    What a fun - and challenging! - pick :-) no gutting of this one as it was kindly leant to me by my friend KeyMOE, who I’m pretty sure wanted it returned with its pins and springs still included 😂😂😂

      Hi Lock Noob, i already 6 month learn picking dimple lock. do you have any recommendation best lock pick tool for dimple lock? i already use goso lock pick. the design is good, but the quality material is bad and easy get crooked.

      @LockNoob  6 лет назад

      Too Cool hard to say... if you have the time and a good eye, hand. Finishing a set of Honest Dong Shi picks is the best - if you want good finish on a budget, the Sparrows Black Flag set are worth a look and if money is no object, spooxe or souber do high end kits

      Wow Nice Recommendation. I will look that to decide which one is the best for me. Thank You So much for the recommendation.

    i always find dimple locks fascinating, the guts and the way they work. i consider these to be alien tech.no point opening em because its a mess inside

    • @two_tier_gary_rumain
      @two_tier_gary_rumain 6 лет назад +2

      A normal dimple lock is no different to an ordinary wave lock. The only real difference is that the orientation of the key to the pins is at 90 degrees between the two. Comparing the keys in side profile should make that clear.

    • @LockNoob
      @LockNoob  6 лет назад +2

      These pin in pin locks are complicated, but most standard 6 pin dimples are no more complex than a standard pin tumbler :-)

    • @two_tier_gary_rumain
      @two_tier_gary_rumain 6 лет назад

      Correct. And you can get pin-in-pin with standard pin tumblers too.

    Very nicely pick my friend, like you say definitely a tricky lock to pick, but so rewarding when that last inner pin sets, fantastic locks definitely one of my favourites, great video

    What a fantastic pick. It wrestled with you there for a short time.

    • @LockNoob
      @LockNoob  6 лет назад +1

      It did. I have picked it much quicker, but I wasn’t embarrassed by this time and thought it was worth showing as is without re-shooting until I got the perfect pick :-)

    Seemed like a difficult lock, although I'm not experienced with dimple locks. Nice job!

    • @LockNoob
      @LockNoob  6 лет назад

      This is at the higher end of difficulty for dimple locks before you get to really, really tough ones like Kaba Quattro, Kaba 20, Etc Etc which I have no hope of picking... yet...

      @@LockNoob OK guys, it seems that simply ANY lock can be picked with the right tools, if you're experienced enough? What would you pick to secure your own home considering you know how "easy" it is for yourself to pick locks like this one? Is there any euro cylinder lock you are unable to pick (yet)? I even saw a video where someone picked Mul-t-lock 3DS which I though should be more secure than the Interactive line?
      Please tell me, I need to choose a lock for myself, my own door are locked with a very sub-par Richter Euro Secure lock, which is terrible according to my findings. On the other hand, when I started to look for a better lock, I found videos like yours, so I am really stuck now. Is it worth buying a more expensive lock?

    •  4 года назад

      I see you talked about Kaba locks in one of your previous comments, do you consider Kaba experT pluS secure enough? Or is it like even those mul-t-locks are "good enough", because in fact there are not many people able to pick them like you are? 🤷‍♂️ 🤷‍♂️ I am very puzzled 🙁 😀

    Not sure if it's going back to keymoe or not but I just found the two original keys for it if ether of you wants them?

    • @LockNoob
      @LockNoob  6 лет назад

      It’s back with him :-) im sure he’d like more keys if they work with the lock :-)

    A very nice pick,do you always have to pick the outside pins 1st before the inners ??I have been playing with this type of lock for a couple of weeks and I am over setting something? I still cannot properly read the key which may help,regardless well done,billbobaggins.

    • @LockNoob

    It seems to me that despite the odd appearance of the key way and key, a dimple lock is no more secure than a standard pin lock? Is it just that copying keys is harder? By the way, I've only picked pin locks, I intend to get some flags and have a go though.

    • @LockNoob
      @LockNoob  4 года назад +1

      In principle you are right, but in reality, manufacturers tend to add more security features in dimple locks I find

    nice pick. but you lost me about the key magnet making the lock easier to pick. (How so?)thanks for sharing.

    • @LockNoob
      @LockNoob  6 лет назад

      Well, it makes it more like a 9 pin lock rather than a 10 pin lock as there is one pin in position 1 and it’s not pin-in-pin :-)

    • @pnutdunne81
      @pnutdunne81 6 лет назад +1

      The interactive element sets the pin higher than the keyway, making it very difficult to make an unauthorised copy of the key. It makes picking easier as the inner and outer pin in the interactive chamber both set at the same height, and that height is known to be very high. The interactive chamber can be determined without seeing the key by feeling along the bottom of the keyway for the spring-loaded cone that works on the interactive element.

    • @LockNoob

      Really? I hear mixed opinions, but not many of people actually using them to pick... people love a bandwagon, sadly

    Hi
    Why you didin't turn 360°?

  • @GxAxV
    @GxAxV 6 лет назад +1

    That lock is far from pristine lol I made it for my bedroom door! (Note if you turn the thumb turn then you can’t use the key!) here is a vid of me picking the exact same lock =D ruclips.net/video/xbWXaoKasA0/видео.html

    • @GxAxV
      @GxAxV 6 лет назад

      When I say I made it I mean I have stripped out one side of the lock and bodged other branded parts into it to make it a thumb turn.
