I never had the G1 version back in the day, so it's really awesome that the Generations line is really checking a LOT of boxes I missed as a kid, especially these big guys, like Fortress Maximus, Trypticon, & Scorponok (2020)! I had, and still have G1 Metroplex & Omega Supreme figures for my G1 display, but I also have their newer Titan class figures, having JUST gotten Omega last week!

The Titans return line I think means that the Titans as in metroplex, fort max, trepticon, ans scorpinoc return to the fight or something.

Ive had mine in the box since christmas 2016 when it was on sale because of all the reviews of people saying this fort max is bad. Its refreshing to hear a positive review. I don't care about the alt modes either. He will be displayed as a robot.
Great video review for 2016! I got my Ft Max in 2019 and added additional gun and pistol add ons. I absolutely LOVE this titan. My 1st favorite is my Takara Metroplex, but this guy is fun to mess with as well. I use micromasters and miniture TF figures to give all my titans a more city based feel, and it works out great. I'm just glad I got all the titans at retail price rather than the prices they are going for now.
I bought Cog...which lead to me buying this figure. Yeah, for a base figure, not much on gimmicks, very lackluster. The bot mode is the best thing about him. I've transformed Metroplex and Trypticon and can see all sorts of fun stuff that can be played with them. I've noticed that the red panels on his legs seem to unpeg a lot and the legs seem to have pegs to latch together for ship mode...but would attach due to other plastics in the way.
I personally ordered the Takara reissue of the original G1 Fort Max (just yesterday!) as this WAS the holy grail of the Transformers when I was a kid...along with the Flagg of course that I never got. But, I am so glad this was reissued and I have the chance finally to own it. As for the new version...I just don't know. I think the real thing that bothers me with these new renditions is that it seems there is too MUCH detail. I know that sounds weird or maybe stupid to some people (and probably definitely to younger viewers) but I grew up with Transformers having some detail...but not that much. They looked great (to me) and still do. Its like they have stepped over the fine line between good detail and excessive detail...if that makes any sense to anyone but myself :)

Hey Mike, I'm Chris's friend Danny, he told me about your channel and I just subbed to your channel. Love your approach to doing a toy review, especially this video on Fort Max. I was born in 72 and grew up in the 80's when times were good with great cartoons that supported the toy lines. I can tell you put a lot of love into your videos as a collector so keep up the good work. I myself have a wife that lets me enjoy collecting......makes life easier that's for sure! Lol
