I am glad that there are a lot of riders who admire the sharp futuristic, agressive design and build like the mt07 so more of the refined and classic looking bikes like the CB650R stay on the market and I dont have to race with the speedy bois and the wheely fanatics when I am fishing for my "new" bike.

      @@gepixelt7712 the vulcan s is 490lbs wet, the z650 is only 410, it probably feels much better on a z650. I practiced and passed my test on an MT-07. The bike is great fun. The engine is the big draw for this bike, great torque, sounds amazing, not too intimidating for beginners. It's quite light too and felt it easy to flick about.
    I bought the CB650R 4 days ago and I couldn't be more pleased. It is more comfortable, the quality of parts and finish is better than the MT-07 particularly the brakes and suspension, not to say the MT-07 is bad, it isn't, it's a lot of fun, but the Honda is a better overall bike. you have to like revving and engine up that high with those 4 cylinder midsize engine bikes.....if you just ride for fun, then its fine, but if you are commuting you are not getting up that high with the traffic alone thus lacking a bit of power....personally i like to shift more quickly, just doesn´t sound right revving up second gear to 10k....to each their own i guess

      @Sambasuper 4 года назад +3

      @@dinohuntr851 still loving the bike and not had any problems with it so far. Loads of fun on days out round the country roads. The only issue I can say that the Honda lacks in compared to the Yam is it's power usability. This is especially noticeable around traffic. When I need a blip of power I have to have it in high revs so around 8000rpm and it can be a bit tiresome flicking up and down the gears. With the Yam I could just be lazy and blip the throttle and get all that torque and power from about 4000 or 5000 rpm. Basically the power is more usable on the Yam. I do redlining the Honda on slip roads. Wakes me up in the morning.

Here is why I took this decision: I had to decrease te power due to my license and being a 2 cilinders engine I still have most of the torque. Once I will upgrade the license, I can bring it back to full power, It will still be a good motorcycle, 75 hp are enough to have fun. In my country this motorcycle is one of the most sold, so when I'll decide to sell it the market is good and the prices won't lower too much. I suggest it to every beginner, super fun, very handly, nice look, and gives a lot of satisfaction.

    I'd ditch my MT07 in a second for that sexy CB650R but in Australia the CB650R only comes in completely lame ass 35kw restricted form. The whole point of a 4-cyl is the better top end power, so there's absolutely no point in building a high rpm ripper of a motor and then completely chopping off the top end. We have restricted MT07's too, but they retain the massive torque of the full power version.

    A bit disadvantage for the MT-07 since you owned the first version not the 2nd version (2018-current), a couple of technical and aesthetics improvements were made...

    I was stuck between these two, corrosion issues with the mt-07 and a massive dealer discount making a new cb650r only a few hundred more than a used mt07 was what swayed me.

M4 exhaust and a bunch of other goodies on her (Kandi is her name, You know sweet like candy but sexy like a stripper) and I absolutely love her. So easy to ride and you bet she's a Dank Wheelie Machine!

    Interesting that the CB comes with Michelin tires, here in Europe, they ship it with Metzeler Roadtec 01, which really suit the bike well.

    • @mrvwbug4423
      @mrvwbug4423 5 лет назад +3

      Tires are rarely universal across markets or even production lots. On the same model year MT-07s I've seen everything from random trash Dunlops, to Michelin PR3s, to Bridgestone S22s. Kawasaki is usually the most consistent, but that doesn't mean they will spec great tires. All the Kawi 650s come with the same Dunlop D222s which are trash. The Versys 1000 always comes with Bridgestone T31s which are a decent sport touring tire, though maybe not quite to the level of a Road 5 or Angel GT.

    Im in the market for a bike. I adore the style of the CB650R. I have always wanted an inline 4 bike and Honda is synonymous with reliable and durable. Yamaha just does it different. Honestly probably going for an MT 07 because they sound nasty with a full system and that torque will do it. I'm not good enough of a rider to tell the suspension difference really but i have spoke to a few people about making it more balanced. Thanks for your impressions internet man.

      Depends if you want Wheelie / torquey fun bike or a high revving refined bike. The Honda is definitely better build quality and a nicer engine but the MT07 is arguably more fun depending how you ride. MT07 is way better for town riding too imo. Honda is better for countryside and long straight roads.

      @@thatstheguy07 Quoted from Google
      "The CB650R replaces the competent but dowdy-looking CB650F. The riding position is more aggressive than the CB650F. The handlebar is moved 0.5 inch forward and 0.3 inch down, with footpeg position moved rearward 0.3 inch back and 0.2 inch higher. Seat height is the same at 31.9 inches."

The gear will go with you to your A2 bike or whatever comes next (just my opinion as an 'merican ;)

    What dealerships are you going to where you can get a bike MSRP at $7500 out the door for only $8k? I live in the DFW area and literally every dealer around here charges anywhere from $1,000 at the low end all the way up to $1,800 at the Triumph dealership in dealer fees. I was pricing a Trident yesterday and with the model I was looking at ($8,200), they quoted me an OTD price of $10,100 lol
