Roger Daltrey is genuinely a super nice person. He recently came back to Cincinnati to pay tribute to those killed at the concert in 1979. Thanks Roger.
I was at that show in 1979. We didn't know anything happened until we were on the way home. Heard it on the radio news. We stayed out in the car until most people went in the concert. We were doing concert 😁 prep.
Back in the 80's, a friend and I rode our bikes across San Francisco, crossed the GGB, and down into Sausalito. A couple more miles and we were at Sausalito Cyclery. We went in and Sammy was working the counter folding clothes. He was part owner and an avid mtn. biker. We said hi and he wanted to know everything about us; where we're from, where we ride, telling us his secret places to ride. He was the nicest, most unpretentious guy.
There was a backstage dressing room video, with Robert Plant chatting with Roger Daltrey, and reminiscing about the old day,s and the video was later pulled. I think I saw it 5-6 years ago.
I met Roger at Tanglewood in 1969 a few hours before the Who played and he couldn't have been nicer. My friends and I chatted with him for about ten minutes. Top bloke all the way !
@@kdm71291 Brian show is also very good we'll both him and Sammy have nice guys friendly. They never got too caught up in the whole I'm a big star kind of thing
He interrupts a bit too much. He is oozing personality, though. And obviously has the respect of the artists he interviews. He wants to tell his stories, and when interviewing, you have to be good at sitting there and just listening. But, as just a conversationalist, he's great. He has so much knowledge and experience, you'd want him to tell a story. But, as an interviewer? I don't think he can just sit there and listen. You can tell he wants to always say something, before a person finishes.
What treat to have seen this episode of Sammy interviewing Roger Daultry. The awesome singer of The Who. I could tell Sammy was smitten and so happy with this opportunity. It made me smile and I’m happy for him and Roger is a class act. He should be knighted like Paul McCartney in my opinion. You Better You Bet.
I saw them at the Cow Palace in 73 when Keith passed out twice during the show and a kid from the audience played the drums for a few songs!..AND..an unknown band opened up named lynyrd skynryd!.
Hearing Sammy sing Won’t get fooled again with Van Halen was life changing awesome. So cool to see the two sitting together, chatting. Must have been a real moment for Sammy!
Sammy jumpin' up and down on the couch, a Rock God smitten with another Rock God. Love this. Love to see these historic men sooo down to earth. Glad I've bought their stuff, money well spent given to men who earned every bit of it.
Roger Daughtry I love the very first solo album you came out with it was amazing and so I guess if I would say instrumentally off the wall but it was something that I'm guessing was driving in your heart the very cool album I remember that back in the day I think of the song After the fire still Burns Very impressive LP. Under the Raging Moon
Two legends, would be amazing to see Sammy and Roger on stage together, Roger's book Thanks a lot Mr. Kibblewhite is a great read, about driving well, I miss the open roads in Canada and USA but driving to coast in Yorkshire is one most beautiful drives I driven ,
Wow! Did he really say that they both played a festival lineup of The Who, Montrose, Humble Pie, Lou Reed, and one of Bad Company's earliest appearances? What a bill!
The Who have been my favorite band since I saw them on The Smothers Brothers Show in 1968. So cool to see Roger and Pete still going strong all these years later. Still miss John and Keith. Hope you guys keep rockin' for many more years.
I really wish Sammy had asked Roger about all the greats of the sixties, because, cmon, the man is a source of HISTORY. He met all the greats. TALK MUSIC!
I was at a Daltry show right before the Who Super bowl performance. It was at The House of Blues in Disney, FL. A small bar scene, it was amazing. There where some hecklers there and Roger set them straight and said if they don't shut up, he'll have them thrown out. I agreed with him. I was 5 feet in front of roger, priceless!
I use to live just outside of Disney and went there all the time! That would had been amazing to be at. I would had gotten chills. I love to met Sammy but Rodger! WOW!
They were like twins when they were young, same hair, same charisma, love these two, could listen to them speak for hours, sigh! Didn't know I needed this !
I saw The Who back in the day at Atwood Stadium in Flint Michigan. The night Keith Moon drove the car into pool at Holiday Inn. The Blues Magoos opened..then the Who..then the headliner Hermins Hermits!!!! All for under 10 bucks!
This is, surprisingly, one of my favorite interviews. I didn't want it to end. I was hoping you guys were gonna go shoot pool or something and keep talking. What a cool hang that would be!
Absolutely loved Roger Daltrey as The Tin Man in the musical, “The Wizard of Oz,” with Jackson Browne as Scarecrow, Nathan Lane as Cowardly Lion, Jewel as Dorothy, Natalie Cole as Glinda the Good Witch, the Harlem Boys Choir as the munchkins, and Joel Gray as the Wizard. Ry Cooder musical director. It’s on RUclips.
I was 14 when I saw Montrose in City Park Stadium in New Orleans. It was my first concert. Trapeze, Montrose, J Geils Band, Black Oak Arkansas and I can't remember who else but that was an experience for real for a 14 year old lol. I saw things let's just leave it at that.
Two of my all-time favorite singers on one sofa! Oh to be sitting in the middle of them! I've fortunately had the pleasure to meet both of them several times ❤️🙌🏻💋🙌🏻❤️
Roger is a great studio singer and the greatest frontman alive. Roger one of the few greats that doesn't act like a woman on stage or wear little girls shirts. Rog acts like a man. Sammy acts like a man.
Its kind of sad but kids today, hell kids for the past 15 years, will never know or understand the true meaning or power of what it was to be a Rock Star. That phrase is bandied about all of the time now but it hasnt had any real power or resonance in a long long time. Roger Daltrey WAS a bona fide Rock Star and you really had to be around at that time to understand how magical and meaningful it was.
My very first concert in 1975 at Day on the Green in Oakland, CA. The Greatful Dead opened for The Who. It was a magical first. I even fainted in line from the heat and weed. ✌️
Everybody wants to be a "ROCK STAR" these days. Whether it is RAP or ROCK, no one wants to put in the WORK anymore. IF everyone is a "ROCK STAR" then NO ONE is a "ROCK STAR"...

The two most down to earth, humble, likeable rock stars in the same room together...priceless!!
Oh, your name is ironic!!!
Daltrey & Townshend together for 55 years..That’s great! The Who one of the best rock ‘n’ roll bands there ever was.💯
That legendary primal scream of Roger's set me free as a kid.
Roger was always one of the coolest guys in rock. Always one of my heroes.

Dude,Sammy is incredible at this . He really has a knack for this interviewing and hosting thing.
Yes, he does.....Brian Johnson of AC/DC also has a show like this called "A Life On The Road"....he is also very good!
He should have his own podcast. It should be titled interviews with the red rocker.

He's not classy about marijuana 🙄 he's a prick about it😤💨🙄
"JOIN TOGETHER" my fav WHO tune......they should have made a video with THE WHO marching down the strret with hundreds of people following them!
That´s BS, a typical singer´s view. Cause what´s the beginning of it all? It´s not the singer, it´s the song.

A "singer" didn't write the song genius, the Lead Guitarist Pete Townshend did.
Yes he sings but he's not the Lead Vocalist.

It's not about the "beginning" the line says "makes the music move along" which it does.
