    Napak tak bersinar di laut? Dia berkilau
    See the shine on the sea? Its sparkling
    Epäd ijuweo, Ekwe, Jemoot
    It's right there, Well, let's go then

    WE ARE ONE RACE. WE ARE AUSTRONESIANS, THE PEOPLE OF THE SEA. This is amazing to show how we are as Austronesians. The sad truth is that people overlook our ethnic race. We are basically divided as Southeast Asians and Pacific Islanders but we are one Austronesian people. We should unite to make our culture alive!

    Oh...my..god..Did you literally find all of these versions? I don't care if they're fanmade, this is just incredible. Words can't explain how breathtaking this was to watch. I thought most of these languages were dead, forgotten, or dormant, as most of their peoples died (Moriori peoples died I've heard), but you've found all of these languages. This video is very well-made, but it also means something to me deeply, as it reminds me of language-loss and how it relates to culture loss. I'm so glad everyone came together to sing in their languages, this is gorgeous. This speaks to me personally, because so many of these beautiful languages featured in this video are dying, dormant, or being forgotten. Words can't explain how beautiful this is, although it's just a video, this is more than a video to me. I enjoyed every last bit of this video, as there weren't only Polynesian languages, but also Micronesian and Melanesian languages. Thanks for making this, this means alot to me personally

      Asap Toastyy's Dubs I also wish these movies, particularly Pocahontas, were dubbed in Native American languages. I have a good friend who is semi fluent in Salish, a Native language in Washington, and I've always thought about asking her to sing a cover in her native language.

    • @AsapToastyysDubs
      @AsapToastyysDubs 6 лет назад +4

      Really? That's incredible...I've never heard of Salish before, I mean I've heard of Cherokee and Choctaw and others, but fluent in Salish? Wow. Is that language dying?

    • @saph1003
      @saph1003 6 лет назад +11

      All Salishan languages are critically endangered, yeah. I believe she's semi fluent in the Okanagan dialect of Salish, but I could be wrong. Salishan languages are indigenous to Washington, British Columbia, Oregon, Idaho, and Montana, and most only have speakers over the age of 50. She's one of the few who learned a lot of it when she grew up on a reservation, but she told me she's forgotten most of it unfortunately.

    • @AsapToastyysDubs
      @AsapToastyysDubs 6 лет назад +4

      Wow...that's pretty sad ): It kinda reminds me of one of my native languages, Cherokee, no one I know or in my family can speak it unfortunately, and it's also a dying language. I've always wanted to hear a word at least a word in a Salishan language, that'd be the only memory I'd have of it, identity and cultural loss is really common, I feel bad for the people that speak these languages ): Thanks for the extra information about your friend though, losing your language is just upsetting xP

    • @saph1003
      @saph1003 6 лет назад +2

      It is, yeah. I haven't been too affected by language loss, as the only language I speak regularly and fluently is English, however it's really devastating when a huge part of your culture dies along with the last person who speaks the language. Also, I didn't know you were Native American! That's pretty cool :)

    So sad that there is no official Filipino dub. The excuse of most Filipinos is that they already understand English that's why there is no need for a Filipino dub. Hellooooo! There are also countries that dub Moana in their national language despite understanding English such as Denmark, Sweden, Norway, to name a few. Some Filipinos are so insecure to their own Austronesian languages. And those Pseudo-Anglophone Filipinos will protest their illogical point, mock, and dare me to create my own Filipino version. Wanting a Filipino version does not imply a non-fluency of the English language. Watching and listening Filipino-dubbed/subtitled Disney (or any other foreign language) does not extremely degrade your English proficiency and fluency.

I think its so cool that Tahitian was used at the end because of their word "moana" being "Ocean" 😆😆😆❤❤❤ I'm sure there are other languages that also have "moana" as their word for "ocean", Tahitian was just this video's example of one language that does 😆😆😍😍😍
