I hold my granddaughter up to the mirror and hum that tune while I move her close and far from the mirror. She loves it even though she doesn't have a clue.
When my kids were little and in the shower I'd hum the Jaws theme song to pretend I was going to tickle them. They would laugh and yell "NO" at the top of their lungs. I really wish I could have done your mirror trick though! Grandkids beware!
@@anaximander66 I find kids google things and go, “That’s why he did that!” You’re making a special connection and a memory that ties the generation gap together. Love it 😂
I never missed SVTV every week when it played in my area. It was on an additional year but it was on a premium cable station. I was in love with this show and never would have dreamed that so many cast members would become national TV stars in a few more years. I think iI taped several episodes using my old Sony Betamax so I would always know that I would have some for future viewing. Never knew that the DVD would be invented in a few years down the line.
This clip is exactly why i kove Count Floyd. The Count is weird and scarrry, but underneath that is Floyd Robertson - tv news anchor who cant believe he has to do this too.
Ever since I discovered this show at 6 or 7 yrs old , it quickly became the show I never missed. Along with the Golden Girls that is! Those shows shaped my sense of humour. Too bad other kids my age didn’t really get it #80’sKid 😂
2:06 - SCTV was wonderfully warping to a young mind for lines like this. That and blowing stuff up good - blowing it up REAL good! And of course Bob and Doug. Ah hell, the whole cast was frelling awesome! It's one of the shows I'm grateful my parents either didn't realize or didn't care that I was watching. But then we had a copy of Cheech and Chong's Wedding Album in the house too so go figure.
I wonder, are most Count Floyd segments ad lib? If they are, it's amazing comedic work, about a hack dracula actor, trying to be scary for a show. Rip Joe and John
If the original second city TV show ran for 100 years it still wouldn't be enough to satisfy me. I absolutely love second city and I have since the first episode on Channel 9 in the mid 70s. SNL sucked compared to the genius troupe from Canada.
I didn't get this joke at all as a kid. Of course I didn't know I was stereoblind, didn't know what 3d vision even was til my 20s, during the _second_ big 3D movie fad.
Help me SCTV fans, please !! There is a scene where Guy Caballero is watching something he doesn’t like and starts saying,,, “ I don’t like this I don’t like this I’m a scared ,,,,,,,,,, then rubs his hands all over all over his face while making booba booba bluba bluba sounds………. I thought it was the ZONTAR episode but I’m mistaken because I watched Zontar on my DVD looking for it a few years ago looking for it and my buddy watched it a few days ago online looking for it and it ain’t there. HELP if you can. It’s buggin’ me. ANY info. at all would be greatly appreciated.
Never thought Joe Flaherty was very funny, especially compared to other SCTV cast members like Rick Moranis, Catherine O'Hara, Eugene Levy, Martin Short, etc.
Peace be with you, Count Floyd (the late Joe Flaherty...)!
RIP Mr. Flaherty! Thank you for many HOURS of laughs & so many great characters.

lol brilliant
thats adorable
My dad's been doing the Count Floyd pancake thing to my girls.

Love it 😂
Count Floyd is what the world needs more of.
"Awright...it wasn't scary!". Love Count Floyd
God I LOVED SCTV....Nothing better since!
Indeed, nothing better than the old school 5 channel network. This was definitely a gem.
Nothing better!!! I love it!!
In high school, we'd always greet each other with a loud "How are ya?!" Never failed to get a laugh.
Democrat or Republican, I'd run from THAT guy!
His timing was impeccable, comic genius. RIP Joe.
a vampire who howls like a werewolf. ahh count floyd we miss ya man.
I always loved the fact he's a vampire who wears a turtleneck
haha...totally. that too. plus the penciled in hairline. c'mon. best worst vampire ever.
Hey you're right. I've loved Count Floyd for 30+ years, but I NEVER made that connection. Good observation my friend.
RacerX for President!
He actually VOCALIZES THE HOWL.
Rest in Peace, Joe.
R.I.P. Joe Flaherty
RIP to the great Joe Flaherty ❤
I remember altering my schedule so I would never miss an episode of SCTV... I needed it like an alcoholic needed a drink...
"Oh Mummy Teresa, you're so scary!"
“3D House of Representatives” 😂😂😂. SCTV is to comedy, what Rush is to music.
Tip O'Neil. That brings back memories.
Perhaps the most frightening concept in the history - putting gov't on late night TV.
I first saw this flick years ago and I haven't been the same since! Count Floyd and Monster Chiller Horror Theatre...the stuff of nightmares!
"That bill could become a law!"
Biggles the Desert Hippo Scary!
R.I.P. Count Floyd.
SCTV WAS and IS The Best !

Mad scientists? No. Not in this film. It does contain something just as terrifying.
LEGISLATORS!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIEEE!!! NOT THE BILL!!!
🖊That ballpoint pin coming right at you🖊
This clip is exactly why i kove Count Floyd. The Count is weird and scarrry, but underneath that is Floyd Robertson - tv news anchor who cant believe he has to do this too.
That is what I always thought! Dealing with Earl, and MCHT!!
I don't know why but that last head movement in the 3d pen scene cracks me up especially hard.
That bill could become law---
Ever since I discovered this show at 6 or 7 yrs old , it quickly became the show I never missed. Along with the Golden Girls that is! Those shows shaped my sense of humour. Too bad other kids my age didn’t really get it #80’sKid 😂
Who Knew a grey wig and nose putty could transform John Candy into Tip O'Neil?
Something so simple shouldn't be as hilariously funny as this is.
Those ballpoint pens still scare me at 57!
SCTV was so brilliantly funny. Loved Count Floyd. Loved the added twist of the stage hands walking through.
Best tv comedy ever,,,
Sorry, Robert Pattinson, you'll never be as sexy as Count Floyd!
2:06 - SCTV was wonderfully warping to a young mind for lines like this. That and blowing stuff up good - blowing it up REAL good! And of course Bob and Doug. Kills me when John looks into the camera in 3d… god were these gents funny… miss you John Candy
...that ball point pen, coming right at you?!!!
Lolz ..of the many monster horror chiller theatre episodes that i have seen, on 80s tv, this one may be my favourite.
I wonder, are most Count Floyd segments ad lib? If they are, it's amazing comedic work, about a hack dracula actor, trying to be scary for a show. Rip Joe and John
RIP dude
The House of Representatives in 3D is too disgusting and terrifying for TV or film.
Classic John Candy
R.I.P. Count Floyd, sorry, I mean actor Joe Flaherty. 😞
Brilliant to this day
R.I.P.
RIP Joe Flaherty
G-d bless you for posting this!!!!
sctv was the best. has not been a better since.
Now I know where my dad and I used to do this to people, we'd stick random stuff back and forth at people. At his job no less
I had to shield my eyes. It was too scary.
Rip John Candy. Hilarious
Even in 3D this legislation is illegible.
RIP Joe.
RIP Joe
Omg! My sides are killing me. “That bill could become a law!” Best one ever!
Rip joe hilarious
2:00 -ish The way Floyd gulps at the prospect of Tip O'Neill--now THAT'S scary stuff, kids! 😮😮😲😲
5 stars!!!!
Wow! Dr. Tongue REALLY embodies Tip O'Neal! 🤓😎✌🏼
that Tip O'Neil's gonna..!
Was that Cassandra Peterson who walked though? RIP Joe.
is the most HD horror that i see
"That bill could become a law!"..
Count Floyd really nailed it with Tip O'Neil. I'd run if a pedophile was after me!
owWOOOOOOooooo...Count Floyd was SCARILY TERRIBLE....
Um did you see that? Well um that wasn't scary at all. Hilarious.
Scary stagehands!..
Lmao!!!! This is so ridiculous its too funny
MTG is pretty scary
His role in Hapoy Gilmore will always be My Favorite!
And So, Goodnight. Sweet....JACKASS!
❤❤❤❤
CSPAN in 3D, feel like you're right in the middle of the mudslinging swamp.
It is a scientific fact that wolf howling can get you out of any un-scary situation. You heard me: FACT!
If the original second city TV show ran for 100 years it still wouldn't be enough to satisfy me. I absolutely love second city and I have since the first episode on Channel 9 in the mid 70s. SNL sucked compared to the genius troupe from Canada.
Count Floyd is like the line from 3rd Rock From the Sun; "we hit it and we hit it and we hit it but it just wouldn't die!" 😅
The Terry Jones of SCTV.
Alway's my favorite vampire!
LOL This is great!
I didn't get this joke at all as a kid. Of course I didn't know I was stereoblind, didn't know what 3d vision even was til my 20s, during the _second_ big 3D movie fad.
Tip O'Neil couldn't hold the 2000 to 4000 page Bills now.
Did they ever do Count Floyd the Barber?
No, but Floyd the Barber is in the SCTV "Godfather" movie!
The Weapon!
As far as bad movies go, i'll stick with MST3K.
Thanks for the laughs, Count Floyd. 😆
I would have said this was prescient except that I know it was always going on.
Yes, politicians are scary. What nonsense are they promoting this time?
Flaherty looks like Paolo Paoloni from the movie Cannibal Holocaust.
Help me SCTV fans, please !!

ANY info. at all would be greatly appreciated.
I'm actually related to Tip O'Neill... he was my Grandfather's cousin, another drunk. He was such an evil bastard that someone murdered him.
That facepalm.
Could you imagine John Candy doing Rob Ford?
Veddy Scaddy Kiddies!!
AWROOO!!
Too funny
😚😳😳😳
0:46 Doug Ford
The sequel starring Nancy Pelosi scared the shit out of me!
Joke is it is not at all SCARY maybe have a bill TAXING Canadian TV oooohhhh SCARY!!!
Why would a vampire howl like a werewolf?
Because according to legend vampires can transform themselves into wolves, mist, and as you know bats!
Ah, the sequel was much scarier...Nancy Pelosi's 3D House of Representatives.
See, funny thing is, you do this today and show Trump and all of a sudden, it Truly is Scary!!! :P
Only according to snowflakes.
Count Floyd always trying SO HARD to make the most lame movie imaginable seem watchable. 🤣
Replace with Red Wig and you've got Drumpf!
Who's that? Sounds Deutsche 👀🤔😳🇩🇪
Donald has never spoken that concisely
Never thought Joe Flaherty was very funny, especially compared to other SCTV cast members like Rick Moranis, Catherine O'Hara, Eugene Levy, Martin Short, etc.
Certainly Short and Levy in particular were usually funnier, but I count myself as a fan of Flaherty.
"Oh scary! So scary that I almost scare myself."
C'mon. He's Guy Caballero, the station owner who made his money under mysterious circumstances.
Joe was a comedy genius
I think Joe is one of the greats.
And he is still a really kind and humble person.
Umm, no. Hilarious.
Hmm. Donald Trump and Count Floyd
