I had an open ac on my '14 Street Bob, but I've since picked up a '12 Road Glide Custom and I honestly don't mind the football shaped stock cover, so I think this will be perfect. My only issue with these kind of ac units is the fact that in some cases, the mounting screws can possibly vibrate out and get sucked into the throttle body causing all kinds of chaos. I've had a couple riding buddies have this happen to their rides. I'm glad I checked out this video because I like the fact that you redesigned the shape so if, God forbid, one comes loose, it shouldn't get sucked in. Major bonus. The downside: I don't think I can rerun an external breather system with the way the backplate is designed. NOT a major bonus. I think you just got a new customer though. Now to scope out those headpipes of yours......
Looks like a big improvement over the Ness Big Suckers i've been using on my previous bikes, except that my flat backed air cleaner covers will have to be spaced out on the center stud or be double drilled to utilize the outer two holes. The allen head breather bolts will definitely easier to install than the Ness hex head bolts!
Do you have any part #s or help to go from a s&s super e teardrop filter kit to a rounded style? My leg hits the teardrop now and I don't wanna do pedal extensions
Well....not entirely true. I have this breather, was professionally installed, and it pukes oil all over my element and my cam cover. I like the look of the air cleaner, but I may end up selling it or find a way to mod it, to bypass the oil.
For any Sportster model 1991-later, or big twins 1992 and later, this air cleaner design does not lend itself to external breathers, since that breather system is built into the backplate. Keep in mind that many of our Stealth air cleaner kits are a CARB (California Air Resources Board) or EC (European Community) approved as we sell them, and any modifications will make them non-conforming.
This video just saved my life!!! I had no idea how i was going to get to those bracket screws! Thanks for producing this video!
wish you guys still made the SPO mufflers. they are prefect.

Any recommendations on an external breather system for use with this A/C on a Sportster 1200?
