An AWESOME compilation of videos from 2024! THANK YOU for your hard work and dedication for recording the history of Amtrak's CARDINAL passing through Southern West Virginia! Incredible work! Worthy of a collaboration with the West Virginia Department of Tourism......they should use some of your videos in the WV advertising campaign!
Well, Jackson your selected videos sure do live up to your final title for 2024 - ‘Best of Railroading 2024’🙃🙃🙃. It was fitting that you started & finished with the Cardinal. However, including steam locos 🚂was awesome too, especially Cass Scenic Railroad with the Shay (Sidewinder) locomotive, sure is a favorite (there’s something special about watching a steam locomotive go thru its paces & letting off steam- just love the sound it makes, especially the whistle). Then off course the various CSX locomotives with various wagons. It seemed like you captured almost all of the very different Amtrak loco livery phases - starting with loco # 163 in Phase V (very bland 👎in my view compared to the other earlier & later paint phases). Good to see Phase III (Pepsi can) loco #160👍. Phase IV loco #164 👍& the various new Siemen Charges in the sharp Phase VII livery👍. So many great catches - especially P42 loco # 174, gee it looks so sharp compared to the ones still in Phase V livery. I’m glad you highlighted that idiot runner who not only ’saw tracks’ but also the front of a speeding loco #130 & still decided to run in front of it (what a stupid thing to do). It was also pleasing to see NC passenger trains as well. I must admit my overall ‘best of’ was the Cardinal with loco # 339 pulling into Charleston with the snow falling (I kept thinking wouldn’t it be just awesome to be on the Cardinal watching the snow falling🌨☃ outside). Can’t not mention your awesome AirCam 👁(especially as it chases the trains) & my all time favorite RailCam (with no water spots💦🙃). Thank you for going back over all your 2024 uploads & selecting ‘Best of Railroading 2024’ 👏- so many awesome catches using various cameras & locations. Thanks For Watching Dennis! 😃😃😃 It's been a very well packed year! Last year's best of railroading video was just 12 minutes long. I couldn't believe it! 😅 I'd say my favorite catches were at Cass, The Hocking Valley, and then in NC for they're high speed trains! Then of course, the Cardinal will always hold a special favorite spot. 😅 I hope to see a few more P42 painted in Phase VII in 2025! I heard Amtrak was starting there new Acela trains in Spring of 2025. Can't wait to see what happens with that! Hopefully some more Amtrak heritage units will make a visit thru WV.
