  • A very fragrant and beautiful rose syrup is so easy to make if you have access to scented roses in your garden.
    Remember to use only organic rose petals. Make sure those roses are pesticide & insecticide free.
    This rose syrup can be kept in the fridge for up to a month. It also freezes well.
    This syrup can be used in many ways:
    - Use it as a cordial. It makes a refreshing drink with sparkling water or milk.
    - Use it in preserves, cocktails, baking, drizzling over pancakes.
    - Whip up double cream with a touch of rose syrup.
    - Try macerating strawberries in the syrup.
    - Drizzle over your French toast.

    Enjoy!

    This video is so calming and I really like the idea of using blueberries for the colour, I was trying to find a way to get it without using food colouring and I'm excited to try this!

    Can I use brown sugar instead ?

    • @cooking-etc
      @cooking-etc  3 года назад

      I think it should be okay to use light brown sugar for this recipe. It might darken the colour of the syrup slightly but it shouldn't be a problem.

      Ask people who have them in heir gardens. People normally don't spray them. If they're natural offer them a little cash or a gift, and most will say just take them.

    any rose will work?

    • @cooking-etc
      @cooking-etc  3 года назад +2

      Yes, this recipe will work well with any colour of roses, as long as they are pesticide/insecticide free.
      Try to use fragrant roses if possible. I like using a few blueberries for colour as they don’t interfere with the fragrance of roses much.
      Before straining the syrup, you could take out blueberries and leave rose petals in the syrup. Then keep it in the fridge overnight: it’ll smell even better. 😊 You can strain the syrup after that.

      As long as they are fragrant and pesticide/insecticide free. If you're using darker colour of roses, you might not need to use any blueberries for colour. Hope this helps. 😊
