You've coaxed some nice grooves out of the JD-Xi! You show, better than the other demos I've seen, that this instrument, while great for EDM (like your last track), can do so much more. Great job. I hope you will post more in the future.
Rob Fowler Hi, thanks! I will probably upload more videos with the xi. So far, I really like this synth. The 3 parts (and 1 drums) limitation forces you to think about which sounds/melodies to use, and that can be a good thing. Nice sketchpad.
Cool sounds.. just bought one. Looking forward to figuring it all out.Got a Roland go:mixer to go with it so it'd record direct onto a smartphone video soundtrack.
Once you learn the ins and out of this machine, you will be blown away by some of the sounds. I don't understand why so many people that do demos on here only use the wobbly, edm type of sounds. There are other great string, plucky lead and bass sounds. Dive in, and it is a guarentee that you will get a sound you never thought you could. It happens to me all the time. The sound that I will be going for, is not the sound I get, but something even better. Remember too, layering sounds will give you a much fuller and better sound too. Just my opinion and thoughts. Have fun and best to you.
jocamiah The Xi has an analog synth section and I like the quick workflow of the 4 parts sequencer (especially the step recorder for drums), but if you already have the FA you can probably skip this one.
I don't have either. Looking to. Just wondering which would be better for producing and live performance with out a PC? I'm also considering the aira gear. My style is progressive house. Not edm style, the real version.
jocamiah I had Aira System-1 synth, sold it,then bought it again, lol. I think its better for intros & experimental electronic music, not really playable as a standalone synth,IMHO.
jocamiah You don't have a full-blown sequencer on the Xi so if you want to be able to produce 'complete' tracks with it you are going to have to overdub onto a PC or some sort of multitrack device. Also only 3 octave mini-keys would get annoying eventually.
Great demo. I've been serching for a recording w/the 70's drum sounds. Sounds great.
Magic melodies. Please continue to please us with your videos.)
Thank you! And I’ll try :))

Hello, great work. Will you be able to share your work. Thank you.
ja, gaaf!
what are the pros and cons between this and a microkorg?
theycallmejpj this does 100x more than the micro korg....drums,sequencer,loop songs
Great demo of this cool instrument. Did you combine presets to make new combis or did you utilize the ones that the jaydee came with? Thanks
+Maria Calfa-DePaul Hi, thank you! All the sounds in this video are (slightly edited) presets.
cool!! thanks. Yes it's so easy to tweak so why not?!!!
Any advantages over the FA-06? I mean why buy this when it only has four parts and the FA-06 has 16?
