They easily had the best starting 5 in basketball and I remember Penny schooled Jordan the first game they played that year while Shaq was on the shelf. I have reoccurring dreams to this day about seeing the Orland Magic in the Shaq & Penny era. As a kid from the UK in the 90’s there was nothing else in the universe I wanted to see more. Losing to the Rockets in the final still gives me nightmares to this day.

To those who has never witness Penny, I just put it like this, if I'd been in a comma from 1994 and wake up in 2000 and see Shaq and Kobe, I'd ask what happen to Penny Hardaway? There's no way Penny is not a top 3 player at peak if not because of that injury.

I would put Grant Hill and especially Tim Duncan over Penny any day (They have the edge defensively and Grant Hill in both areas), but I have him at third concerning his talent. He was def. my fav. guy in the 90s

penny toyed with pippens defense during their match ups....he was so young yet so poised. He could post, bring the ball, shoot, assist,play defense,great feel for the game as such a young age. Total package!
lol, penny could not score with either pippen or jordan. He was good but dont say that. Pippen holds his own greatness. In fact pippen > penny coz pippen brings more to the table. Penny dont deserve top 50 all time great, pippen does. Penny was equal to kobe or better at the time. Its sad, they were not coached as good as brown nor phil. Nobody beats MJ in his era, its just a fact and pippen is the boy wonder.

Not a bias thought, but chicago that time is an all-star team, which actually started the idea of creating a big 3 combo to get a championship. Magic that time are 90% 24yo below, except for horace grant. And yet beat the bulls in the 1995 eastern finals.

I have reoccurring dreams to this day about seeing the Orland Magic in the Shaq & Penny era. As a kid from the UK in the 90’s there was nothing else in the universe I wanted to see more. Losing to the Rockets in the final still gives me nightmares to this day.
