Look at the horizon that is summoning upon my name

Now I know, yes, I understand it now!

WE ARE ONE RACE. WE ARE AUSTRONESIANS, THE PEOPLE OF THE SEA. This is amazing to show how we are as Austronesians. The sad truth is that people overlook our ethnic race. We are basically divided as Southeast Asians and Pacific Islanders but we are one Austronesian people. We should unite to make our culture alive!
The causes of all this is colonialism
Yo not

With Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, NZ and Taiwan, Austronesian ethnicity world organization will be great

Raya is "vaguely Southeast Asian" set dressing on a western film, unfortunately 😔
My upset about Raya is directly proportional to how much I love stuff like Coco, Encanto, and Moana.

Oh...my..god..Did you literally find all of these versions? I don't care if they're fanmade, this is just incredible. Words can't explain how breathtaking this was to watch. I thought most of these languages were dead, forgotten, or dormant, as most of their peoples died (Moriori peoples died I've heard), but you've found all of these languages. This video is very well-made, but it also means something to me deeply, as it reminds me of language-loss and how it relates to culture loss. I'm so glad everyone came together to sing in their languages, this is gorgeous. This speaks to me personally, because so many of these beautiful languages featured in this video are dying, dormant, or being forgotten. Words can't explain how beautiful this is, although it's just a video, this is more than a video to me. I enjoyed every last bit of this video, as there weren't only Polynesian languages, but also Micronesian and Melanesian languages. Thanks for making this, this means alot to me personally
Asap Toastyy's Dubs I also wish these movies, particularly Pocahontas, were dubbed in Native American languages. I have a good friend who is semi fluent in Salish, a Native language in Washington, and I've always thought about asking her to sing a cover in her native language.
Really? That's incredible...I've never heard of Salish before, I mean I've heard of Cherokee and Choctaw and others, but fluent in Salish? Wow. Is that language dying?
All Salishan languages are critically endangered, yeah. I believe she's semi fluent in the Okanagan dialect of Salish, but I could be wrong. Salishan languages are indigenous to Washington, British Columbia, Oregon, Idaho, and Montana, and most only have speakers over the age of 50. She's one of the few who learned a lot of it when she grew up on a reservation, but she told me she's forgotten most of it unfortunately.
Wow...that's pretty sad ): It kinda reminds me of one of my native languages, Cherokee, no one I know or in my family can speak it unfortunately, and it's also a dying language. I've always wanted to hear a word at least a word in a Salishan language, that'd be the only memory I'd have of it, identity and cultural loss is really common, I feel bad for the people that speak these languages ): Thanks for the extra information about your friend though, losing your language is just upsetting xP
It is, yeah. I haven't been too affected by language loss, as the only language I speak regularly and fluently is English, however it's really devastating when a huge part of your culture dies along with the last person who speaks the language. Also, I didn't know you were Native American! That's pretty cool :)
I'm very proud of being Austrobesians and African at the same time! Love from Madagascar ❤️❤️❤️❤️🇲🇬

Proud Filipino here but I was bit disappointed that not even a single Formosan language (like Amis, Atayal, Paiwan, etc.) represented by Taiwanese Aborigines. They are our ancestors of us Austronesians and yet forgotten. It really hurts me so much as a part of Austronesian group. 😭😭
This is a compilation, maybe this video maker has searched but can't find one who sings this song in native Taiwan languages, without including them this video is clearly incomplete, hopefully in the future they can adds because it is very important, I from Indonesia really agree with you,.

Eventhough Im Malaysian Malay its still hard to speak Javanese but I can speak a lil Bahasa Indonesia, and Tagalog but not that fluent
Bahasa Indonesia is not a separate language from Malaysian. Its just a localized version of Bahasa Melayu re-branded as "Bahasa Indonesia" for nationalistic reasons.
Tagalog is hard try Ilocano of Filipino a standardized form of Tagalog
@@sarban1653 Are u kidding me..? 🤭 The Indonesian language.. It vocabulary, accent, tongue, variety are clearly different from Malay..
@@richlistening5511 There's Malaysian Melayu and Indonesian Melayu. Both are Melayu and based off the dialect spoken by Malay people in Riau. This "Bahasa Indonesia" name is an invention of the Indonesian government.
@@sarban1653 What re-brand..? The term malay in malaysia and Indonesia is different.. Malaysia views the whole as malay... while in Indonesia it is one of the tribes among the various ethnic groups that exist.. there is a division between clans and clumps.. so that the language is more diverse and specific..
The ethnoligustic perseption is totally different..
Hundreds of years Indonesian has evolved and reached its present form and then you said it's the same area.. ?
Who do you want to clown for.. 🤦♂️
The real Indonesian and Malay are different.. Indonesian has an adaptation of the Dutch style, different from Malaysia..
From Riau to Batavia and then to Indonesia.. It goes through the process of hundreds of years ... Also, Indonesian was founded by writers and academics so that it is more standard than malay..
It can be said that Malay is one aspect of various aspects of the Indonesian language.. Because this language is also enriched by other Austronesian languages..
So dude.. respect the character and process of a language.. 🙏
I'm Indonesian. Thanks for publishing this video. Nothing but breathtaking!
I am so proud of being part of this huge nation: Austronesian People.
I speak two Austornesian languages as L1: Manadonese / Manado Malay and Tombulu Minahasa.
Other Austronesian languages as L2: Indonesian and other Minahasan Languages in North Sulawesi.
So sad that there is no official Filipino dub. The excuse of most Filipinos is that they already understand English that's why there is no need for a Filipino dub. Hellooooo! There are also countries that dub Moana in their national language despite understanding English such as Denmark, Sweden, Norway, to name a few. Some Filipinos are so insecure to their own Austronesian languages. And those Pseudo-Anglophone Filipinos will protest their illogical point, mock, and dare me to create my own Filipino version. Wanting a Filipino version does not imply a non-fluency of the English language. Watching and listening Filipino-dubbed/subtitled Disney (or any other foreign language) does not extremely degrade your English proficiency and fluency.
I absolutely agree.
lol, let's start with changing the name of our nation and official language. Cause man, who tf is Philip and what does he got to do with us?
@@latenightthinker4737 yes, but how? Normies are sanay na sa nakagawian. Bitter and jejemon pinoys would insist not changing it.
@@jehgelo quality of education and general perception is the reason. Filipinos strive hard to copy and be white people, most notably spanish and american white. They look down on brown skin and look down on dialects. The younger generation like myself are starting to change. I'm 17, but I don't want to be named after Philip. Don't call me that slave name. no problem! I'm glad you got to hear the song in your language :DD That's why I love making those videos
Polynesian languages are beautiful. for me the Maori language is stunning beautiful and unique! It's like it has evolved from all other Polynesian languages. But more simple and unique
Mabuhay Filipinos... we made it... Polynesians will probably be upset they are associated with us be it’s all good... we are basically their ancestors
but moana is a Polynesian, micronesian, Melanesian movie not a south east asain movie, smh pls
@@lostdracco6744 no it's not. It's austronesian. Micronesia is literally right next to Philippines and the same culture the people came from Philippines. It's definitely not Melanesian since that's a different people and culture.
@@dubstepXpower it’s a movie about Pacific Islanders smh not austronesian. Most the cultures imposed in it are poly lmao
Forgot to add the Austronesian Taiwan
The Māori version is beautiful, I've finally gotten out of a loop... Looks like I'm going back in!
Tagalog Tongan, Rapa-Nui, Tetum, Tokelaunan, Singaporean Malay, Samoan, MALAY OH MY GOSH MALAY AND FIJIAN AAAAA and Tahitian were my favorites!!!! I think its so cool that Tahitian was used at the end because of their word "moana" being "Ocean" 😆😆😆❤❤❤ I'm sure there are other languages that also have "moana" as their word for "ocean", Tahitian was just this video's example of one language that does 😆😆😍😍😍

Im from minahasa. our people live in north sulawesi indonesia.. but we different with the common people in sulawesi island. I believe our anchestor is not originaly from this island of sulawesi.
we are austronesia.. decendant of voyager.
You can come and see the minahasa people on higland north sulawesi indonesia.
Also a Minahasan here!! Minahasan languages belong to the Philippine subgroup family so we are actually genetically more related to Filipinos than other tribes/ethnicities in Indonesia! We are definitely also Austronesians and our ancestral homeland is Taiwan :)
Semua suku di Sulawesi itu keturunan Austronesia semua... All tribes in Sulawesi are all Austronesians
Its sad how most Austronesians country are divided and poor... Most of strong Austronesians country located near the mainland of Asia such as Indonesia, Malaysia, and Philiphines... The other country just becoming another europeans puppet country
Oh may God I really expect filipino will be included in this video❤specially my native langguage (Cebuano)❤
Salamat at mahal namin kayo❤
Proud Austronesian with Spanish bloodline here❤
I got goosebumps listening to the other languages, including Tagalog! (Though i speak Bisaya) I pride myself as bisdak but man, hearing the other austronesian languages for the first time gave me a good type of chills lol! Mabuhay!
Thanks for singing in Tagalog/Cebuano...we have 140 native dialects in 7600+ islands here in the Philippines 😍
Indonesia have 700+ language and 17000+ island👍
@@aryazidanzidnafan105 I'm assuming that there are some of those Indo dialects most similar to filipino dialects.
Oh and not Dialects by the way

It should nampak actually...btw greeting from malay of Malaysia to all austronesian/nusantara brothers and sisters..and to all people in the world
Lima gang and mata gang confirmed.
As a Rapa Nui i feel that we got the worst part XDD but cool video
The Chamorro one is sung by the same singer of Rapa Nui; I'm pretty sure the creator of the vid just got singers who have no experience in the languages to sing them 💀. The lady didn't even pronounce the words right for Chamorro oof
Actually they are the same person and it sounds pretty bad@@Kadukunahaluu

Greetings to all my seafarer people, from Malaysia
I was so looking forward to this Austronesian medley, beautiful "multilingual" song fit for the people of the sea.
Excellent compilation!!! It's a good idea to teach our children. So, they will know how to appreciate each other.. Terimakasih 🙏🥰😘💝🙏🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊
Glad to know that Austronesians have these types of community and camaraderie. Usually, it's the black Africans who seem to have this kind of unity despite being from different countries. I thought we're as not caring about it as Europeans.
I think at 0.48 at javanese language, pronounce of "segara" is not a like sounds of "car" but the a sound like "ball". This sounds between a and o. In java, we pronounce "segara" with sounds "segoro"
Segara di logat ngapak tetep di baca segara tidak diganti segoro.
it is actually å ( it also used in scandinavian languages like norway, swedish, danish) e.g. jåwå
Ancient kingdom , ancient seamaster until colonial came !
Yes. The colonization should stop
Such a nice idea!!!😍
Thank you so much! :)
Why isn't the Taiwanese aboriginal language dubbed here when I hope that the Taiwanese aboriginal language is included in the dubbing list in this Moana film, basically, Taiwanese aboriginal people belong to the Austronesian family 🙏
mungkin yg nyanyi nya nggak ada,.
