      @Me, Also Me They beat mike in 95 before mike had his legs under him. In 96 mike showed penny and shaq that neither were on his level. It had to hurt penny and shaq to get swept by the Bulls something Orlando couldn't do even when mike was at a weak point.

    • @donnelladams340
      @donnelladams340 4 года назад +2

      @Me, Also Me He played 18 games after a year and a half off from playing. When he played an 82 game season the next season and led Chicago to 72 and 10 he showed Penny and the rest of the league that they could fuck with him. You can see that by the sweep of the magic the next season. Mike had a whole year of playing in BASKETBALL shape, not coming off of a year and a half. Penny couldn't stop mike and he showed Penny.

    • @jtremaine23
      @jtremaine23 4 года назад +1

      @Me, Also Me MJ had some good numbers in the 95 playoffs but I wouldn't say he played amazing as he had just as many turnovers that year in 10 games versus the 18 games in 96. As we all know, turnovers can kill you in the end. Also, he was uncertain during clutch situations as he didn't know whether to shoot or pass and that's something he was the best at (ex: terrible pass to Pippen in crunch time which was another turnover). Lastly, basketball legs are different than baseball legs. I don't think he touched a basketball much during his baseball time...except during Pip's charity game.
      I highly doubt Kawhi would have won a chip with Durant playing though....I guess Jordan could have won with Shaq out lol. Also, Kawhi was able to play more than 17 games in the regular season and the East isn't as tough now as it was then. We have to factor all of that in.

      @owainkanaway8345 4 года назад +1

      @@donnelladams340 You are forgetting that they got swept by Houston in 95 when Houston had the inferior roster and they barley improved in the 96 season. It's not really surprising they lost to Chicago, so what was the problem? Orlando had no coach, Brian Hill as a head coach was trash. He didn't know how to change strategies when Orlando was in trouble, he had a gimmick offense system that relied on Shaq getting way too many touches, and Shaq passing it to open shooters when he got double-teamed. When Brian Hill wanted other players to be more involved (ie Shaq getting less touches) Shaq got angry and he allowed Shaq to get what he wanted. Brian Hill didn't know what he was doing, and shame on Orlando management for not realizing that Hill was trash as a head-coach. But what really broke up that team was Orlando management, they made 3 big bone headed decisions that broke up that squad....and Horace Grant got injured in that series against Chicago, which would have made a difference. If Horace Grant played I think Orlando would have still lost, but I don't think they would have gotten swept. But Orlando was not going to win a ring with Brian Hlil as the head coach, it's a shame Orlando didn't hire a quality head coach when Shaq and Penny were still together. Brian Hill should have been fired after Orlando lost in the 95 finals.

As good as he was that comeback year the team also lacked chemistry from not playing much together. It didn't help the next year they went 72-10 and destroyed the Magic in their playoff rematch, further validating the logic he and the Bulls were never truly back in full swing the year prior. Then they went on to win the championship... and then the next year they won again...and then the next year (you get the idea)...

      @@marioduque4032 After wearing the white concords in games 1 and 2 in the 1995 semi finals against the Magic, the NBA fined Jordan for not complying with League uniform policy (players had to wear the same colour shoes back then; while the Bulls were wearing their customary black shoes in the playoffs, Jordan debuted a prototype of the 11 white concords). Because Nike hadn't manufactured the black/concords in time, Jordan asked to borrow a pair of Air Flight Ones (Penny's unofficial shoe) for game 3. He even cut off the '1' heel tab. For game 4, MJ wore the black concords.

      @Me, Also Me Orlando had no coach, Brian Hill was the worst head coach at the time coaching the most talented team. This was evident when Orlando was out-coached in the 95 finals against Houston. Also they lost Horace Grant in that series, and Penny was injured. Penny's injury started in the 96 playoffs against the Detroit Pistons in the first round.

    Jordan was the greatest no question! But most of his career he was being checked and guarding guys that didn't belong on the same court as him. The mid to late 90s brought in players who were much closer in skill and athleticism like penny, kobe, a.i, grant hill, t.mac, Vince etc. They were not Reggie Miller, joe dumars, danny angie, or clyde drexler. MJ was before his time, he would still be better then any of them. But Shaq and Kobe's Lakers, and the spurs, would have split championships with the bulls. Just like the 80s Lakers, Detroit and Boston all got rings in that decade .

    No doubt that Penny to be so young took seriously the opportunity to be in the NBA not like the actual generation of players. He played the best in the league one and one with MJ and Pippen and demonstrate a serious level of competition. The only player so young 2 or 3 years in the league with even more vision to control a game or take action. He was a baby 22 or 23...I never see a young with so level of confidence except KOBE, to challenge MJ or Pippen.
    Once KOBE enter the legue and enter in the level of maturity, Anfernee was old so we can't have a fair level of challenge.
    No doubt that Anfernee without an injury likewise Derrick Rose. A player as Derrick rose in the begging was unstoppable even to the caliber of MJ or similar players. Unfortunately both ended with a non essential uncontrollable variables that affect their career.
    Imagine those guy with 32-34 years in the league without any of this! 😮
