔
David Bowie is a GOAT. So many songs to choose from but Let’s Dance is a banger.
I’m pretty sure they have listed to this song be for I’m 14 and heard this song 1,000,000 times. There doing it for content
His new stuff's great too, especially Valentine's Day and Love is Lost.
@@brettbuffalo2171 who’s new stuff
@@Cops-Are-stupid They grew up in a church environment and are now catching up on music they missed when younger.
@@Cops-Are-stupid You would be wrong.
He’s gone now. Look through his history...so many different phases. His career lasted a long time and his musical styles were very diverse.
And he was in Twin Peaks (movie)
@@joshehrendreich4058 and the Man who Fell To Earth and a vampire movie with Catherine Deneuve. Or was it Susan Sarandon?
@@pyrovania I'm fairly certain he was also in The Prestige with Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale. He played Nikola Tesla.
It was both of them! :)
He was also in Labyrinth
“It’s giving me like a funk vibe…”. Yes, so funky that Mr. James Brown himself sampled it!
Wow
Did not sample - copied it by hiring same guitarist.
@@davidalston3626 ok, but same idea. It’s unmistakeably “Fame” that JB is singing over.
@@lcozzarelli What song did he sample it on?
@@nickavenoso7851 this one. I like both songs btw, and JB remains the Godfather of funk! ruclips.net/video/6Vn--qcqxXI/видео.html
David Bowie is one of the greatest artists of all time. Dive down that rabbit hole and explore an astounding career that kept growing and changing over decades, right up to his dying days.
O
He was married to Black Supermodel Iman. He also went to MTV exec.and asked why they don't have any Black bands and singers...well, MTV changed and started putting all the groups and singers in their line up. He was a great man and entertainer.
He was a real INFLUENCER!
You could have just said "supermodel".
@@katyas-mom Just giving them a little background...your sarcasm is not necessary...this is a fun page!!!!
Love you twins!!!
@@katyas-mom I think you're wrong..the point was about David's connection to black people. Therefore, pointing out that his wife was black is important in this context.
@@michaelharris680 Thank you! 😊
You paused at the worst time! Lol. I know everyone was waiting for the "FAME" drop.
😆 yup
I said the same thing! 😂
I actually yelled "noooo, don't stop THERE!".... LOL
I was gonna say the same thing. Was checking to see if anyone else caught it. Lol
I know, right!!! I was getting ready to say the word and they paused!!!
Let me say this. I'm British and I'm 62 years old. In 1977 when I was 19, I first listened to this and other tracks like Sound and Vision. I said then that this was music that belonged to the future, and I still say it now when I hear Sound and Vision. It's great that you lads think the same as we did in the 70s. Our 44 year-old music then was made in the 1930's.
Omg yes! More Bowie reactions! The earth is billions of years old, and we all somehow got lucky enough to exist at the same time as David Bowie. The man is a LEGEND.
Goot Lort, the David Bowie rabbit hole is deep and has many tunnels. "Space Oddity" followed by "Ashes To Ashes" "Ziggy Stardust" "Changes" "Young Americans" "Heroes." "Golden Years" "Fashion" "Sound And Vision" "Oh You Pretty Things" and "Suffragette City." And "Under Pressure" with Queen, official video if you haven't already done it. That should start you guys out, but there is SO MUCH MORE. He's a GENIUS.
Golden Years is my favorite Bowie song. Check it out! Love you guys.
They did do Under Pressure with the original video, it was great, as all their reactions are!
@@shelq3814, thanks! Got to check it out. Now we have to make them see all the old movies that make up Under Pressure, lol. JK.
moonage daydream
Good list. I'd do Golden Years next to keep the funk thing going. I don't care as much for Fashion. I'd switch it out with The Man Who Sold the World.
The world lost David Bowie 5 years ago and 3 months later we lost Prince. Two musical geniuses! At Prince’s last concert he sang David Bowie’s song “Heroes” after he had passed. Another great song worth checking out.
Yes. Two artists who never stopped reinventing themselves. Open to all musical inspiration. ❤️
2016 was tragic... then in December we lost George Michael. 😥
@@christyjakelpatrick9130 yes horrible year. Also lost Rod Temperton who wrote sooooo many great classic songs
2016 damn near broke me...2020 made that look like a goddamn dress rehearsal
Hard to take in that it's 5 years, already!
Bowie was still evolving when he passed but he left us with so much of all of his selves. “Rebel, Rebel “ is a favorite.
He certainly was still evolving. And I was looking forward to the ride he was undoubtedly going to take us on beyond Black Star. Miss that man to this day.
I had to laugh when they said they wanted to see what Bowie looked like when performing! Where to even start...
"I don't know what that is... it's a bell?" It's a guitar, my young friend.
😄
I thought the same thing😄
I was also going to let them know...that's what a talented guitar player can do...😁
And he could play a guitar just like ringing a bell! Go! Go!
😊😂
John Lennon helped write this song played guitar and sang vocals in the background..👏👏👍
Wow I did not know that that's very cool
You can hear it in the "call and response" part of the song... 🤟
Bowie's, "Let's Dance" was a good song too, but "Fame" is my all time fav of Bowie's. Bowie's widower is the model Iman.
Elton John's, "i'm Still Standing" and "Benny & The Jets."
Also check out Gino Vannelli's hits from the 1970's, "I Just Wanna Stop" and "Living Inside Myself."
The Bar-Kays, "Your love's like the Holy Ghost."
Mint Condition ('90's) Swingin'
@@carbar3936 Bar Kays- Holy Ghost would be awesome to see
Also played guitar
Tip of the iceberg fellas. One of the greatest artists of all time.
You guys should react to his song “Young Americans” live. You’ll spot a young Luther Vandross as one of his background singers.
Lend an ear to "Lets Dance" from his music in the 80's. He was a whole mood!!
Don't
His songs from the 70s like FAME were way better than his 80s songs NOT EVEN CLOSE
Matter of opinion.
That moment when you KNOW Tim and Fred gonna look at each other. 🔥👏
You knew exactly when it was going to happen. 🤩
When I was kid, he was a guest on Soul Train singing Fame and we fell love with him and followed his career throughout the years. They played Fame on all of the black radio stations back then.
FAME CAME OUT IN 1975 The Funky 70s BABY
Love David Bowie. John Lennon helped write this song, and sang backing vocals. Two absolute music geniuses, and two of my heroes ❤
Luther Vandross was one of his backing singers rip to two legends
Love Young Americans. Aaaaallright. 💞
@@Bibiznatch yeah baby : )
Woah 😳 cooool
@@Bibiznatch my Favorite Bowie song!!
The song "Right" is worth your listen...funky!
"Don't know the man?" Then you need to see Bowie singing "Heroes" at Live Aid.
The original unenhanced version of Hero's on Live Aid was the best with Thomas Dolby.
I highly recommend David Bowie’s version of “Wild Is The Wind”. It was originally recorded by Johnny Mathis (who you may have listened to around Christmas) in 1957, and then in 1966 it was a hit for Nina Simone. Bowie covered it as a tribute to Simone in 1976. The video is black and white and jazzy and is so amazing. 💜💜💜
Beautiful song!
I’ve never heard of David Brownie either 🤣 but I’ve heard of David Bowie....legend. Can’t believe there are people in the world who don’t know who Bowie is, what the?
Oh please listen to more David Bowie, please and thank you! David Bowie is a musical chameleon and genius and a good dude. RIP David.
If i could suggest a song - Life on mars. it's my favorite song.
"Musical Chameleon" like LOVE That 🤯
David Bowie is a legend we lost way too soon. I'd recommend you look up some videos from the late 70's thru the 2000's. He was unique, wrote his own songs & had a couple different personas. One being Ziggy Stardust. The man was simply a GENIUS ❤ Rip David you will never be forgotten & definitely admired!!💔
No he started in the early 70s. Excuse me I was wrong it was 64. Space Oddity came out in 69. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Bowie_discography
@@tommtommkin I know. but wasn't sure they'd be able to access the video footage they expressed interest in. In the mid 70's. Thank you tho@
@@Lisa-mm6ud :) Cool.
David Bowie also wrote a song for the British band Mott the Hoople - All The Young Dudes.
He was a true original which is saying a lot in this day and age of what passes for "talent" these days. I miss more and more these 5 years on. Peace
David Bowie, one of the greatest artists of the last 50 years. A visionary. This song was co-written by John Lennon. Thank you for grooving along with Bowie.
One of my favorites from him! The other is “Golden Years”. Play that one sometime!
THIS is how funky it was to be A teen in the 1970s ,, Fame from 1975
I wouldn't mind if you literally did all of David Bowie's catalogue, the man's that legendary. From Ziggy to the Thin White Duke to the Blind Prophet, he'll make you laugh, think, dance, and even cry. He's an artist worth investing in.
😂😂 I wouldn’t mind that either 👏🏻
There are some albums that you have to listen to in order from beginning to end (Dark Side, White Album, etc), and Ziggy Stardust is one of those.
@@jenathome575 definitely listen to David Bowie's "Golden Years" and "Young Americans." David could definitely sing funk and soul as well as dance and rock he was so versatile with his music. By the way he was married to the model "Iman" the beauty from Somalia. Fame, Young American and Golden Years we're released in 1975 or 1976 and ya'll are just now discovering these treasures? Better late than never. Peace and Positivity!Keep up the good work!
You are absolutely right on your assessment of David Bowie's collection, Fame and Let's Dance I have played these 💎 gems for so many yrs I cannot remember but his entire collection transcends both time and 🌌 dpa e!
He’s a rock n roll and fashion ICON!
I was a kid when this came out, I danced every time, and I didn't realize it was David Bowie until the 80's. But yes, he is a true legend. Continue to emerce yourselves in great music.
Genius, master of his craft, never judge an album by its cover!
David Bowie’s entire catalogue belongs here. Legend.
Space Oddity live and Let's Dance live. David Bowie is an icon, around since the 1960's. He was a sweet friendly man. I saw him in the street one day, in NYC, I smiled and said hi. He gave me a smile that lit up the street and said HELLO! bright and loud, like he was greeting an old friend!
That's amazing!!
Since the 60's!
Oh my gosh that's amazing :') wish I could've met him
I would have fainted flat in the street.
@@couplakooks I would have too!!
YAY! Finally a Bowie! THANK YOU! Still hoping you'll listen to "Changes" by David Bowie.
Bowie wrote this with John Lennon. A masterpiece for the ages.
They wouldn't know who Lennon is !!
I’ve been waiting so long for you to listen to David Bowie. He was an artist decades ahead of his time.. there so many songs you should listen to, Young Americans, Let’s Dance, Changes.. just as an example, and all three are totally different in style. He’s worth exploring like Queen’s Freddy Mercury. Also, he was the Glam Rock master, his performances were spectacles..
Man, Bowie has so many classics. You gotta listen to his collab with Queen, Under Pressure. Moonage Daydream, Starman, Let's Dance, all amazing.
They’ve definitely already listened to Under Pressure with Queen. So many more Bowie hits to go through
Love Starman, Life on Mars and Changes.
Esp moonage daydream n Station to Station
I was gonna say, they love Queen, they would so love Under Pressure. Him and Freddy...nothing better.
Under Pressure - very good one. Always.
Love you guys! Bowie had a 50 year career and did so many styles from straight 60's Brit-pop to acid-tinged rock n roll, to funk/techno... the list goes on. May he RIP in Rock N Roll Heaven, and any time anyone suggests more Bowie you should do it.
DAVID BOWIE LIVE WAS EVERYTHING. SO BLESSED THAT I GOT TO SEE HIM ONCE
The late great Luther Vandross was his back up singer in the song Young Americans.
I did NOT know that. thanks...
Mr. Vandross gave credit to Mr. Bowie for discovering him. Luther also did the vocal arrangements on Young Americans. Both sorely missed. ❤️
And Robin Clark as well as David Sanborn on sax. Robin Clark sings the vocal solo on Alive and Kicking by Simple Minds.
@@dalem4039 Robin Clark kills on Simple Minds All The Things She Said too. She's amazing!!
@@monicamad1285 yes she’s an incredible singer. Most people don’t seem to know who she is. I was surprised when I found out she and Luther both sing backups on Young Americans. Now I can’t not hear their voices.
David Bowie's "Heroes" is worth a listen, guys. Genius song.
It's flawless
I love Bowie, but I think "Heroes" is my absolute favorite. I got to see him do it live on the Sound & Vision tour and it was a phenomenal experience.
@@mrsmck2910 I don't doubt that!! As I age, I appreciate more and more the brilliance of this song.
My all time favorite song by any artist
100%. I was hoping they’d listen to Heroes. Or something from the Ziggy days.
I think you will enjoy “Young Americans” from the same era/persona of Bowie.
That song has got some serious funk. David Bowie could do anything with his voice. He has done plenty of songs others have listed you need to check out.
His version of Peace on Earth/The Little Drummer Boy with another legend Bing Crosby is my favorite Christmas song.
Me too. It actually makes me tear up, lol.
It's just not Christmas until I hear that.
Bing was trippin
"FAME" is sooooooooo funky! 😍
Please, please, please, please react
to more David Bowie. He's a legend.
- "Under Pressure" with QUEEN!!
- "Modern Love" 🔥
- "China Girl" 🔥
- "Lets Dance" (Stevie Ray Vaughan plays the guitar solo in it! 😍)
He was the King of Cool!!! You will like anything and everything he did, completely innovated, complex, and talented
His Philly inspired “plastic soul” era.
RIP David Bowie. 🙏🎼💖
You should do David Bowie’s song “let’s dance”- Stevie Ray Vaughn plays guitar on it!
Look for The Rise and Fall if Ziggy Stardust, it’s an early concert. Also, Glass Spider and I think Live at the Tower are on video. I’m a Bowie fan since childhood, I was Aladdin Sane for Halloween when I was in first grade. He changed with the times and experimented a lot . He was a musical artist and visual artist and also an actor. I cried when he passed. What a loss it was.
Drums are Awesome in David Bowie's "Fame"--they really drive the song.
A Timeless Classic...
Bowie said that he would much rather be Creating new music in the studio rather than playing songs over and over on tour...
Space Oddity or Young Americans... He also collaborated with Queen on the song Under Pressure. Quite a huge body of excellent work.
Ashes To Ashes, China Girl....
Young Americans. That's a good one
I cried when he died. I got to see him in concert. Just him and his guitar
I cried the whole day. And I still remember what Hilton Als wrote for the New Yorker magazine website: "This was not supposed to happen. Ever."
@@helengraves7850 I was on a bus when the Pope tweeted "Ground control to Major Tom. Commencing countdown engines on. Check ignition and ... may God's love be with you." I had held it together through the day until then ...
@@janescribner8258 I missed that, perhaps fortunately, since I was already not holding it together! But how beautiful.
Always amazed at how John Lennon was able to do that with his voice.
Bowie unapologetically reinvented himself through the decades of his life. He loved his fans and even saved music that's been released even after his death. He wasn't scared of trying different sounds, styles and mixing it up with other artists. He never took himself seriously and like Elvis loved working with black musicians. They both had soul and even had the same Birthday. He was a genius before his time. When you guys said funk vibe and on the moon walking...you were spot on because that was Bowie in a nutshell! I'm a Bowie superfan and I love you guys and I'm stoked you gave it a listen and got him. Thanks guys! ❤
John Lennon helped write this song - he came up with the title and also sang the background "Fame" parts in the high voice.
I did not know this!
Had no clue....
@@mkuf713 that's a fun fact. I'm going to stun my mom with this knowledge later today
That "high" voice pitch is known as "Falsetto".
Lennon did not came up with title - he was singing Aim and Bowie changed it to Fame.
I'm sooo glad I came up in the 1970's. We had the best music black and white musicians. Y'all killing it. Do some AWB AVERAGE WHITE BAND or WILD CHERRY
There is no bad David Bowie. So many different styles so many years and it is all fantastic.
He said he’s to cool to fool. Loved me some Bowie RIP! And his widow Iman.🙏🏽
Bowie is a legend 🙌
Golden years is my fav David Bowie song. Think you'd luv it.
I watch knights tale just to see heath ledger dance to this song!
@@monaestrada6256 That's a great scene. Definitely worth replaying before continuing.
They said they wanted to see him "live." They had no idea that Bowie had already left us.
R.I.P. David Bowie. Glad you guys took a listen the man changed his sound so many times true Musical genius!
LET'S DANCE is his ultimate hit.
Yes!!!! Let’s Dance!!!
So many better tunes but each to their own.
So many people LOVE this guy... he served up so much diversity and artistic talent and was a true gentleman ♡ please listen to a song from each of his periods plus also check out "Labyrinth" and other movies he was in ♡
It's also a treat to watch him being interviewed - such a genuinely nice, thoughtful and interesting person.
Not enough people describe Bowie as funk the way you did right away. Was my first thought that this is one of the best funk songs ever done!
I have only really gotten into funk in the last couple years, and am still trying to dive in more!
When this song came out I was working at the diner in my town of 200 people and had added Fame to the jukebox along w/other song that weren't 20 year old CW tunes. One old dude got up & unplugged the jukebox when this came on!!🤣
An absolute legend, trailblazer, chameleon, provocateur, there aren't enough adjectives for this man. Heroes, Fashion, Young Americans, Golden Years, Let's Dance, China Girl, Blue Jean, Under Pressure (duet with another legend, Freddie Mercury), you could spend days and days listening to his music and discover something new each time.
I think the guys have reacted to "Under Pressure" but didn't catch on to Bowie? Can't remember, need to go search the backlist :-)
You forgot "Modern Love".
@@lb8471 shoot, I did. Sorry!
Suffragette City!..🎵
My favorite David Bowie song is "Young American". Whereas Fame is more funky, Young American is more motown/soul. Greatest tune ever?
Bowie was a great gift to this shabby frayed world. Now that you've found him, you have a lot to discover. Enjoy the hell out of him. Blessings on him, and on you 💕
When this Song came on in the Nightclub EVERYBODY got on the dance floor. If you didn't have someone to dance with, you just hit the beat and went to the middle of the dance floor. Good times..great memories!
BTW That's John Lennon (Beatles) playing guitar & singing background.
He did this song on SOUL TRAIN!
It would be fun if they could react to Soul Train lines, especially the 70's, but the 80's were fun too since the 80's had Louis and Cheryl and some very memorable Soul Train lines
This is a true legend listen to anything from the album Ziggy Stardust. Space oddity is a killer song too. He is gone to soon.
He's a legend. Definitely one of the greats who we miss.
Thanks for reacting to Bowie ! Yes, you gotta watch him live. So many other great Bowie songs, try “ Life on Mars “ “ Young Americans” , “Changes” “Hero’s” and Ziggy Stardust . You guys are great
Bowie was one of the most talented musicians ever to live. A huge range of styles and an incredible voice.
I hope you enjoy exploring his catalog! I'd start with Rebel Rebel and make sure not to miss his last album--realizing that he knew he was dying when he recorded it, and it's a gift to us.
Have you seen the version of Rebel Rebel recorded in a stadium with hundreds of fans on drums, guitar, vocals - they are so joyful!

David Bowie is iconic. He's a story teller. And yes, you both should watch a live performance. There are numerous songs that I love from him.
My my my - go down that Rabbit Hole NOW ... I was more than fortunate to see Bowie in concert 7 times. There isn't day I don't think of him. He was GOAT - multi talented.
The last song of his life was only a few years ago, he was dying of cancer at the time and did the entire thing from a hospital bed 😢♥️
Y’all have found your way to one of THE greats! Welcome boys, enjoy your stay to the fullest!
This sound is unique because he's unique.
David Bowie just passed away. He is a British Born Rocker that goes back to the 1960s. This man was so talented it was crazy. He has a ton of great music from over 50 yrs. of Show Business.
John Lennon from the Beatles on guitar, and also doing the voice near the end saying, “Fame,” that goes from high-pitched to low-pitched.
You can really hear him during "Is it any wonder?".
How did I not know this about John Lennon LOL that is so cool and just bring them whole new level to my love of this song
"Ashes to ashes" is a must if you want to get to know David Bowie.
I want to see you guys do "Suffragette City" just to see the reaction to THE part. (People who know the song will know what I mean.) So many great Bowie ones to choose from, though!
Was in a rock band that did Suffragette City. When it came to Wham Bam Thank you Ma’am part, we instead would say Hey Kids Flip Your Lids(Beany and Cecil)....anyone?🎵
I saw Bowie live in his Station To Station tour...BEST concert I've ever been to (and I went to a lot) Love him so hard. Miss him!
