That's right, I drove all the way to Castle Hill and the only usable footage I took ome was of the road I travled to get there... it was super windy!

Raindrops on Glass with Scenery

Rainy days have arrived to underscore the fall into autumn. This was captured with a phone camera, can you belive it!? The sound quality says "yes", but the picture, not so much. How can mobile phones capture such great images, real bokeh and all, but struggle to beat a cheap desk mic..? I think I answered my own question there. They say "half the picture is sound" and they're right... Oh right...

Found this wonderful golfball on my travels in Malta and I loved the whole aesthetic of the ball, juxtaposed with the geometric neo-Mediterranean architecture. I wasn't there long and I have to apologise for the shaking, it was super windy! Oddly enough, as I was using the car as a sort of "wind deflector", I had the boot open and a random dog came along and jumped in. He sat with me for quite ...
The Road from Yesterday's Video (Triq tal Infetti)
Просмотров 30Месяц назад
I took the feedback about including sound in my videos, as I often release stock-like videos of my travels, but realised that I shot a video of a distant monument and all you could hear was the road that wasn't even in shot. It seems that using that video to debut sound recording was a bit silly. So here it is, the noisy road from yesterday's video. Triq tal Infett, Mdina, Repubblika ta' Malta ...

From Paul's Templar Knights to the olden markets by the shores... even the little food stand on Triq Il-Turisti in San Pawl il-Baħar I love the whole island... I miss the hand painted busses though...

An over-proessed HDR-esque timelapse of a sunrise, framed by a tree in the foreground. I wanted to make capture the heat on an inbound heatwave that occured in the weeks that followed. The video was shot from stills taken over 40 minutes. 8 seccond exposure (90° shutter) ND16, f/9, 50 ISO. Camera: Canon 5D Mark IV. Lens: EF 70-200mm F4 L. I love timelapse!

Just nice listening to this on a dark night.
I'm a fan of ambiance tracks too! I hope your nights aren't too dark Peacekeeper. <3
Reminds me of sitting in my car in the rain waiting for someone. Usually concentrate on a couple of rain drops to see which will slide down the windscreen first.
You race rain drops too!?
@@ErynKnight If I am bored enough I will usually find a game to play.
The question is whether it's needing to occupy our minds with "games" because our brains need constant stimuli like old vacuum tubes performing better warm ... or we're both feeble simpletons easily amused by nothing more than half a millilitre of water, some glass, and gravity..? If it's the latter, you should see the fun you can have with a wall, two flies, and a marker pen...
@@ErynKnight Oh definitely the 1st. I need constant Stimuli. I read somewhere it is a sign of high intelligence to play games with anything we find too mundane.
You pretty much just described the Fey of the First World. XD
So relaxing to watch
It's too dry here..thanks for the rain
England has rain to spare. Perhaps I should market it..? Dehydrated English Rain. Just add water...
I wish it could rain all the time
How do you tell someone you're not a Pom without telling them ..? Also, your music is amazing, by the way. I urge anyone reading this to check it out.
Just a moment of calmness and beauty
Sorry I wasn’t around last week, I was busy. We got a warning for arora borealis as south as Tennessee, is that going to hit you? I’m just south of there, no lights for me.
I'm not seeing anything yet in the north of England, but it's pretty overcast.
@@ErynKnight ah, said a couple of days around here, mayhaps there’s still a chance the clouds will break. I’m too close to the equator, but I don’t let being the earth’s belt hold me down!
Exactly the right attitude! Besides, belts are for holding things up. ;)
Seems really early, but 6000 km away so probably a different weather system lol.
It's freezing here at the moment. Germans have their Oktoberfest and we have October Frost. My car door crackled as the ice barrier broke when I opened it this morning.
@ErynKnight Oktobetfrost!🤣 it's kinda surreal but really pretty, thanks for showing us
6,000km is a long way, that's either Winnipeg or somewhere Inuvik. But cold weather is "surreal", and you're in a metric country... you've inadvertently started a mystery... XD
@ErynKnight a bit mundane I'm afraid, just a Midwestern American who doesn't mind converting for clarity. We don't usually get frosted until mid December, it was about 27⁰C here when you posted
I think it is funny that half of them are spinning pretty well while the others are not spinning at all.
I think the brakes are applied to prevent them spinning and overloading the grid. Don't quote me on that though.
Sausages !
Ain't nothin' I love more...
Watch out for the white walkers! (GoT ref)
Mate, that's me on a winter morning. Like not even kidding. I'm Nordic so yep. That's exactly what I look like. XD
Should get your drone out and do Malham cove at Skipton. Great place
For the algorithm eryn. You need to start doing voice overs though.
Commenting for the algorithm - I’m a big fan of JMG and Anna!! 💫🙏
Be careful with ANNA. Rumours have it she's nearly at the tipping point. ;) <3
Are you no longer working on Futurama?
I am, but slooowly. I'm having to do things frame-by-frame in places where telecine and weird interlaced artefacts remain. Also, the non consistent frame rate needs fixing on all episodes because it's animated on "twos", at 12fps, bumped to 24fps and the digital stuff such as 3D model scenes and large environments are animated at 29.97, so they telecine'd the crap out of it where they couldn't just randomly double a frame here and there.
Beautiful and it looks like there is a lot of history there.
There is tonnes of history in Mdina. Outside Rome, it was (arguably) the seat of power at one point.
@@ErynKnight I am a history enthusiast, so I find this really interesting.
Oh awesome. JMG's first love is hitory too. We lugh that when he ran out of past to study, he became a futurist.
Doesn't look real, all the flowers wow
To be fair, that might be my terrible colour processing. I use DaVinci Resolve and it tricks you into thinking it's super easy but before you know it, everything looks flat and pastely.
@@ErynKnight watercolor world lol
I always regret not being a traditional media artist every time I visit Malta as much of feels made for canvas; it's such a beautiful country.
I didn't realize i had missed a few videos. Nice views. Your job on jmg's event horizon just keeps getting better. I often listen to just the beginning and then move on. hehe. (dont tell him)
Ah, I'm totally telling him! <3
When I realize that I gotta chomp down on a video because of a thick accent, or someone being way too excited for the interview; I step back. But yes A.N.N.A telling me that I’ve fallen into a place I will never come back from makes me feel okay about what I have done.
Nothing like existential nihilism to wash our doings away. xD
very nice
Sublime! Thank you for posting this.
Oh, "sublime", one of my favourite words! <3
Should do some with the storms that are coming 😂 you should do something at Howden dam
I would LOVE to, but my car is awaiting a new clutch and won't move be moving any time soon. The garage that has the service contract doesn't have any flatbeds to lift it until NOVEMBER! I'm contemplating just driving it in but I need to sit down and plan a route with downhill facing stops and minimal gear changes. XD
@ErynKnight best thing about Yorkshire you are only 5 minutes away from the countryside in any direction
For the algorithm
Lovely can i use this video sir i am your suscriber and plz will you upload some more video nice and rainy video's 😊
That is lovely. I must try making a timelapse of a sunrise or sunset sometime. I often take single stills, mostly of sunsets because I am rarely up at sunrise.
Beautiful
Nice one, thanks.
Beautiful aerial view, I wonder where that is ?
It's a small village in South Yorkshire called Clayton. I used to commute through it to work years ago and always loved the scenery there.
@@ErynKnight I will look it up on Google. It reminds me of the countryside here in France but with an English flavour. Which makes me miss England.
Ow wow! I drove to Paris last year and it all looked familiar, but had a subtle difference. The only thing I didn't like was the amount of unnecessary stop signs everywhere. We only use stop signs where there would be a danger such as a blind junction.I did love driving in France; it was bliss.
@@ErynKnight Yes France is known for that and its roundabouts 😅 Another region you might enjoy driving through is the Loire Valley, with its castles and charming villages. If you haven’t been there yet, it’s definitely worth a visit.
Make it follow the enhanced opossum.
It's hard to track cam him. Observing him sometimes changes his velocity. Or his location. Or both. Wait.
A few of the Event Horizon sketches are truly among the most bananas and inspired media I’m aware of.
I promise you, it's _EXACTLY_ the same when the mics are off. Well. They're on, otherwise we'd all be talking to ourselves like utter numpties. I mean, we _are_ numpties... well. John is. I'm not. Dunno about Rossy. He might be one too. <3
that is so cool. hehe.
I spotted a tractor that needed a really good clean.
Oh wow! It's practically camouflaged. Looks like a John Deere under all that muck, they'll have to take it to a dealer to get it washed; cleaning prolly requires a software update with a proprietary connector...
Welcome back Erin for the algorithm. First upload in a while
Really cool, and you met a puppy!
I get to meet tonnes of dogs! I'm definitely super lucky.
I remember travelling on the class 155 to Hundersfield University in the 1990's, eventually getting a job designing the modern equivalents many years later.
I wish we had modern trains. The flotsam on our branch lines still have ashtrays aboard.
@@ErynKnight Hopefully we get more investment into regional railways outside the south east and the reopening of lines close by Beeching.
You got a better view than I did. I could see white coloured rays that slowly moved from my home, near Dudley. I got one glimpse of a lilac arc at one stage.
Colectivos saber por noche que haces sordo
Hi there! This is a pretty useful information. I wish i knewd before my mic is stuck with a battery in it. :D Any idea how can i remove the bottom part without using brue force? Can i spray some oil from the bottom part to the spring?
Some WD40 or (better yet) GT85 would help loosen things up, but be sure to clean it afterwards. If you apply the pressure to the XLR plug as you rotate it, it should spread the load across the mic more evenly. Though breakages can still occur. It's definitely worth a try in my opinion though, otherwise the battery will eventually leak and kill the mic. I recommend applying a dot of lithium grease to the threads to prevent it happening again.
@@ErynKnight we tried to use WD40... the problem was damaged threads. After we separate it we cleaned and "repaired" the thread and now we can use it as "new".
Keep an eye on spaceweather for the next category G5 solar storm, who knows when it will happen!

What did the opossum do during the filming process?
He was busy creating the solar storms.
@@JohnMichaelGodier I knew it!
He's under house arrest.
Really pretty! Even down here in the Southern USA states, I managed to see a faint red glow across the night sky. We took some time lapse pics that night and the following night to compare. The pics were very red during May 10, but nothing noticeable during May 11. Also kinda curious, I see some stationary stars in the video in 1080p, one is around 1/3 from the left and 1/3 from the top. I wonder what those are? Quirks of optics, or perhaps some video compression artifacts?
They're probably hot pixels I forgot to remove. They're the bane of my existence when shooting long exposures. I'd love to see yours!
