All the best with recovery. Eating whatever I wanted whenever I wanted helped my physical recovery. The mental bit is taking a little longer. But having an everything is allowed approach can really be helpful for some. Eventually cravings subside and extreme hunger reduces.
@rawbirbella justthat freelee does not seem healthy in any way, physically, mentally or emotionally. Not a great suggestion for people who are already struggling. Just my opinion.

It’s honestly so refreshing to see someone eating Newfoundland food without acting grossed out about it. I’m literally a vegetarian so I don’t eat 80% of NL traditional food but a lot of people stick their nose up at the food and it always hurts my soul just a bit.
For some reason this got recommended to me today. The dough for the touton is bread dough. If anyone is wondering the difference between the white and dark pudding she ate for breakfast. The dark pudding uses beef blood as an ingredient (more traditionally called blood pudding). The white pudding just has the blood left out.
As a quebecer, I've always wanted to visit Newfoundland. It has its own identity, culture and food that's quite unique from the rest of Canada that I've always wanted to see and experience for myself! Greetings from a fellow easterner 👋

I feel discomfort and insecurity when it comes to my weight but you show me how to love yourself the right way. You're gliding through this All In journey with so much grace and vulnerability. Trust me your hard work and your attention to details doesn't go unnoticed. A few notes ;-): 1 - Mary Browns is now open in Toronto and Ottawa (and elsewhere in Ontario I think?) so you can get your Big Mary fix! 2 - Did you try Pineapple Crush? 3 - Your Touton looked underwhelming and I implore you to try them again! 4 - Here in Ottawa, we can find Purity products a few places around the city...I’m sure they’re in Toronto too! I got married in Ottawa in 2017 and we served fries, dressing & gravy as our late night snack. I loved seeing everyone’s faces light up like yours did when you tried it! My husband got screeched in (by surprise) and our wedding favour was a little jellybean house Christmas ornament that my aunt hand painted with a little bag of purity candies tied on (peppermint knobs, yum!). Our card box was a lobster trap. NL is such a special place; I love seeing it through the eyes of a “mainlander” :-)

For her next trip over, get her to try pineapple drinks, and go out to cbs, there's a little place called "Ava's Convenience, Takeout & Ice Cream", It's one of the best places I've had take out, in all of the avalon region, I used to go there at least once a month before I moved out of the city.

I'm from Newfoundland and those garlic fingers looked immaculate. Also, toutons are just pan friend bread dough, use oil or butter to suit your taste. Anyone can make it, don't deep fry it. Just enough to cook it until brown. The touton in this video was a restaraunt touton, normal Newfie toutons are just wrinkly lumps or whatever shape you want. Top with molasses, maple syrup or aunt jemima, partridgeberry jam, or just whatever you want.
I'm watching from Dublin in Ireland and that first gentleman who served you breakfast has such a strong Irish accent! :D So I've just been reading about the huge Irish connection with Newfoundland. I love how your boyfriend loves your happy face when you find a food you love.
I grew up in northern Newfoundland, and we always had it on Thursday lol. Fish on Friday, soup on Saturday, cooked dinner on Sunday with loads of gravy. I can't remember Monday to Wednesday, it was they way my grandmother cooked 😊

They’re similar, but donair sauce is made with sweetened condensed milk...hence the sweet milky taste in addition to the garlic.

I haven't been to Newfoundland in years, I used to go with my family for vacations all the time. This was an amazing reminder of how beautiful this place is and how special it is. I will absolutely need to make a trip back soon
