Three thousand years ago, the greatest sailors in the world voyaged across the vast Pacific, discovering the many islands of Oceania. But then, for a millennium, their voyages stopped - and no one knows why.
From Walt Disney Animation Studios comes “Moana,” a sweeping, CG-animated feature film about an adventurous teenager who sails out on a daring mission to save her people. During her journey, Moana (voice of Auli’i Cravalho) meets the once-mighty demigod Maui (voice of Dwayne Johnson), who guides her in her quest to become a master wayfinder. Together, they sail across the open ocean on an action-packed voyage, encountering enormous monsters and impossible odds, and along the way, Moana fulfills the ancient quest of her ancestors and discovers the one thing she’s always sought: her own identity. Directed by the renowned filmmaking team of Ron Clements and John Musker (“The Little Mermaid,” “Aladdin,” “The Princess & the Frog”) and produced by Osnat Shurer (“Lifted,” “One Man Band”), “Moana” sails into cinemas on November 30. People should understand that Philippines has 2 official languages. One of them is English so stop complaining about the song being in English and not Filipino. Jeez.
lol the only reason that it's in English is for worldwide reach. (i wonder why we always have to prioritize that.) but English is not and shouldn't be our official language.

Oh mana ako ng gi English para masabtan ninyo.;)
When it comes to translating a song from one language to another language, your suppose to translate it based on the message and context of the song, the translation is not per word. so the song would fit perfectly in rhythm even in another language, and JanelLa singing in english alone does not represent the bilingualism of the philippines, try nyo pong panoorin ang Disney Dub Philippines sa Facebook page at RUclips channel dahil naka-upload sa kanila ang pinakasikat na tagalog version ng How Far I'll go at mahusay ang pagkakasalin nila sa wikang pilipino

Well anyhow Disney, why the hell did you removed the solo MV of Janella? It's almost 5M views, for Pete's sake!
Spencer Hastings no disney did not removed it. search it up
Spencer Hastings Yup. It has an enormous amount of views which was uploaded on this channel. Sadly, one can only view the said video via "Reaction videos" made by fans. It's funny because the other South East Asian MV is up but not Janella. Is it because it's trailing behind the original USA MV?
out of curiosity I click on the uploaded videos in this channel. know what? it's still there. and I'm listening to it as I write this comment. -_-
Zeke Am that is odd. Can you please verify the link of that original video coming from this channel? My only concern is because no news or announcement was made in regards to its removal. What your saying could be true and in logic one explanation is the video being only open to region.
+BalaSaPR I heard that Janella's version of this song is blocked in certain countries like USA, out of respect to Aulil and alessia cara's version.
i love this video. A showing of Southeast Asian together in unity in a song is what it should be about. so if you're here complaining about who looks better or sounds better then i think you should be ashame of yourself because your missing the point of this video and the message of moana.

I am Malaysian and Ayda's vocal stands out this time! If you listen to her songs (Siapa Diriku, Pencuri Hati, Kamu Sangat Nakal etc) she didn't expose her pitch that much (maybe not suitable w/ the song) but Ayda is prooving that she can sing this time! 👏 #MalaysiaBoleh
And shout out to the Vietnamese singer too! I love her style ✌
I love Ayda's version in HFIG and started browsing for her other songs, which is very different from HFIG. I also liked her version because the lyrics were just so poetic (when.I read the English translation) and Ayda carried it out perfectly. I wish Walt Disney Philippines could have tried translating the song in Filipino, because I think Janella would sound much more passionate if she sang it in her native language. Good thing there's DisneyDubPH who made a fandub Filipino version of this song.
Mikee Mouse :
Yup, most of us would really love Janella's version if she could sing this in tagalog. We all can see how beautiful these SEA singers cooperate thru one song and see how strong our SEA bonds are 💞
Sending much loves to all of you; Malaysians. Indonesians, Filipinos, Thais and Viets 💞💞💞💞💞
Khairul Anwar The problem is, most Filipinos have this common misconception that translation has to be LITERALLY translated from the original. That is the case for monosyllabic languages (try listening to the Icelandic version of HFIG with S+T...It's almost close to the original), but for Tagalog, which is a POLYSYLLABIC language, it's little to impossible to actually LITERALLY translate the song from the original. Instead, they should have went with the more creative and poetic approach (like what the Malay version did, and it turned out to be beautiful...it's actually one of my favorite HFIG versions). That would actually stand out how beautiful the Tagalog language is for the Filipino people. Also, they seem to focus on the words of the lyrics of the song, not the context of the song, which is why they didn't want a Tagalog version.
But the Philippines are satisfied ("kampante" in Tagalog) with English because they are so high and mighty that they are so well-versed with English. I'm actually disappointed with kids here who prefers English than our national language.
