Born in 73, Dr. J was actually my first basketball hero but then he retired in like 1986. Right after that was the dunk contest where Mike jumped from the free throw line to slam it & that was it for me, I was a fan of both him & the Bulls from then on...
I’d stay home night to watch the Bulls and MJ live on TNT and TBS. I went to 2 Bulls vs Sixers games live in Philly to see MJ. It was insane to be able to see him live. It was almost like it wasn’t real. Like a dream. They won 1 game and lost the other. In each game he had amazing dunks and his patented baseline layups around multiple defenders.

The debate between Lebron and MJ was settled tonight once and for all for me, when I heard Stephen A Smith say... "When Lebron walked on the court, players respected him. But when MJ walked on the court, players were terrified of him." Never mind all the stats that MJ clearly dominates in with the time he spent, he literally terrified his opponents because of how great he was, and how bad he could make you look... Very few wanted a piece of him.
@@மணி2047 Lebron has certainly tarnished his own reputation by hanging around the game but not playing hard. Also, people have grown tired of his "look at me!" act. Fortunately for Michael, the internet and social media did not exist when he was still playing.
Bron would’ve cried for a flagrant on that Shaq foul. MJ gets up shook that off 😤and went back to destroying them. His advice to Shaq came from a place of how he’d expect his teammate to handle that. No mercy. Killer instinct
I can only imagine playing against Jordan and what it must have felt like being a young player against him. I attended the 2007 Iron Bowl (I’m a Bama fan) in Auburn and Bo Jackson was introduced to the crowd. I had flashbacks of being 9 years old in 1983 and watching the Iron Bowl on TV and Bo had 2 TD runs of over 70+ yards and over 250+ yards for the game. I was 33 years old [2007] and started crying like a baby as I was seeing in person the *Greatest Athlete that has ever walked on earth* So playing against MJ had to be crazy.
First game ever watching him was in 1991 Game 1 of NBA finals vs show time Lakers. That's when I really knew who Michael Jordan was and fell in love with basketball 🏀
The first real memory I have of watching Jordan was in the 87 playoffs against Detroit. I made my parents watch it with me and I remember.. I was 8 years old and my mom late eat my dinner in the living room so I could watch the game. I never missed a bulls game and when I was 18 I was living in Salt Lake city and I was fortunate enough to go see him play the jazz in the finals. Great memories.
I absolutely remember the first time I saw MJ play, I was in Germany and one of my new soldiers asked if I was going to watch the Bulls play. I was like hell no I’m not staying up until 2 in the morning to watch a boring basketball game. Well he convinced me to watch because I had never seen MJ play, needless to say he spent the whole game grinning and watching my reaction because I had never seen anything like that before. I couldn’t wait to get on the court just to try a fraction of the moves I witnessed.
Being a knicks fan i went through a few heartbreaks from jordan but i always respected him and rooted for him when my knicks were eliminated 🤣🤣🤣✌️❤️. JORDAN defintely my favorite all time player to watch. Like a cerebral assassin😂😂😂
I grew up in the 90s my brother was a John Stockton fan. I watched jordan cook them so many times the i watched the infamous Russell buzzer beater live. He was unstoppable and dosent get enough credit for his defense and willingness to hustle.
My first time seeing MJ was in 83’ while I was at my first military base assignment (Holloman AFB, New Mexico). MJ was balling and on ESPN playing for North Carolina. After about 5 minutes my roommate and both dapped each other and said “#23 is The Next One!!!” OMG!!!
Yep, the reason he doesn't get the proper recognition for his college play is...nobody had ever seen what he was doing before, and they couldn't get their heads around it. MJ was the best player in basketball while at UNC.
Tracey mgrady says " Michael had a glow. " Jordan had it all. one of the best things he had was being intelligent enuf to listen to professional advisors in his personal life and than make educated decisions about how to handle it in public. I have never followed Jordan, but i have seen both very intelligent but honest clips from a few interviews. I think there is tremendous pressure on these type of media people. Whatever skeletons are rattling around in his life, he has survived.
Loved ALL of these interviews. I wish the Wizards had been as open to receiving what MJ had to teach them as their player/coach as Kobi was. They could have been the team to beat in the 2000's.
thanks for the awesome video! I grew up in Chicago n was a bulls fan before Michael joined the team. I first watched him when he was at UNC. fortunately, I was able to watch him play live after his stint with the white soxs. he was a bit rusty but still showed glimpses of his brilliance
The first time was his freshman year in North Carolina and they beat George Town and damn near everyone in my hometown was on the GT junk. Patrick Ewing was in his final year. I said then whatever team he goes to is going to be my team! And still is my team.
Great video I've seen him play up close and front at least 3 times and took pictures of him which I still own and have today. He was very amazing to see live up close and front.
That's a cool vid, man. Really emotional stuff in there. I have been a Pistons fan as a child in the late 80s and 90s but MJ ever was like completely out of scale. He was unouchable in the greatest era the NBA has ever had. Great memories. Great memories. I think the series when he went from like "the best ever" to literally "god" was the 91 finals. These Lakers still had it. But Michael simply dominated them. These games at the ol Inglewood Forum. Amazing. He followed that up with an epic run, for sure.
Great interviews. Thanks much. I saw a similar thing when Bird started with Boston. He know who he was and was going to show everyone. Tremendous confidence level for a young star.Reall
Moved to Chicago in '63 and became a Bulls fan in '66 when they entered the league (and made the playoffs that first year). Saw Jordan at the Stadium several times. Unbelievable style and grace on the court. The GOAT. Cheers....
Not at all correct, unfortunately. Lbj is known worldwide. I can't stand LeBron but to say that he isn't literally one of the most famous people in the world would be wrong.
I was 10 when the Bulls won their first championship. I watched as many Bulls games I could after that. I was fortunate to attend a home game during the 72 win season against the Jazz when Jordan made a behind the back pass to Pippen for the dunk
The jordan and kobe bond on that court , killers respect killers you see yourself in another 👌 great minds think alike if you wanna be great you learn from a great. 🤌

The FACT that you NEVER hear things like this said about Lefraud or any other player by their contemporaries speak louder than any lie Lefraud or the media can tell ! The mic has long since been dropped !
These imagined responses capture the awe, respect, and inspiration that NBA legends likely felt when facing Michael Jordan for the first time, highlighting his impact on the game and his fellow competitors.
Just blessed to have grown up in the 90s and was able to see him play. If you weren't around to see him play, you'll never understand just how great MJ was. To me, it's insulting to compare anyone to him with the exception of Kobe.
To me and this generation it is atrocious to compare any one in old school times with the modern phenomenon Lebron king 👑 “ the chosen one “ with 40,000 points and he was making everyone better unlike Michail jarden wow !!! If he woulda just scored it be easily 60,000 points
Saw him on TV as a freshman for NC in a regular season game. He made a move with the ball from a standstill to his right sort of to the side. In that moment he went from being covered to being about three feet or more wide open. The defender was still guarding the spot where MJ was before he made his move.
I grew up in Chicago, watching the Bulls on WGN. There is nothing more I wanted to do when Michael was playing. It just made me so happy and I felt so lucky to be along for the ride. The only problem now is the rest of the NBA feels flat. I miss him.
First time I saw MJ…I’m sitting baseline under one basket at MSG. Michael steals the ball at half court…break away dunk! It was the ‘rock the baby’, “cradle” dunk…he jumped so high, so fast that he literally flew past the basket…and then seemed to remember, in midair, “oh yeah, while I’m here, let me throw it down!”… Mesmerizing!!! Still to this day; then he smiled…MJ, greatness to follow.
Great video I know this generation is trying to erase Jordan’s greatness, but there would never be another player to influence the NBA the culture and the world like Jordan did 🐐💯
There nothing better than your peers talking about you in such a passionate way…The players of today don’t understand MJ’s elite basketball IQ and game preparation…Greatness
MJ had that killa instinct at UNC. I lived in NC so I got to pretty much all of their games. I have to agree with Jerry West when he said the best move he ever seen MJ do was against the knicks on the base line when he started to go back out the post with the rock then spun on Ewing and dunked it.
First saw him play on the new channel, ESPN, when he was at N.C. I remember telling my friends that he would be the best basketball player ever. Because at 20 years of age, he was doing things that my idol, Dr. J, couldn't do. He was literally eons ahead of any player in that era. Special thing to watch him play. It was amazing. Thanks Mike!!
I love these MJ (and Bird for that matter) vids. Jordan was in a different universe; SO much fun to watch. The only thing I don't like about these, is that pretty soon they're going to start posting vids about L James. Who is Not EVEN close to MJ. Jordan would have gone for 40 or 50 on James just to show him who was boss. Yes, LJ can play, he's very good. But people now just can't relate to how incredibly competitive Jordan was, no matter who he played, he would cut your heart out to win. James does NOT have that quality. MJ is the GOAT!
First game... Bulls vs Detroit. Season 1. 6th game of his career.. MANNNNNNN The Very first mega dunk, on the fast break. Most EPIC up to that date. No one had done a Dunk like that, EVER Before... And living in Detroit, it was on the news hardcore.. IT WAS SICK!!!!!!! 1984..
The first time I saw him play I was spending the night at the boys club with my teammates. It was the 82 ACC championship game. I was a fan then and am a fan today.
my very 1st time seeing him play was amazing it was like he was play highschoolers & i ask my uncle was he a real person my uncle laughed as hard as a person could laugh 😂
Just the fact that he was born and raised in NC, went to Carolina where my father graduated from and driving the same roads as he does or has are what I think about. Oh and that he was insane to watch.
I was lucky enough to be able to see MJ for the first time, October 1984 in Chicago against the Bullets. Was he the dominant force he became.. No. But his performance was way above what a rookies first game should ever be.
Yes I do remember I was 11 years old in 1985 omg he was just amazing then i met him and shaq in 1992 shaq first game against the bulls myself and 20 aau basketball players
I remember my first time watching him play I was 9 years old when he was in college and I finally met him in boca raton Florida in 1992 I was a McDonald’s basketball player he said hi my mouth couldn’t open I was so nervous and scared and started crying he put his hands on my head and told me to calm down and just work hard
I am lucky enough to have been 7 when Jordan entered the league and 18 when he retired from the bulls.. and as a boy from Chicago who had seen many of the greats, jordan is easily the GOAT....
The guy has retired for 20 years and he is still mentioned daily at every occasion... Greatest ATHLETE who ever lived. Period.

Born in 73, Dr. J was actually my first basketball hero but then he retired in like 1986. Right after that was the dunk contest where Mike jumped from the free throw line to slam it & that was it for me, I was a fan of both him & the Bulls from then on...
1987 after Dr. J retired. I was 7. Being from south Philadelphia Doc was everything. But seeing him , i knew he was different
So excited I had an opportunity to see MJ play in person a few times...AWESOME!
@@rhondaroberts7275 I can imagine watching mj in real time and real life cus watching 👀 him growing up on TV 📺 when I watch old highlights of mj and the bulls I'm still in awwwwwwwwww🤌MJ IS THE UNDISPUTED GOAT OF MY ERA AND TIME HANDS ✋️ DOWN.
If Lebron had played in only Cleveland, he would appear much more respectable that currently being spoken about.
@@மணி2047 Lebron has certainly tarnished his own reputation by hanging around the game but not playing hard. Also, people have grown tired of his "look at me!" act. Fortunately for Michael, the internet and social media did not exist when he was still playing.
This isn’t just about hoops it’s about life. Those who excel have something to teach us all 👍
Bron would’ve cried for a flagrant on that Shaq foul. MJ gets up shook that off 😤and went back to destroying them. His advice to Shaq came from a place of how he’d expect his teammate to handle that. No mercy. Killer instinct
Discussion has to be for second place, the distance between this alien and everybody else is just too big
Facts 👍
Michael Jordan is from another planet.
Well said!
jason kidd is one of the great ones. definitely hall of fame when you add in his great morals and personal life.
He’s a helluva role model lol
I can only imagine playing against Jordan and what it must have felt like being a young player against him.
I attended the 2007 Iron Bowl (I’m a Bama fan) in Auburn and Bo Jackson was introduced to the crowd. I had flashbacks of being 9 years old in 1983 and watching the Iron Bowl on TV and Bo had 2 TD runs of over 70+ yards and over 250+ yards for the game. I was 33 years old [2007] and started crying like a baby as I was seeing in person the *Greatest Athlete that has ever walked on earth*
So playing against MJ had to be crazy.
I was old enough to see it😮. And I love the game back then.
Everybody talks about the "glow". Amazing!!!!
“He was really black… so he could outrun everyone”. Charles the legend.
That's what you heard but that's not what Charles was implying. Clean your ears out...
Great players (like Bron) is respected and admired. GOAT is feared by opponents (and teammates!)
This is pure gold!
Outstanding Video
MJ is the most talented player ever and the way he handled himself on and off the court is why his name is household.
It was an honor to watch all those guys play basketball.
I remember MJ when he came back from playing baseball. I'm back
The first time was his freshman year in North Carolina and they beat George Town and damn near everyone in my hometown was on the GT junk.
That was cool. Michael Jordan really loved Kobe like a little brother!❤❤❤❤
The GOAT. Cheers....
Barkley: “Bobby Knight didn’t like me because he was a d--.” Lmao
Barkley is a treasure man. 😂
Mj was phenomenon. Everyone in the world knew who he was. But Lbj is just an athlete. Only basketball fans know who he is. That's the difference.
Very correct
Not at all correct, unfortunately. Lbj is known worldwide. I can't stand LeBron but to say that he isn't literally one of the most famous people in the world would be wrong.
Great point.
wow, iverson almost made me cry.
AI got me with that speech
"....but man... I wanted to be like Mike"
great video
I was 10 when the Bulls won their first championship. I watched as many Bulls games I could after that. I was fortunate to attend a home game during the 72 win season against the Jazz when Jordan made a behind the back pass to Pippen for the dunk
The jordan and kobe bond on that court , killers respect killers you see yourself in another 👌 great minds think alike if you wanna be great you learn from a great. 🤌
Legend Allan you are bloody one of the best to bro
Jason Kidd: The night before we went out to dinner.
Wow those mind games Michael played, you were doomed right there! You should have never said yes to dinner, he was looking for fuel fir the game.... but if you said No, it would have been even worse! 😅😂
I was born in Illinois 83, so it's all my favorite. I got to see him in person in Chicago 93. MJ is and will always be the GOAT
"If those were my stats, that's great, but we lost, so..."
Exactly. Nobody cares about the stats if you don't get the W.
Great vid!
🐐
It was the ‘rock the baby’, “cradle” dunk…he jumped so high, so fast that he literally flew past the basket…and then seemed to remember, in midair, “oh yeah, while I’m here, let me throw it down!”…
Mesmerizing!!! Still to this day; then he smiled…MJ, greatness to follow.
Love these Jordan stories
Todas estas leyendas y más que faltaron , siéntense orgullosas ,ustedes fueron quien crearon a ese monstruo llamado Michael Jordan
Great video I know this generation is trying to erase Jordan’s greatness, but there would never be another player to influence the NBA the culture and the world like Jordan did 🐐💯
Great stories these NBA legends have about Michael Jordan. RIP KOBE.
Man all I can say is RIP Kobe. I still cant believe he's gone.
I'm right there with you... it's so hard to accept.
Kobe and Jordan
Definitely kindred spirits
GOAT recognizes Game
First game... Bulls vs Detroit. Season 1. 6th game of his career.. MANNNNNNN The Very first mega dunk, on the fast break. Most EPIC up to that date. No one had done a Dunk like that, EVER Before... And living in Detroit, it was on the news hardcore.. IT WAS SICK!!!!!!! 1984..
The first time I saw him play I was spending the night at the boys club with my teammates. It was the 82 ACC championship game. I was a fan then and am a fan today.
Dominc said MJ came in there locker and told the hawks player to lace em up,its going to be a long night guys😂
my very 1st time seeing him play was amazing it was like he was play highschoolers & i ask my uncle was he a real person my uncle laughed as hard as a person could laugh 😂
When I was a kid had the luck to live in Chicago during the dynasty.
Used to come home from school everyday and put in the vhs tape. (To air is not human). ✈️✈️✈️
Isaiah Thomas unintentionally talking like and mimicking some of Denzel Washington’s mannerisms and vocal patterns made me laugh so damn hard
I am lucky enough to have been 7 when Jordan entered the league and 18 when he retired from the bulls.. and as a boy from Chicago who had seen many of the greats, jordan is easily the GOAT....
The first MJ game I saw is when he beat my GT Hoyas for the NCAA Championship, I have been MJ number 1 fan for life .
