My guy 37 mpg absolutely sucks after downsizing from a Corolla at such a day and age, Toyota be throttlin mpg ATM. Honda cranked out 50mpg highway with their 1989-95 civics but a Yaris 40 years later can pull any more than 37? On top of that, nobody ever saw actual improvements on fuel economy when the Atkinson cycle came out; petroleum companies are absolutely pulling some strings here.
Mines 07 Yaris with 307k on it ...best 1500 $ dollars I ever spent ..2 years of driving it and it still runs like the day I bought it with 240k from original owner...I'm buying another one with 140k on it for 3500 cash
I still have my 94 Toyota 4WD pickup. Starts right up and runs great even on the highway. I replaced the timing chain in 2003 and an alternator belt in 2007. Other than that, I've only spent money on routine brakes and oil changes. Bought it almost 29 years ago.
Man that's impressive. I have a 2004 tundra 2wd SR5 and it's been a good truck. I had the timing belt changed a few thousand miles ago. I don't drive it that much because of the gas mileage, I drive my Corolla. My truck has 134,000 miles on it.
My wife and I had a 2008 Yaris 4 door, we purchased it new and kept it for 10 years. Used it for long trips twice a year from Arizona to the Mid West and Deep South plus daily driving. Replaced the tires twice and battery once. We did nothing to it other than routine maintenance. Sold it in 2018 with over 104,000 miles on it and bought a new Toyota Camry XLE. The fellow we sold it to is still driving it daily. It was our 3rd. Toyota. I have owned 4 and kept them all for years and many miles with those kinds of results. El Mirage, Arizona
Mk2 models all leak oil one way Or another Mk1(which i have) is amazingly reliable Mk3 & 4 are not old enough yet to tell but I'm sure they're super reliable as well.
Damm u guys giving me hope I put alot of miles in since the three years I owned this absolutely love thus car with I knew about this before and I could havd bought more part of the reason I fell in love with toyota again
I'm from the UK,the only Yaris built/made in Japan is the Sport, the rest are made in France & that includes the MK1 Yaris. A few small details are different like the rear wiper on the MK1 is slightly different.
Bought my 07 3 door hatch new for $10,000. Has 220000 on it now and aside from basic maintenance the only problem it ever had was a sticky brake caliper. Reliability Durability Economy the Yaris cannot be beat.
Here in Australia...... I have an 05 Echo 1.3ltr, 5 speed manual. Recently bought for $150.00 with 94,000 kilometres on it The paint was ruined by the original owner's cats so I...... Got it resprayed a brights silver than the original dirty looking Toyota silver I have literally replaced every part on the car bar the suspension as there was nothing wrong with it at all and bearings and hubs Parts, genuine or aftermarket ( good quality aftermarket mostly too ) are easy to find and affordable Just picked up the two remaining parts left that I want to replace from Toyota today. Two engine mounts that were not available in Australia but arrived from Japan in less than a week. Window tint booked in for the new year and finito !! A top little car that I have put about $8000.00AUD into which also includes mags / alloy wheels and top end tyres ( kept at 14 inch as per original steels ) It may sound like a lot but I know the car and it's history and generally speaking, nowadays ? $8000.00 buys you sweet FA in NSW Australia Also....... Generally returns 700 kilometres to a 45 litre tank
The Yaris has been about in Europe for over twenty years in on shape or another, and they are brilliant. They have strong, reliable, dependable mechanicals with good fuel economy, magnificent build quality and ease of service. Most of the European cars will be manual (or stick shift) transmission and are driven by people of all ages from driving instructors to seniors and as a used buy, they are always well looked after well maintained.
It's cars like these plus the Mazda 2 and Suzuki Swift that we should be promoting, Cars that sip fuel, can easily be driven in towns or on long journeys and are reliable. The average car has one or two occupants most of the time. Sure there are big families and drivers that actually need big cars but most households should have one of these as an alternative.
@@scooterbob4432 - I suspect a big part of it is that most driving schools now only teach in automatic cars. I'm a perfect example: Not once was I taught to drive a manual transmission, and as an adult it has never come up because of how common automatics are. I understand how it works, but you wouldn't want me in your car the first time I try manual shifting.
Scotty I tell you my Toyota story: My 2005 Echo(replaced by Yaris later years) served my family til today (2023) with only problem of front shocks leaked and I got them replaced. The original battery died on Dec-31-2018 and was replaced. No one believed this as this was a fairy tale that a car battery can last 13 yrs. But I know it is true as I replaced the battery myself and saw those Japanese wordings on the wall/top of the battery! I live in Canada so sub-zero(C) starting in winter is common. You are right the auto-transmission is lagging and far from zippy to drive but it didn't give me headaches like the Nissan Sentra before it! Thanks for bringing the news to us all these time!
I have a 2013 Toyota Yaris LE and just passed 200k miles have had it for 8 years now and haven’t done any major repairs. No complaints about this car whatsoever
oh ya, I have a 2005 Honda CRV with 115k miles on it , no major repairs, heck, no repairs at all other than changing the rear wheel differential oil and break pads, and oil change every 3-5 k miles. Great car also. No compute crap!
Had a 2012 Yaris Sedan and I loved it, gave it to my nephew and got myself a 2012 Corolla , wonderful car, it was an automatic and really did pick up speed nicely- miss her.
I had a 2103 manual transmission Yaris with 100,000 miles. It had no problems and original brakes in perfect condition. I loved that car (I was 61 years old when I purchased it.) Unfortunately someone ran a stop sign and it was gone. I can not find a manual Yaris to replace it, but I'm still looking.
Great video. I bought a 2012 Yaris hatch brand new and traded it in on a 2017 hatch when I learned they Yaris was being discontinued in the U.S. market. It's got a 5-spd manual and gets about 45mpg in the summer. I wish they still made these tiny cars in the U.S.
I have a 2006 Scion Xa that also came with the 1NZ-FE engine, and it's a 5-spd. It's very similar to the Yaris lol. Love the thing. Every time I think about trading it in for something else I'm reminded how good it has been to me so I don't.
I had a '96 Toyota Tercel and it was my favorite car ever. Everything was manual and mechanical (even down the the rack-and-pinion steering which gave me a workout in any parking lot). Super reliable and fun to hoon. It had about 300k miles on it before I basically gave it away to a friend who basically trashed it.
I have this exact car bought new in 2012 except mine has the auto transmission. It gets 37 mph and currently has just under 100k miles. Never had an issue with this car and have hauled all kinds of stuff with the hatchback. Even with the automatic transmission it’s zippy. I wanted a manual but my wife doesn’t like driving those plus they imported very little 2012 SE trim levels and even less with the manual transmission. Great little car and keeping mine till the wheels fall off.
My wife has a Toyota car with the 1NZ FE engine. She brought it when the car was 6 years old and she has it as her day to day driving car over 5 years now, and it still runs like a dream with No oil burning issues. Yes Scotty I agree with you that if you service that engine by changing the oil on time and use the correct oil it will go on virtually forever. Big up Toyota for that one.
@@clpadel8692 On those Toyota's? Didn't know that, here in the UK people seem to think it's every 12,000m as that's the ave people driver per year....just strange people think that.
My identical Scion xA.....same powertrain....was bought for $3900 in August of 2013.....with 155,000 all-highway miles. Had it now close to 10 years and approaching 280,000 miles. No issues.....looks new.....drives likes new....never had a car like this that doesn't seem to "age".....amazing.
You know what they are surprisinlgy fun to drive on curvy roads. They are so small you can throw them around and just enough power to have fun. I had an 09 and I really enjoyed it
Nope! Here in the UK i have a 2015 Yaris 1.3L CVT and best i got was 58mpg & 40 around town. Same as the manual Yaris! Just change the fluid every 50k & i'll be laughing. Silky smooth too.
The first generation of Yaris was my favorite. The cup holders were under the vents and would keep your drinks cold/warm. Plus they got better MPG. The manual got the best but the automatic was right behind it.
Now that you mention it you're right about the 4th gear. I live in central Indiana and while it's not as cold as most places in the northern part of the country it does get cold in the winter time. Until I read your comment I had completely forgotten about that final gear not wanting to kick in until the transmission was warmed up. But in retrospect it wasn't a big deal and the car really was bulletproof.@@91m
I have a Toyota Matrix 2007 with 177,000 miles on it. But it let me down the other day I ended up having to get a new water pump but you know for 177,000 miles. I can’t complain even the air conditioner still works fine. Never ever replaced a belt. Can you believe that? Exterior paint which is blue looks good. Interior has no rips, cracks or scratches. It’s been the most reliable car I have ever had. I have had no problems with it other than replacing a couple batteries and replacing the brakes. It did have a couple recalls but Toyota took care of that. It’s an automatic that I bought new and I am so glad I did.🙂
A year ago I bought a '94 Corolla GTouring wagon JDM in pristine condition. Less than 10k kilometers documented by Japanese strict inspection system. Virtually new not even a hint of rust. 1500cc motor and CVT auto trans... it has a tachometer, A/C and power windows. I've been afraid to rev it over 4k rpm, because I'm not a mechanic. Had a time finding an oil filter for it. No power but I live on an island with mostly two lane roads... not an issue.
I had an ‘05 ECHO hatchback and put 250000 miles on it, relatively trouble free. I wish they still made them. It’s one of those cars you really could keep forever. Thanks Scotty!
got a 2014 toyota yaris base hatchback with auto trans in 2016 with 42k miles for $9k. yaris are the taxi of se asia and run forever. ex hertz rental. made in france. added cruise control kit for $150. 3k mile oil changes with semisynthetic 5w30. last year at 60k miles got new tires & battery, alignment, changed out auto trans, brake, coolant fluids. roomy, airy, 32mpg, peppy enough with at, but best part is…crank windows. i will keep my yaris forever.
I bought a new loaded Yaris with the stick in 07 and I loved that car. I also bought a 12 Yaris SC with the automatic and I love that one too. I have a 492 hp Shelby Kit Cobra Car that I built with 512 ft tq and the Yaris is just a fun little car. All 3 cars mentioned above weight about the same at 2,200 pounds BUT I can only use about 10% of the Cobra's ability. I can use 90% of the ability of the Yaris
My family owns a 1999 Toyota Yaris with the 1.0 engine (J Vin number so "made in Japan") which we keep as a backup in case any of our main cars are in the garage or broken down, my younger brother is currently driving it and to say he drives it hard would be an understatement, he regurlary drives it near the red line and has put 40k miles on it in the last 2 years doing deliveries, he changed the oil after a 20k interval once, anyways I sat in it the other day and let me tell you that engine was running so sweet I was quite amazed as I expected it to be worn down considering how my brother is so careless with it, the engine has 150k miles on it and its spent 90 percent of its life doing city driving. Just a couple of months ago he did a 400 mile round trip on the motorway/highway with it, I spent about a year doing 60 miles every day on the motorway it never skipped a beat, the interior is perfect no rattles or anything, man that thing is built extremely, extremely well
I have the yaris and the honda fit......bought the fit brand new....the yaris was an x rental car.....guess which one has NEVER been in for a repair? The yaris is so reliable nothing has ever needed repaired.....the honda while still a good car has had a few trips to the shop for repairs ! bothe cars have around 80 k miles I sold the honda and kept the YARIS!
2007 Yaris here. 400,000 km, oil change every 3500 miles. Does not use a measurable amount of oil on the dipstick between changes. Auto trans still great, trans drain and fill every 20,000 miles with Toyota WS. Bulletproof little car.
A master toyota master technician has said that the automatic is actually better than the clutch, which was surprising to me but he had said the manuals in these are weak
My wife has the sedan version. 135,000 miles, five speed stick. Only issue was the rear wheel bearing hubs went out around 100,000 miles, but those were easy to replace. Get the manual trans version!
@@walterfick157 dayyum im.going to keep getting them.than but I heard tgey are hard to get now since the economy I have one but I would also like a second one to try to build
2017 hatch, spanish built, had to do both rear wheel bearings in less than 100K. my 2012 japanese built yaris hatch only had to have a wheel bearing because i slid it into a curb hard. in 265K miles it needed two alternators, two batteries, a wiper arm assembly, wiper motor( seattle lots of rain) and a water pump. it was starting to smoke on startup if left sitting for a week and the trans(auto) would slip if I got it hot pushing it hard over the mountain passes(lots of shifting) (solution: downshift manually on the climbs occasionally & don't use cruise on the passes). other than that it was just routine maintenance stuff.
@@OndreaS123 my 2007 is Japan built... only my previous mentioned issues... paintwork starting to show age as well as it lives outside but garaged at night....once again excellent little runaround car👍
Scotty, Toyota sell the even smaller 5 door Aygo in Europe. It is a perfectly usable 2+2 - as long as the +2 aren't too big. Fuel economy is terrific and it has the same 5 years/100,000 miles warranty as the bigger Toyotas. In France it enjoyed the best car advert I have ever seen. A city street scene had a Cafe Aygo, a Hotel Aygo, a young man wearing an Aygo University T shirt, a street name sign "Rue St Aygo"......
Scotty I got a Daihatsu 1.5 sx which has the same engine. Little pocket rocket. Now done 120,000 miles, nothing ever breaks. Had the car 10 years. 0 - 60 in 9.8 sec.
The owner of this Yaris is very smart! These quick, smaller cars are very popular in other countries. The mods that he did just make it that much nicer! You can really enjoy a car that handles that well and being standard shift, very cool!
My wife got the 2000 model Yaris with a 1.0 manual 5fwd transmission. She has it 18 years doing 293k and going strong. It's small, zippy and runs like a thief as we say in my country🇹🇹
I bought a base model yaris back in 2007 or 2008 that had a manual trans. It was fine for a daily commuter car, but it definitely wasn't sporty. I traded it in the spring of 2009 for a corolla that both me and my wife could drive (automatic). We're still driving the corolla.
I bought an '08 Yaris hatchback S new. It still runs great. My '85 MR2 is even smaller than the Yaris but much more peppy. My '85 CRX Si is about the same size but it's a lot peppier too.
My friends rental car business had fleets of these & they held up really well & lasted far longer than most domestic vehicles & years longer than other cheap imports such as Nissan sentra & versa ,& definitely anything Hyundai/KIA
I live in Denmark, and i have a yaris from 2015 with a staggering 1.0 engine producing 69 horsepower. Its my first car and i love it. it's definitely not fast, but it is reliable!
I replaced my worn out '92 Mitsubishi Galant with a used '07 Yaris last September. It had just under 200,000 when I bought it from Woodbridge Auto Auctions in Woodbridge, Virginia,. I drove my Mitsubishi from Tennessee up there ( I found the Yaris online) and traded in the Mitsubishi (they gave me $300 trade in on it) on the Yaris. I drove it home, and was amazed at how peppy it was! I followed a group of cars running fast, sometimes we were running 100, and I stayed right with them! I'm amazed by this car, and they were only asking $3900 for it! It has never been wrecked, had new brakes, tires and clutch, interior is in great shape, and the air is cold! And yes, it's a 5 speed. I absolutely love the car, it's really great! In five months it hasn't burned a drop of oil, and I drive it hard! I HIGHLY recommend this car if you want fun reliable transportation!
My Echo, on which the Yaris is the heir of, has 314 thousand miles. It's finally showing some wear. I had to fix the transmission (manual) at around 200. The injectors needed cleaning and re-sealing at around 310. The water pump has just started making noise at 314. I bought it used for 10 grand. With fluid changes and regular maintenance, I've paid around 22 cents a mile. Not too bad. Their great little cars. Way better than any beetle.
i have a Toyota Yaris 2021 but the dealer in Saudi Arabia is a piece of work! we dont have a steering wheel buttons and a cruise control forgot to mention its the top spec
but the cruise control is already in the computer all i need is the stick a couple of wires and the steering wheel buttons all from Ali Express, and a genuine clock spring from a parts dealer, should cost around 120usd
I'm still driving my 2004 Toyota Echo(pre Yaris) till this day, service every second year, no break downs, wipers still work. You say it's for old people? I'm almost 40, I started driving it when I was 21.
I have Toyota ECHO 2004 manual 4 door with 566k km. Replace some bushings, Shocks, radiators, Throttle cleaning and change oil. It Runs Fine. Toyotas are strong durables Reliable cars.
I was told by a Toyota salesman they stopped making Yaris available here in Canada as they make more profit per unit on bigger cars like RAV4 highlander etc. and they can only make so many units.
Yes, this is a very economical car on gas. Back in 2003, we bought Toyota Echo and I think Yaris and Echo have the similar engine as our Echo gets fantastic gas mileage of about 37 miles on highway and still running strong, no major problems so far. So Yaris must be just as good as Echo.
'09 Yaris 1.33 100hp with 170k km on it, still drives smoothly, only problem is that it uses some oil. Planning on doing oil changes Every 6 months to try to lessen the oil consumption.
At 2:38 where you show the instrument panel on the driver's side. That setup is similar to the Matrix instrument panel. The earlier Yaris's had the speedometer in the center of the dash. Kinda odd, but stil useable.
I have a 1.0 SOL 1999 and 1.5 hybrid 2017 since new, 143 and 23 Kmls, only normal services. The hybrid has done 50 mls/g in 6 years, mostly short trimps and sometimes very harsh conditions during winter time.
Toyota Yaris can be built from france or japan and some of the parts are actually different from each other. If you ever work on it be sure to give all the details and also your VIN to your local car parts store. (For example the brake drums from the rear wheels are different from the japan and france version)
I got a 2007 Yaris. Love that thing. Got it with only 86k miles on it, currently I have it at 114k miles. Gonna try to keep this car running for years.
Use Castrol Magnatec,i put it in my 2002 with 70,000 back in 2017,made the engine so much quieter! It wasn't noisy at all,not had any issues either,i was amazed.
Coming up on 600,000 miles 2009 yaris only replaced alternator and O2 sensors. Still drive it 205 miles round trip a day. Did not like the ideal of a small car at first . I don't know what I would do with out it now.
I'm 6' 5" so tiny cars and I don't really get along. That's why I was kind of disappointed that Lexus dropped the GS. It wasn't as big as the LS but it had a lot more room than the IS.
The ultimate Yaris is the GR Yaris. A 3-Cylinder, In-line, DOHC 4-Valve 6-speed manual 280hp monster homologation special road going version of their WRC winning car.
Scotty, I'm waiting for the day you get your hands on a Toyota Aygo 1.0L, 3 cylinder engine with a 5 speed manual gearbox, but I don't think they sell them in the USA. They're very common and popular in the UK with lady drivers and they're very reliable. Hardly the fastest car in the world, but fun 😄
I'm from Europe. I bought a new yaris in 2020. I'd like to see the back seats move like on the 2009 model. Mine has 6 speeds, 1.5 liters. I don't like rigid gear changes. The rest is great.
I have a 2008 and a 2012 Yaris. Both are hatchbacks and manual transmissions but unfortunately, they don't make this model anymore. Both of mine are pushing 300k troublefree miles and I want another one. Maybe Toyota will wake up and start producing them again.
@@jayislander Good luck finding them. And I'm leery of buying a used vehicle with a manual tranny as most people don't know how to drive a car with one without having a premature failure.
@@91m I bought one new in 09. Had to sell it 2 years later. I’ve always missed it. I just found an 09 one owner with 62k on it, It’s my fav, and I’ve had a Corolla Camry and a Tundra. I’d bought a dozen new, US brands over the years, but there’s nothing like the peace of mind that comes from a Toyota
I bought my manual transmission 2006 brand-new and put 110k miles in 2 years, doing delivery. On a good day, I'd easily go past 110mph, but limiter would kicked in. It'll get 37mpg while zooming around the highway at 100mph. That double overhead cam engine is a highway gem.
Press the "Sport" button, it can really takes off entering highway lanes. I have a 2017 iA, 4 door sedan made in Mexico, same 1.5L engine. Now the meter reads an average of 42.1mpg after 11/1 reset.
I'm so glad you did a video on this car! I just bought a 2012 SE and even though it's a little slow, has a noisy interior, has a 4 speed 😩, after I lowered it, it handles really well, I get about 29mpg mixed, parts are cheap and plentiful and it looks sporty. I actually traded in my turbo Genesis coupe with 80k miles and that gave me about 22mpg mixed for this Yaris with 124k and I don't regret a thing.
@@RRLV434 the Genesis was burning a hole in my wallet because of the gas and that particular engine was known for blowing up out of nowhere, so I figure I'd cut my losses and get something reliable.
I know what Scottie talking about. I brought a 82 Ford mustang, it wasn't like the ford mustang back in the day and now. I brought it had 50,000 mile on it. After i bought it,, 2 weeks later. The catalytic converter went out. I live in Colorado. Colorado is a place they have emissions inspection. Had to put in at least $200 every year because it would not pass emissions inspection. You had to at least have that much in emissions repair. What a pain
Had to do a double take on this one. Misheard 1NZ-FE. I thought he said 1MZ-FE and immediately thought, "what maniac put the V6 in a Yaris and where can I get one?"
@@djkenny1202 yup. basically its like this: Toyota = slightly more expensive, less power, much better paint and better made (if materials are the same, it's designed better/seems to stave off rattles longer). Honda = cheaper, more engineering went into weight distribution, handling, and sports oriented driving. Metals and paints fall to the wayside. interior lasts nearly as long, different things fall short (dash lights usually. more screens = more burnout). panel gaps atrocious. (my 2018 civic had rust under the door plastics pretty much a year later. car was never in that much rain. the subframe had this gross looking welding splatter under the black paint from the factory which all later rusted too. fine car, crappy manufacturing)
@@alikiyani420 6 speed manual. never had a problem with it except that it felt very lame to operate. soft and weightless, no notch to it. it felt like shifting a home arcade toy made of rubber. probably because it was held together with plastic bushes and shift cables, not solid linkages like the old ones.
I own a Daihatsu Sirion 1.5 sx auto, this is a rare model in the UK. The Yaris is basically the same car with a different body. If you get a chance Scotty look it up as I think mine looks better. It does 0-60 in 10 seconds even with the auto box and 52 mpg at 70 mph on our motorways, keep up the great show
That's my car! Almost 300k and no leaks. I've had to replace the usual parts that wear out like the clutch, alternator and I think the ac condensor may be going out, but dayam, I can't complain. They also rip with aftermarket wheels and sticky tires. I love it.

I still have my 94 Toyota 4WD pickup. Starts right up and runs great even on the highway. I replaced the timing chain in 2003 and an alternator belt in 2007. Other than that, I've only spent money on routine brakes and oil changes. Bought it almost 29 years ago.
Sounds great
Toyota truck and timing chain? That's luxury right there
They are built to last, like Scotty has been telling us
Man that's impressive.

Just picked up the two remaining parts left that I want to replace from Toyota today. Two engine mounts that were not available in Australia but arrived from Japan in less than a week.

Americans love fast sports cars with automatic transmissions. A 5 speed stick shift is just too complicated for them to operate.
Was kinda thinking of getting a third car for the family & these things don't show up in used car listings. No owners wanna let them go.
Especially the 5 speeds
Nice I have a 09 front shocks leaking have to be them changed soon as well but works great
I have a 2013 Toyota Yaris LE and just passed 200k miles have had it for 8 years now and haven’t done any major repairs.

The first generation of Yaris was my favorite. The cup holders were under the vents and would keep your drinks cold/warm. Plus they got better MPG. The manual got the best but the automatic was right behind it.
Second gen cup holders also in that spot
Both 2nd and 1st fen yaris are nice with it
Cupholder right in front of the vent for A/C just makes sense! I love it too!
The automatic was junk .
Now that you mention it you're right about the 4th gear. I live in central Indiana and while it's not as cold as most places in the northern part of the country it does get cold in the winter time. Until I read your comment I had completely forgotten about that final gear not wanting to kick in until the transmission was warmed up.
@0:45 Every time Scotty reads the "Made in Japan" designation he should insert the chorus of angels sound effect.
When I was a kid, I’m 64 now, My Pops would say anything inferior in quality was “Japaneseie”. Time’s sure have changed.
Press the "Sport" button, it can really takes off entering highway lanes. I have a 2017 iA, 4 door sedan made in Mexico, same 1.5L engine. Now the meter reads an average of 42.1mpg after 11/1 reset.
My 2015 1.3L CVT here in the UK has a sport button, very useful. It's silky smooth.
As someone who went from a Honda fit to a Toyota matrix, I want a Yaris
I rented one of these on a trip in the northwest. Had a blast driving that little firecracker about 800 miles in 3 days.
I had a 2008 Yaris that got totaled. I miss it to be honest. Especially the excellent gas mileage.
I've a 2005 Echo. It's been with me since new.
250000 miles. I'm keeping it.
Should have kept the Genesis
@@RRLV434 why
@@RRLV434 the Genesis was burning a hole in my wallet because of the gas and that particular engine was known for blowing up out of nowhere, so I figure I'd cut my losses and get something reliable.
Hope they handed you a few Bills back.
What method did you use to lower the car?
I've a 2008 with 160K miles in it. It still runs but the body could use some work. Sadly the new 2023 Yaris HEV isn't sold in the US.
I like that the engine bay looks almost the same as the Honda fit with just a few things kinda shuffled around to look different.
Fit is roomier and more versatile, handles and acceleration is better
@@twrcrew8852 did u get the civic with a cvt or Manual transmission?
@@alikiyani420 6 speed manual. never had a problem with it except that it felt very lame to operate. soft and weightless, no notch to it. it felt like shifting a home arcade toy made of rubber. probably because it was held together with plastic bushes and shift cables, not solid linkages like the old ones.
@@twrcrew8852 what u think of a vitz 2009?
I own a Daihatsu Sirion 1.5 sx auto, this is a rare model in the UK. The Yaris is basically the same car with a different body. If you get a chance Scotty look it up as I think mine looks better. It does 0-60 in 10 seconds even with the auto box and 52 mpg at 70 mph on our motorways, keep up the great show
I used to own a Yaris 09, now I've got a recent Prius C, both seem to have a similar 1NZFE engine
Which is better
I think they are the same but the C is just a hybrid.
That's my car! Almost 300k and no leaks. I've had to replace the usual parts that wear out like the clutch, alternator and I think the ac condensor may be going out, but dayam, I can't complain. They also rip with aftermarket wheels and sticky tires. I love it.
Toyota Echo😄
544344 miles still going ...
😮
No freaking way!!
What year?
And what transmission type? Automatic, or manual transmission?
