      It's been 30 years. it happens. I never did but I don't have a family. most people aren't gonna remmeber what they had for breakfast yesterday how you expect them to remember a basketball player from 30 years ago that's not Jordan or Shaq.

      💯Absolutely. Prime Penny was a extrodinary passer accompanied with a nice outside shot that kept defenders honest. His lethal midpost game usually drew extra defenders which freed up more shooters and open players.

      @@carlwallace1129 Penny never had a prime. He was great already. He got hurt at like 26 years old. Prime for most is 28-32. Penny got hurt just prior to entering his prime years.

      @@aw144k9 Grant Hill was a better all around player. Penny was great in his role, but Grant Hill was much more explosive and would have been a superstar undoubtedly. Penny still had to prove himself.

    Sprewell was a straight up baller. He didn't play basketball until his junior year in high school.

      **Senior year. Which makes his career that much more incredible considering how guys are groomed (Lonzo, LaMelo, et al) at a very young age. Coach James Gordon spotted him in the high school hallways... His background was streetball in Milwaukee. First team all NBA, All Defense 2nd team just a handful of years after HS, three rivers / Alabama....

      Penny and Jordan were the only 2guards that really contained Prime SPREEWELL. even with SPREEWELLs lack of handles his 1st step was lighting along with his jab step and step back pull up jumper

He definitely would have been more of a efficient scorer if he'd polished up his handles more because he Showed that he could average over 24ppg game off of his raw speed athleticism.SPREE has had stretches where he'd get hot behind the 3pt line along with putting up some high 30 and 40+ point games.

      @@jow14281 no he can't especially one on one JORDAN is the G.O.A.T. .however in a team match up Penny could neutralize him and give him fits in the midpost( not as bad as he did prime Pippen)and elevate his teammates to generate just as many wins or possibly more if he ain't surrounded by bums.

    Penny was Raw! But this Sprewell was my all time favorite basketball player growing up in Oakland as a kid, he was hella exciting to watch, I loved him more than Jordan, he was electrifying! That P.J carlesimo situation changed him, he was still a great player with the Kinicks but not like the baldhead Spree! #15!

    I wish that Spree could play on Chicago Bulls after his years on NY, but unfortunately never happened.

    Dam I really really hate Penny had the misfortunes of injuries cause that man had a doll named after him he was so good! I mean he was compared to magic johnson and Jordan.He's not mentioned enough when people speak about great players.Yea he's my home boy from Tennessee but I'm not being bias,he was a helluva player if you go back and look at his old clips.Just listen to the commentary?

      Prime Penny was like a unicorn talent at both guard spots. He was a Point God natural gifted with extrordinary court vision, Passing, a seasoned midpost game to counter his outside 3pt shooting ability and above the rim finishes in the lane

      Penny Hardaway was the 90’s Derrick Rose… Rose didn’t have to win MVP over MJ but Penny came close a few times in his short stint. Both players with immense potential cut short.
      They needed to develop jumpers earlier.

    I was at this game penny rookie season Shaq also has 40 in this game. First time I saw a player dunk and had the rim and backboard shaking a whole possession while warriors were on offense 😊

    Love the way they both played. Speedwell always going all out aggressive good defence.
    Penny’s footwork and post moves were impeccable!!! I had this game on vcr and played it over and over again!

      PENNY ,SPREEWELL and VANEXEL were my favorite 3players to watch when Jordan retired for baseball. PENNY and Spree used to be a treat to watch compete evey second. There were No room for errors against them in their primes

    Heck of a game with some tremendous ballers. Sprewell turned out to be a nutjob but he was fearless. I miss Penny. I miss hoops from this era.

    Latrell was a damn good defensive player. That block to send it to over time was very well done. Hard to do without fouling but he did it clean.

    It's still hard to understand why the Warriors decided to keep Don Nelson and trade Chris Webber. With his arrival the year before, they won 50 games and obviously made the playoffs. They would have had him, Spree, Mullen and Hardaway. They became one of worst franchises (outside of there 2007 run) in the NBA up until the 2009 NBA Draft.

      Yeah it was a big thing in the 90s. MJ made the long baggy shorts and bald head popular in the 90s. Then Iverson made corn rows and arm sleeves popular in the 2000s. Kobe tried to bring back the afro in the 2000s but it didn't really catch on. Kobe and T-Mac made leg sleeves popular though in the 2000s. In the 2010s KD made compression tights the popular thing & everyone started wearing them. It's kind of funny how much things have changed, no one shaves their head anymore, no one wears corn rows or full arm sleeves like Iverson, even headbands are a lot less common now. Everyone just wears those tights.

    I remember seeing this game when I was 14 years old. Been looking for years for this particular game. This went into overtime and Penny was a monster out there. Sprewell was my favorite player at that time and they were going at it.
