    Walked down that street so many times, doesn't look like it's changed much in the past 15 years since we first went. Making me nostalgic as we usually stay around Qawra/Bugibba. We used to like to drink on the top by the bus station late afternoon when the sun was starting to go down, where the pink and blue parasols were, lovely.

    We visited Malta in the 90s, and loved it; we found the Maltese people very welcoming
    We stayed in slima , and could.not believe how it had changed,we loved the old buses,
    So sad to see new buses being used.,we visited the Popeyes village,although the name
    Of the village escape my memory,also ta- Ali village,all Nissan huts, with different crafts .

      The old buses had to be changed...I know a bloke that does them up it takes 100.000 euros each bus, its like a hobby to him

    Tourist street indeed Steve, you were meeting loads of them lol. The sports bar opposite the San Antonio is very popular and the Chinese restaurant is really good although the owner is a dour looking Maltese guy. Loved the walk along the street and can't wait to get back there in August although hoping the temperature has calmed down a bit. Glad you had good hols in New Orleans👍

    Hi Steve an excellent video and what a lovely couple you met from the UK and Sam the man who sells tours. I would never travel to Malta in June, July, August or September far to hot for me 37 to 40 to go sightseeing. I was in Malta back in March 2023 and the weather was just perfect for me as it was not to cold or to hot but perfect.

    Used to stay at my brother's summer place across from La Stalla in the old days when we visited but not for the last few years as the area has become run down and very untidy. The Bugibba waterfront is nice for long leisurely walks but Bugibba itself has really gone downhill in my opinion.

    In 2016, we stayed in Bugibba and although we enjoyed it we were surprised how few of the shopkeepers, wait staff etc speak Maltese. As a Canadian-born Maltese I was looking forward to showing off my Maltese but only a handful could converse in the native tongue. :( I guess joining the EU has its good/bad benefits. Hope to be back soon to celebrate my Dad’s 100th birthday. Thanks for sharing your experiences. 🇨🇦

    Hi Steve love the videos, coming to Malta in September and would like to go to Gozo for a few hours , is it possible to get the buses to travel around like in Malta?

    • @EnglishmaninMalta
      @EnglishmaninMalta  Год назад +1

      Yes, absolutely its more easy !! Most of the buses go from Rabat ( victoria ) but maybe you need more then a few hours ? Guess if depends on what you want to do ? Now there is the fast ferry from valletta to Mgarr and mostly your always find a bus waiting there to take you to Rabat , wish you happy travels
