@@thotslayer9914 I am cool with lots of folks whose ideas are not in complete accord with mine. I don't generally make it a practice to trip those going in my general direction. Until folks are identified as being irrational, there is hope for persuasion, especially when they accept libertarian premises. It is said that many a truth is spoken through false teeth. I applaud truth, no matter the lips it escaped from. Lots of truth in this Remy video. I regard him as one helluva cool (and talented) dude.

I actually lived like Bob in my college years. At least I did not have a mountain of debt when I finally did graduate. This song is reality.

Well considering that the cost of living is way too high and that no one under 50 can even afford basic rent. We are all headed to the poor house. Would rather have sustainable development. For example, business zones with fixed taxes, low cost housing and rental districts near businesses, better public transit and stable healthcare. We also need better water capture and reuse tech, access to better recycling centers, more wilderness areas, green belts, and renewable technologies. The US is far behind other western nations in many areas accept military and computer tech.
@@hackman669 you realize we’ve had the tech and know how right here in the good old USA for DECADES. Any city that wants to could implement these policies. Instead - the cities with the largest tax bases and the most progressive leaning populations routinely elect corrupt leaders who trade back door deals with foreign multinationals and corporate developers for dark money for reelection war chests. If a candidate has political party backing from the GOP or DNC they will NEVER prioritize the people. No man can serve two masters. So believing anyone with a D or an R next to their name when they tell you just one more tax hike and you’ll get your wish list, is about as useful as believing in the Easter Bunny. The answer isn’t Federal policy. The answer isn’t tax hikes. The answer is tossing the parties to the curb and building local policy from the ground up in your own city, town, county etc. If you want to show up one day every two to four years to check an R or a D on a piece of paper for “representation” in DC in order to get all the things you want - you don’t want them badly enough. Get out there and get it done where you are 🤷🏼♀️

My Dad had a few basic rules when I became a teenager; if you need a car to get to work--get a job close to home and ride a bike til you can afford a car--buy some craftsman tools and a car repair manual and make your own repairs--if you want to attend college--start saving your earnings, and if you end up in jail, don't make me your 1 phone call. Many years later, no regrets. 🙂

Another great video, Remy! This one hits a little too close to home, though. I made sacrifices and paid off all my student loans. Now I’m expected to pay for other people’s?! No one’s making them take out these enormous loans! Absolutely ridiculous and frustrating.

Even with an inflated price, private schools cost less per student than public schools cost to the taxpayer, and thats with private schools having much higher paid teachers. So if you want overpriced programs with low quality, let the state handle it...

26% of holders of student debt hold 48% of all student debt.
Over 60% of debtors have incomes above $52001.
34% have incomes above $97000
"Bailing out" student debt would be collusion between the rich and government at the expense of everyone else.
$52,000 is not rich. But I still agree that I should not have to pay for their debts.

It's a classic. By that I mean strategy. The burden of tax falls disproportionally on people who work for a living. So you should definitely play them off against each other and stop them from questioning why other forms of tax aren't collected.

Student loan interest rate should be made the same as our inflation rate - then everyone with student loans would be incentivized to object to our government spending more than it has. You want another government program? It’ll increase your debt directly.
Congress should only be re-electable in terms that debt went down. Spend more than you make, and you lose your job....you know, like real life.
As someone who started college in 2008, had scholarships and financial aid, and a final loan debt of $50,000 (remember, scholarships reduce how much loan debt you need to take on, so it would have been almost $90,000 without them), I paid it all off in 2018.
I saw how wasteful the university was and how they knew they could just keep raising tuition because the government was writing a blank check.
EBE I graduated debt free with zero financial help. I paid my tuition, and my wife’s tuition at the same time. All I was given was a winning culture from my family. Graduated last year.

S asi58 only time will tell! I think she’s a safe one though. After helping an older gentleman tremendously spiritually and emotionally, he offered to pay for all of her educational expenses. She turned him down because it wouldn’t be right to take payment for helping. We have both graduated now, and I don’t think money problems will be an issue. 🤞

Not only is it not right to punish the people who actually are fiscally responsible, but it deincentivizes actually working hard because you expect everyone else will, but eventually everyone would think that and no one would work, the economy would collapse
Student loan debt has become a feminist issue, now that women are getting 2/3 of the degrees and holding 2/3 of the debt. Since feminism is the dominant religion in the West, I'm sure we'll see those loans forgiven eventually.
