Everytime i hear it, my ears tell my heart, they love mohagany - other woods may look prettier, but its the sound I want!

Same, but I'm not in love with the top on this guitar. Too much twang for me. Maybe it's the strings which might be on the lighter side.

I have a 2008 Indian Rosewood Martin D-28 Marquis NT (Adirondack Top) 6 string Dreadnought. Just a stunning powerhouse tone with great separation. It has that special Martin bass whump tone. I also have a 1996 Indian Rosewood over Sitka Guild JF-55 NT (now designated as a F-55) Jumbo 6 string acoustic. Wonderful tone & REALLY loud. I have a Mahogany over Sitka 1979 Guild F212XL NT 12 string. It has a room filling chime tone & is a total cannon. Will not top out with aggressive strumming. Finally there is my Breedlove Custom built Cocobolo over Adirondack Jumbo 6 string. It has a very notable bass tone with loads of power when strummed. All sound well beyond my expectations. I play everyday and love each guitar's unique tone. As to looks... Cocobolo hands down. It also delivers the most punch and I like it best when strummed. As to tone... the Mahogany 12 string is just amazing. Resembles a harpsichord a bit. Guild seems to make the best 12 string acoustics and this one is RI made. Still, the Martin is my go to guitar for it's deep bass whump and separation. Best when finger picked. It really depends on what style or tune I look to play.

I personally like the mahogany and I'm a little surprised but I love the warmth out of the woods there and then tonality of it the more kind of bass ear warmers do it I really love that guitar. You play beautifully thank you

The main perception is Santa Cruz guitars are all beauties and sound great.
Just a different taste makes the difference.

Give me cocobolo. It seemed to hold up well to the strumming while not losing the intricate picking. Good match for a versatile instrument. Might prefer the mahogany on a dread.

Great comparison! 1 to 2 are close. Could go either way. I like the woody sound of the Hog and the punch of Coco. Surprised by the EIR being outshines by so much. Would rate them
    1 or 2 Cocobolo / Mahogany
    3. EIR

great video! I thought it would be easy to pick a favorite but it's not. I think i'm leaning toward the mahogany. Also, great playing!

3 stunning examples of tonewoods. That Indian Rosewood back is one of the best I've seen. it has a Brazilian look to it.

I’m usually a rosewood guy but I’d have to go with mahogany on this one.
