"Uncle Ted!" I love it! Two of my favorite rock and roll living legends together. I laughed so hard a few times my abs hurt. Everyone remembers Sammy up on stage equipment back in the day. I wonder if Iggy Pop climbed high? I need to research.
I was working as an assistant engineer in 1975 at the Sound Pit where Nugent made his first solo album "Ted Nugent" . I worked during the day and they came in at night to work. Nugent had a wall of Marshalls set up in the large studio. No other guitar player who came through there had more than one or two amps.
Saw Sammy open for Ted in Portland, Oregon in 1981. We were big Ted fanatics, but after that show, I was a Sammy fanatic. Two of my favorite all time people to see in concert.
When they start playing that songs it’s a really cool feeling watching them find each other like that and just making it sound great. Also I wish this video was longer. Ted nugent is a fucking legend. I heard stranglehold today on the way home from work on the radio and instantly it put me in a great mood. Glad they left the solo in the radio version
Thanks Sammy for sharing Uncle Ted with us. You guys are the epitome of rock and roll and I can proudly say that I've been blessed by seeing you both early on. Sammy was great with Montrose, solo and with Van Halen. Ted with Amboy Dukes and on his own for sure. You guys really keep us young with your energy. Thanks guys!
What? Ted is a C level hack at guitar. 1. Cannot get out of the blues scale (minor pentatonic scale). 2. Has not advanced in chord structures since the Amboy Dukes. 3. Can't find a subject matter deeper than sex. The fact that Sammy Hagar would give this draft dodging child molester a platform is beyond shameful. I'm done with two bit Boomer entertainers who's time is long past. Ted Nugent? Bigoted hack.
Met Victor J. in late ‘85/early ‘86 the night after my husband and I had gone to a club to see “The Busboys”! What an awesome band!! I stood right in front of Victor the whole show having the time of my life! I’d never seen a band like that 😎 The whole group came to the restaurant where I waited tables and when I went to their table, Victor said, “I know you!! You’re that beautiful, sexy lady that stood right in front of me all night!! Nice view!” I told him I lived about a mile away and my husband would love to meet him, but our other car was in the shop, and asked if he would come back to the pay phone and call and say hello. Well, he jumped right up and said, “Sure! Let’s go!” He told hubby, “This is Vic from the Busboys! Glad you got to see the show last night. Man, you’re a real rock ‘n roller!” I think he thought it was a joke 😂 Too bad we didn’t have a cell phone to take a pic. Fond memory I’ll never forget!

Uncle Ted is rock n roll. I'm so thankful for the first time i heard Ted play guitar. He's one of the top reasons i picked one up. Thank you Uncle Ted.
Ted Nugent is an interesting cat. I've seen him twice live. on stage : he owns it, he is a ball of energy, he's there to entertain, he talks fast/plays great, he's in total control of himself and the room. I saw him on a bill with big names, experienced millionaire players, and he is so much more "natural" up there.. "stage presence"... even without many songs, honestly, the concert is great.. similarly, Sammy is a natural on stage..
Those far left fruits would never, never, NEVER have a far right nut job like Ted in their little club. They'd rather pretend that Madonna & Dolly Parton are RnR, than admit Nugent is more RnR than 99% of their inductees. Oil/Water
I saw these two on stage together in 1988, playing "Rock & Roll" by Zepplin, in Pontiac MI. Epic seeing Ted jumping off PA stacks while soloing on guitar, fox tail and all.
Sammy and uncle Ted were the very first rock concert I attended in 1978. Two classics!

Awesome you hung out with Terrible Teddy. We played the crap out of his LPs in the late 70’s as a young teen.
I've been listening to both these guys since 1979
Seen em both live! You can't fake this! True musicians can do it anywhere!!
The entire song is a solo.
Ted is and always has been an amazing guitarist. Just unreal. So talented.
@@NyeGuy-yv2dv go back to bed Karen
@@NyeGuy-yv2dv uncle Ted is a fucking badass and don't you ever fucking forget that
Ted, is a schmuck.
@@NyeGuy-yv2dv agree 100%. the guy is a walking talking piece of shi*
What an amazing interview. Love both these guys. I was blessed to have toured, at different times, with both of these rockers in my lifetime. Awesome to see them both rocking strong! God Bless!
My 2 all time favorite rockers. Had the pleasure to see both, several times. Ted talks about a joint effort w his pal Sammy, on his Spirit Album. That's yrs ago but what a great show it would be
The loudest concert I’ve every been too was Ted. I was 13 years old and I was blown away.
My ears rang for a couple of days.
Can you imagine the blessing it must be to hang out with Ted Nugent I mean he's the Motor City Madman and he is a guitar God and then you got Sammy Hagar I mean if you get lonely on your daddy's Farm you ain't got to go too far I mean two legends extremely Legends actually
I remember seeing Nugent at Cal Jam 2 in ‘78 and he blew away everyone on the bill…
By a long shot…he was (and is) a force of nature.
What a show... I was 16 years old.
@@mrray6983 Me too. I seem to remember the sun broke through the clouds during Ted's set.
Ted, among others, at the Texas Jam ‘78…great show…what I remember of it…🙃
Missed it but was at Caljam1 at 16.
@@db5757 -- Van Halen's set at '78 Texxas Jam was legendary.
Two of the best. This video was not near complete. More jamming. Went by way to fast. A+++
Uncle Ted is just one of the BEST. He is an inspiration American and person who is just so knowledgeable and has the ability to debate with anyone on the planet.
Awesome, i met Sammy and his son at his Mill Valley home a few years ago. He and his wife are friends of another friend of mine. Great guy with a sweet studio on his property.
This is crazy but I have both Hagar and Nugent 8 track tapes in the glove box of my 76 formula firebird and still play them when cruisin down the road... Two of my all time favorite rockers right there...😉
I bet the sound quality sounds like shit yet glorious at the same time...lol
Uncle Ted is rock n roll. I'm so thankful for the first time i heard Ted play guitar. He's one of the top reasons i picked one up. Thank you Uncle Ted.
Not just two of the coolest men from rock and roll, they are two of the coolest men on the planet.
Saw Montrose at a bar back in the 70's. Nugent was my first concert at the Pontiac Silvedome in the 70's.
2 Favorite Rock n Rollers from the 70's
The Great Gonzo didn’t have to do drugs because he is a drug running at Mach 2 with his hair on fire! Love Uncle Ted
Man this is GREAT! I'm glad I discovered this show!
Ted Nugent belongs in the Rock n' Roll hall of fame!!!! Come on!!!
Those far left fruits would never, never, NEVER have a far right nut job like Ted in their little club. They'd rather pretend that Madonna & Dolly Parton are RnR, than admit Nugent is more RnR than 99% of their inductees. Oil/Water
Ted dont need those poisonous assps !
Yeah,…. The RRHOF is so politically full of shit…. Loved what Steve Miller said when he gave is induction speech….
SEEING BOTH OF THESE GUYS IN CONCERT and MEETING THEM BOTH WARMS MY HEART! GOD and COUNTRY 1ST,then things will be fine!
Ted would be a blast to hang out with, lol
I saw these two on stage together in 1988, playing "Rock & Roll" by Zepplin, in Pontiac MI. Epic seeing Ted jumping off PA stacks while soloing on guitar, fox tail and all.
Uncle Ted still has it !
Saw Sammy with Montrose,'77....seen The Terrible One several, several times....good stuff!🤟✌❤🎵👏👍
Quality content Ty Sammy and Ted. I was always a fan for you both. Bringing back my younger years here and I hope to grow older with you both.
Wow!!! Who doesn’t love these two amazing national treasures
Double Live Gonzo was the first rock album I bought as a kid. Ted was a huge influence on me.
That was awesome so cool the best!! Two legends together playing don't get no better than that.
Sweaty Teddy! Such a legend and great guitarist!
