Great video! To make the sax spund, start with the JD piano sound, go to menu>tone edit, then scroll over to where the top left says Tone:OSC. Scroll over a few more to Wave Number 109. Once youre there press the + button until you get to Wave Number 154, which will creat the sax sound. Hope this helps!
Hey there Lennert, are you recording this sound right from a speaker into your phone speaker or are you recording from the JD-XI into a DAW or what? How are recording live, but making it sound like it's coming right out of the JD-XI itself. If you would happen to want to take a look at some of my SBN Lifestyle Music Videos, you will here that the volume is horrible being recorded from a mini speaker into the phone speaker? But these mixes sound great when your right where I am at lisyening to them? Just let me know how your achieving these videos with the great volume? Thanks...SBN
Hey SBN, thanks for taking the time to comment. I recorded straight from the JD-Xi into a DAW, through jack-cables and an audio interface (Focusrite Scarlett 6i6 1st gen). So, best to use an audio interface and plug the JD-Xi directly into it for recording. Hope you'll achieve what you have in mind!
wow! how does sidechain working on Roland JD-Xi ? I have looking after that long time now. I hear you had some in Faded. I am gonna buy this one myself. Great job!
Hey Lennert, I just got my JD XI 2 days ago and have figured most, but you talked about layered PCM parts. How do I layer over parts to create more complex things ? Thanks ;)
Here's a video explaining how to do this on yourJD-Xi: ruclips.net/video/aRJfUFBX_G0/видео.html. You can also connect your JD-Xi to a pc via usb and download the free JD-Xi manager (by LinuxTECH) for a more convenient workflow. Good luck and enjoy!
