Those Ross people were living nightmares. Anna got there on her own talent. She did what she could for her mother, but those Ross people were just so wicked.
I would like to think if Anne Bancroft knew what was happening, she would have done something about it.

I can only imagine what actors and actresses must feel and experience when they play roles like “Anna”. It all seems too real, too terrifying, but it is enlightening to watch their work on film as they memorialized their lives on the screen. I have great compassion for individualizes, and their families, plagued by mental illness. It can be overwhelming, overt, greatly misunderstood, debilitating and even seem hopeless. Like any other disease, no one asks for it or wants it. You can’t successfully deal with it alone. Painful to see the suffering … the unrelenting anguish.

PARDON MY APS L0CK. IT'S HARD FOR ME TO SEE SMALL PRINT.
I HAVE SPENT A LIFE TIME WITH MENTAL ILLNESSES AND HIDDEN, BOTTLED UP RAGE. IT WAS ALL CAUSED BY A LIFE OF CHRONIC CHILDHOOD NEGLECT, ABUSE AND SEXUAL ABUSE.
YES, I WAS A HORRIBLE MOM AND SHOULD NOT HAVE HAD CHILDREN IN THE FIRST PLACE. BUT I HAD 4 OF THEM. 2 GIRLS BY MY HUSBAND AND 2 BOYS BY MY COMMONS LAW AT THE TIME. NO, I DIDN'T HAVE ANY HELP FROM EITHER FATHER 😕.
HAD 3 OF 4 CHILDREN TAKEN BECAUSE I ASKED CHILDREN'S AID SOCIETY FOR THEIR GUIDANCE ON HOW TO BE A PROPER PARENT. I TOOK A COURSE WHILE I JUST HAD MY YOUNGEST BABY BOY AT HOME. I WAS TOLD THAT I WAS DOING A REALLY GREAT JOB WITH THE COURSE AND WOULD I BE INTERESTED IN A SECOND COURSE
NO HESITATION. I TOOK THE COURSE. IN THE MEAN TIME I HAD FREE ACCESS TO ALL THE CHILDREN FOR AS LONG AS I WANTED WITH EXCEPTION TO SCHOOL DAYS, WHICH I AGREED TO. BUT I WENT TO THE FOSTER HOME AND HELPED WITH MEALS, CLEAN UP AND HOME WORK.
BUT MY LEVEL HEAD SUDDENLY STOPPED AND THE PAINS AND RAGE STARTED TOO. C.A.S TOOK CUSTODY WITH ACCESS OF MY 3 CHILDREN. SUPERVISED VISTS ONLY.
THEN MY 11 YEAR OLD SON WAS KILLED IN A CAR CRASH WHILE IN THE CAR WITH THE FOSTER MOM. NO ONE WAS AT FAULT. BLACK ICE. I NEARLY LOST MY 13 YEAR OLD GIRL IN THE ACCIDENT. SHE WAS CRITICAL FOR AWHILE.
I SUNK VERY DEEP DOWN. MY YOUNGEST SON WAS ONLY 9 YEARS OLD AND MY OLDEST DAUGHTER WAS ONLY 16 AND SHE HAD A BABY GIRL THAT MOSTLY I WAS RAISING.

When she was manic she would think she knew more about everything than anyone else, and would make a lot of enemies. Her friends understood her and just shrugged it off. Then when she was diagnosed we were all like “how could we not have figured that out?“ Kudos to Patty for going public on this terrible illness and perhaps making it easier for other people to come forward and seek help.

I assume this movie production was controlled by Patty. I like Patty and feel bad about her illness but she couldn't have been told she was pregnant BEFORE meeting Michael "Bell" like the move shows. The baby, Sean Astin, had a paternity test done as an adult which showed that Michael Tell was the real father. Apparently afterwards, Patty still insisted Desi was the father. Sean had been told growing up that John was his father, then later told about Desi and the marriage to Michael. Sean had relationships with all 3 of his 'dads' then finally got a paternity test done. I thought I remembered a movie where she is making out with Tell, then showing her excited after the wedding but a day or two later screaming and kicking him out. Maybe I'm just remembering this one wrong. Either way, the gynecology and bassinet scene showed have come after the Michael "Bell" scene.
