Glad you enjoyed Italy, we just came from there and have 3 kids so eating out wasn’t desirable for us because of the chaos. We ate at home and cooked our own food, it’s awesome to see your video on the stuff we missed out on! 🇮🇹🙂
Why do people stuff themselves with Food like this? The more you eat the more you leave a stench in the house with bathroom visits.I would not ever wanna live in the same house with a serious Foodie
I think many americans will be a bit disappointed in italian food, because most of them are used to hyper palatable foods, lots of grease and sugar. In italy it’s all about simplicity and minimal high quality ingredients.
I find it’s quite the opposite! Most Americans that visit Italy are impressed at how flavorful things can be while so simple. And we luxuriate in the high quality unprocessed foods! The only American food I want in Italy is usually cheddar cheese 😂
I’m Italian but working in usa. When I cook for my friends even the most simple tomato pasta with American ingredients they are astonished. I just think they can’t cook
that's what i was thinking! i miss european food because it doesn't taste like JUST oil and JUST sugar, but actually has the FLAVOR of the dish it's supposed to have 😭istg even organic foods here don't taste nearly as good as the produce/other food back home
I learned from living in Italy for 6 months, the best food was away from the tourist attractions. Hole in the wall places without signs. That’s where it was at.
RE: the food- looks like you made the mistake so many tourists make. They go for the view thinking the food has to be great because of the view. General rule of thumb is you get 1 only, a great view or great food! Rarely do you get both. Still loved the video and glad you had such a great time exploring!
@@TarynMariethe1st because usually the places with a view are made for tourists. Italian people would not go there so the food is less authentic and not up to the an Italian palate .

The worst pizza I had in Italy was at a place right by the colosseum. The best I had was at a small place, on a backstreet in a small town an hour out of Rome where local people were eating. You can find bad food in all countries, but in Italy you can find the best too ;)

I absolutely admire both of your positive attitude no matter how many crappy things had happened (missing luggage and fined on the train). That takes some real strength. Loved this vlog! You’re absolutely gorgeous Stephanie!!
You needed to definitely go to the more simple looking trattoria in Florence for the really good food. The places you went did seem more touristy 😅. I always asked our hosts of our bnbs for recommendations and everything was delicious! And yeah, Italians al dente is more al dente than what Americans are used to lol. A shock at first but sooo good. Looking forward to your Paris video. Loved it there too. Amazing food. Especially the Vietnamese Banh Mi at Banh Mi. A must try
My biggest tip when traveling is to find the locals and ask where they like to eat, not where the tourists like to eat. Usually it’s hole in the wall, or in my case when I went to Costa Rica, it was in the backyard of someone’s house, that has the best food!
I love how honest you are about how much you liked the food 🙏🏻 thank you for showing that life can be so beautiful and that you shouldn’t worry about your food intake and exercising

The same happened in London, they decided to go to all the expensive tourost spots. Places that no local people actually eat at, of course its completely their decision, I just feel its not an accurate representation of the true country, culture, and food thats available.

Ciao Stephanie! Thank you for visiting our country 🇮🇹 I hope that, apart from the inconvenience with luggage, you enjoyed yourself! Let me tell you a couple of things about your video: you made the worst possible choices regarding food! 😅 Florence is the homeland of "Fiorentina": a cut of red meat that is eaten strictly rare! Other typical food in Florence: the lampredotto, the schiacciata, the ribollita, the tripe, the beans all’uccelletto, the zuccotto, the cold cuts etc. no Italian would eat seafood in Florence !!! The pizza you bought looks awful 🥲 you need to know where to go to buy the pizza to avoid being ripped off! The next time you decide to come to our beautiful country, I recommend that you ask us Italians for directions on Instagram to be able to enjoy one of the best cuisines in the world! From what the video shows, you have gone to several tourist traps. Last note: DON’T CUT THE PASTA!!! Ciao bella!! (Sorry for my bad english 🙏🥲)

I love your wide-eyed reactions to enjoyable foods! For international travel, I have learned to pack a carry-on with a few days' worth of clothes if I am checking in luggage. Our luggage was lost for a few days when we went on a Viking cruise up the Rhine, and our carry-on with extra clothes truly came in clutch!
The best food we had in Rome was just at a simple trattoria and they are definitely the most authentic! Had amazing wine, pizza and gnocchi. But the gelato beat everything - I think I had it every day!!
Hey guys! Actually, it isn't "DOLCEZZE SAVINI" (which is the name of the bakery, where the store bought it) but it's "PESCHE" (which means "peaches" in English) 🥰🥰

Your mindset about food, exercise and overall approach to life has helped me so much. I think about your journey as a motivation for my own, which I documented on my channel as well. Struggling with an ED, loss of period and over exercising, I can’t tell you enough, Stephanie, how thankful I am for what you’ve learnt me. I've been around the world a fair bit but NOTHING beats the gelado (ice cream) in Italy. The wow factor for me is the sheer amount of flavours there are along with how well made each flavour is.
Tourist don’t know the real Italy. Thankfully I went to Italy the first time with my Italian-speaking dad and been to places tourist don’t go and got immersed in the culture. Not bragging ok! But Americans get a taste and that’s it. Real Italian culture will leave you so culture-shocked when you get home. You’ll miss it for life! I can’t explain It all here.
Maybe a totally unnecessary couple of paragraphs, but: When I was "recovering" from my ED the first time, I did a lot of the same things. I lived without restriction. I gained weight, told myself I was okay with it, and convinced myself that I was treating myself well. But after some time, when the extreme hunger wore off and my weight was (more than) restored, I realized I still had a problem. My life was still oriented around food. I wasn't actually happy. Everything I did was somehow just about making sure everyone knew I was going to eat anything and everything I wanted. I still thought about food 24/7, still had a horrible relationship with eating, and I wasn't actually living my life. Personally, I relapsed into my ED. I hope this isn't the same story for you, but somehow I feel compelled to tell you that food isn't everything. Food is good, but there's so much more to life. I don't want you to regret your decision to refeed and recover from exercise addiction-so please, if you need it, seek help for your relationship with food. You've been through a lot, and I don't want you to go through the hard times again-like I will eventually have to do in order to get my life back. Maybe. One day. Quit any obsession with food while you're ahead, and while you're thinking straight. If you're truly better, I applaud you and encourage you to continue doing what you're doing. But if not, don't be embarrassed. Just do what you need to do in order to be happy off camera.
Thank you. She definitely needs to hear this - constantly telling everyone that she’s eating “everything she wants” seems disingenuous. Her life is still very food focused and I don’t think it’s healthy.
100% - as a person ‘in recovery’ for 5 years now (I personally think it’s a day by day thing and you need to work to keep those intrusive ED thoughts away), it’s about being honest with yourself. It’s perhaps remiss to say but Steph looks absolutely tiny again. I hope she is well and not kidding herself on. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is brilliant for unpacking your relationship with food. Hopefully she is utilising complementary therapy on the side.
I miss your science videos. I was hoping for a PhDs take on research on appetite, energy expenditure, metabolism and even disordered eating. You've alluded to these videos, but never really posted them. I hope you'll reincorporate information based content soon!
I was in Italy this August too. I went to Sorento, Positano, Pompeii, Amalfi and more! It was one of the best places to visit. Seafood, special drinks and ice cream are the best to try there!
The airlines lost my luggage when I went to Italy also! I ended up tracking it down after calling the airport/courier for 3 hours, took a cab to the storage location and finally found my luggage. It was the fourth day of not having them and not hearing anything from anybody 😂
Hi stephanieeee I’m an italian fan and I have been following you since your first cheat day, it’s so strange for me to see you in my places 😍 Among the food you tried in Italy I would definetely say also Italians would recomend zaza. And yes our pasta al dente is very very al dente 🤍
The peschine (peaches) Jeff ate are my childhood 😍 So happy you got to try them, they're typical from my region (Emilia-Romagna), very close to Tuscany, and they have the same liquor that's in a very special dessert called "zuppa inglese" (you have to try it out next time!). Not so many Italians eat them though, but I love them! ❤
You went to the most terrible overpriced touristy places in all of Italy. You ate asian food in one place 🙈 of course the food wasn’t as good as expected..I would definitely recommend to ask locals about restaurants next time. Very nice video though!
Super rude the way she said "put it here" at 5:51. I would never talk to servers that way. You guys were overall pretty rude in restaurants, filming and loudly proclaiming the food is just ok etc
Negroni is my all time favourite drink. Negroni Sbagliato is even better ( Where the gin is replaced with either Prosecco, Franciacorta, or champagne) but it’s an acquired taste. If you’re not a fan of bitter drinks, it’s probably best to avoid Campari.
Loved traveling with you! I loved your food reviews!! Love travel food reviews!! Thank you!! Sorry about your luggage, but you guys stayed so positive!!♥️🙌🏻
Hate when servers say stuff like Oh this is going to be too much for you. To me it always ends up being really triggering.. and also, really not their place to judge how much someone can eat just by appearance.
You need to travel outside your bubble more and develop your palate. Food in Italy and all over Europe is simply exquisite, unlike the boiled chicken, frozen pizza and processed food you are used to eating.
I’ve been to Florence and liked it much better than Rome, but definitely need to visit Positano. I had a friend years ago who vacationed in Positano when she lived in Rome decades ago and told me wonderful stories about it.
I have been watching your videos for five years, and I subscribed this morning, I will continue to watch what you do, I really like your journey and what you have released, I send you my greetings from France ❤
What an amazing looking trip and so sorry about the lost luggage. Seeing your reaction to the Negroni was priceless! Like what you like and don't worry about it. Enjoy you and Jeff so much ❤️ And 100% about air tags in luggage!
Negronis and other bitter drinks/foods will land completely differently depending on the genetics of the consumer. If you are a bitter taster, it'll be very hard to drink - but if you lack the bitter tasting genes, they're absolutely incredibly delicious. Clearly Stephanie is a taster and her friend less so :)
I love seeing the absolute joy on your face, Stephanie! Although the luggage thing must have been so frustrating you were such a good sport. I would have sulked something awful without my stuff. LOL
Quando vedo i miei youtubers preferiti arrivare in Italia mi esplode sempre il cuore di gioia. La fortuna di vivere qui la comprendi ancora di più quando vedi l'entusiasmo degli altri che vengono in visita! Proud to see you happy in my country, love you so much xx
Looks like you had lots of laughs despite the luggage scenario! Re. The food...the issue is in Europe, there are a LOT of touristy traps that will overcharge you. The best food places are usually not in the main places and it takes recommendations from locals to find the best food. My advice is to have a drink in the places with the best views but eat at places full of locals! Xx
The first sweet you tried isn't called Dolcezza Savini, that is probably the one that produces it. They are incredibly good and are called "Pesche", I love them so much!! 😩👌🏻
Italians eat actual food and cook with fresh ingredients and produce. You are used to ultra processed food and sugar which american chains seem to put even into salads... You may need a detox to actually enjoy italian cuisine (renowned to be amongst the best in the world) and also make better choices as to where you go by learning more about the local culture and traditions. You don't eat seafood pasta in Tuscany and chicken in the Amalfi Coast...it's the other way around!!!
When you travel outside the U.S., you should make sure your luggage is marked as Jeff’s home address in Canada. If handlers know you are American, your luggage has a higher probability of getting “ misplaced”. That was my experience traveling Europe as a child. I could be wrong but now a days.
Also had the same food experience in Italy…pretty blah in general and expensive (exchange rate from South Africa was rough). Until we got to Venice and our hosts recommended a local restaurant that we would never have found by ourselves - absolutely amazing and ‘cheapest’ dinner of our whole time in Italy. Interestingly did not have the same experience in France, all the food was so good, it didn’t matter if you were at a cafe, restaurant, market or shop - everything was good!
Never heard of Sorrento style chicken :( I think you didn't make the best decisions in terms of food guys, next time Stephanie I suggest you to ask your Italians followers for some advice! Anyway I'm glad you guys enjoyed your time here :)
I am from Florence and I felt sooo sorry watching you eating in those places. They are for sure the most touristic ones and most expensive. If you come back, I can recommend you some real ones! Have a good day

The vibes throughout this whole video are just so immaculate.
Amazing to see my country in your videos!☺️ I’m glad you enjoyed your stay here
I was in Italy this August too. I went to Sorento, Positano, Pompeii, Amalfi and more! It was one of the best places to visit. Seafood, special drinks and ice cream are the best to try there!
baby wake up Steph just released a new banger!!
stephanie in italy looks so good!!! ur beauty just hits diff in italy!! 🖤
The airlines lost my luggage when I went to Italy also! I ended up tracking it down after calling the airport/courier for 3 hours, took a cab to the storage location and finally found my luggage. It was the fourth day of not having them and not hearing anything from anybody 😂
Hello Lisa, how are you doing today.
After having come back from Florence, this is so great to watch!
Hi stephanieeee I’m an italian fan and I have been following you since your first cheat day, it’s so strange for me to see you in my places 😍 Among the food you tried in Italy I would definetely say also Italians would recomend zaza. And yes our pasta al dente is very very al dente 🤍
🔝 🔝 thanks for your comments, more videos coming soon😊. Kindly send me a direct message, i have got a package for you💕🎉📦
I love how Jeff always knows what she’s going to like😂
you've come so far and we love to see it !!!!!
🔝 🔝 thanks for your comments, more videos coming soon😊. Kindly send me a direct message, i have got a gift for you💕🎉📦
happy for you. You are getting better and better like the old days just the past and those make you stronger
This is the first time I've ever seen Stephanie not be BLOWN AWAY by any food hahahah
Awesome! Been waiting for this video!
You went to the most terrible overpriced touristy places in all of Italy. You ate asian food in one place 🙈 of course the food wasn’t as good as expected..I would definitely recommend to ask locals about restaurants next time. Very nice video though!
During the visit, I can almost bet that the good food had to be the best part
Super rude the way she said "put it here" at 5:51. I would never talk to servers that way. You guys were overall pretty rude in restaurants, filming and loudly proclaiming the food is just ok etc
Agreed
They were rude and annoying the whole time. Typical Americans. (And I'm American)
oh my goodness! I studied abroad in Florence and this video brought back so many memories... so glad you loved it!
So nice to see you happy and enjoying life to the full!
I feel like you chose all the wrong foods, except the gelato. Next time you should try pasta alla carbonara, cannoli, gnocchi alla sorrentina
I completely agree
Just wish you’d post more videos as often. Love your videos as it’s both informative & inspirational.
Your openness is helping me a lot with my ED. Thank you for choosing memories over restriction. Such an inspiration ❤️
I can't believe you were just in florence! I was there than and am still here because I am studying abroad!! so cool , I couldn't have passed by you
You need to travel outside your bubble more and develop your palate. Food in Italy and all over Europe is simply exquisite, unlike the boiled chicken, frozen pizza and processed food you are used to eating.
This is the first time I've ever seen Jeff dance 😂😂😂. It's nice to see Jeff without the textbook .
Yassss travel vlog!!!! Loved the Egypt one on Jeff’s.
Very much enjoyed this vlog ☺️ Thank you for sharing! 💛
Ahhhh this video was so satisfying to watch 🤤 thanks for sharing!!
I’ve been to Florence and liked it much better than Rome, but definitely need to visit Positano. I had a friend years ago who vacationed in Positano when she lived in Rome decades ago and told me wonderful stories about it.
I have been watching your videos for five years, and I subscribed this morning, I will continue to watch what you do, I really like your journey and what you have released, I send you my greetings from France ❤
i'm in love with ur editing style and videography! this was awesome.
🔝 🔝 thanks for your comments, more videos coming soon😊. Kindly send me a direct message, i have got a package for you💕🎉📦
What an amazing looking trip and so sorry about the lost luggage. Seeing your reaction to the Negroni was priceless! Like what you like and don't worry about it.
Enjoy you and Jeff so much ❤️
And 100% about air tags in luggage!
Xx
“It’s not the journey, it’s the destination” 🤣
So happy for you girl!!!!!enjoy EVERY SINGLE BITE!!!!!!
The hole in the walls always have the best food!! Yummmm
Moscow Mule is my favorite drink! I love the ginger beer in them
The first sweet you tried isn't called Dolcezza Savini, that is probably the one that produces it. They are incredibly good and are called "Pesche", I love them so much!! 😩👌🏻
🔝 🔝 thanks for your comments, more videos coming soon😊. Kindly send me a direct message, i have got a package for you💕🎉📦
I loved how she relaxed later in her trip
Yay another Stephanie food tour!!!!
You don't eat seafood pasta in Tuscany and chicken in the Amalfi Coast...it's the other way around!!!
that all looked soo good! now I want pasta 😍
Looks like a great time 😍 I‘d love to see some more of your travel activities! 🫶🏼
When you travel outside the U.S., you should make sure your luggage is marked as Jeff’s home address in Canada. If handlers know you are American, your luggage has a higher probability of getting “ misplaced”. That was my experience traveling Europe as a child. I could be wrong but now a days.
This video looks so fun! I can't wait to go back to Italy one day. Next time, can you do a food rating of the dishes you try?
You looked so beautiful this whole trip. I hope it was incredible, cause it looked it [besides the luggage mishap] love you steph!
Hello lsabella, how are you doing today.
How is it possible that you've never cooked your own pasta at home 😱😱😱😱
Have a good day
mannn steph looks radiant more than everrrrr!
I’m leaving for Rome on Saturday and this video just made me so excited!! Definitely doing carry on luggage though now 😅
