Empty Motorway (Southbound trip Past Sheffield on the M1 to the M18)

Super rare empty motorway during an eatly week day morning. There's no greater pleasure than having the motorway all to myself, especially considering its the M1 through Sheffield...

I've never seen the M1 that deserted and I travel on it from 04:30, if only it was that calm all the time.

Do you remember how it was during lockdown? It was like that all the way from J41 to J34 (S) and J35a (N) due to a cloure. I'm a responder and this was filmed as they were about to release both carriageways.

@@ErynKnight I didn't do any motorway driving then, I was either on furlough or working from home. But I do remember the A & B roads being clear of traffic.

It was a really strange time to drive. I drove everywhere as part of my various activities, it was like nothing I'd ever experienced before. So strange.

You know, I used to loathe traffic. Now I remind myself "I'm not _stuck_ in traffic, I _am_ traffic". For some reason, that seems to work and now I just happily sit there and watch the world go by on the opposite carriageway. It's like the rain. I can't change it and wasting energy hating it is only really effecting myself.
