Even though this tutorial was made three years ago, I found it and am making a new poncho for my great niece who has outgrown the last one I made her, by one of your other tutorials! I'm using Bernat Pop this time, she's going to love it! Thank you Crystal for your clear and easy to fallow instructions! Thank you 💕
🙏🏼❤️🥳 Crystal thank you for sharing the measurement. It is so hard to find someone sharing the measurement like you do. I'm trying to make three of them two for my granddaughter and one for my niece the ages is one year old that is my niece my oldest granddaughter four years old and my other granddaughter two years old you making it so easy for me to make three Pancho thank you so much and you always make so simple for me to follow you. Thank you again.❤
I'm currently building "stock" for a booth I do every year in the fall at a local festival. Last week I made 5 toddler and 2 child ponchos using one of your other patterns (the one that's a round of double crochet, then a round of front post double, then a round of double, ch 1/sk 1). This week I'm going to use this pattern for toddler and child ponchos. You know how much I absolutely love your channel for the diversity and sheer number of patterns you provide, and your very clear tutorials that make them so simple to make. Thanks for ALL you do, Crystal! 💜
I just finished making this poncho and your ruffled toddler's hat for a two year old. It is so cute! I wnat to enlarge this poncho to adult size, I loved making it.
I'm currently working on a poncho with this pattern🥰 thank you so much. This is so helpful. I'm switching yarn colors every 3 rows and it looks pretty already..
So I made a slight alteration to this pattern to make what I hope will be a less sharply angled point. I added 2 extra chains to my starting chain, and instead of doing 3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc in the first chain, I did 6 dc in the first chain, and another 6 dc in the next chain. Then I worked according to the pattern until I got to the second point, and again did 6 dc in both of the next 2 chains, and then worked as per the pattern back around to the end of the round. Doing it this way, I am able to work the shells and single crochets with skipping 2 stitches in between all the way around the poncho, instead of skipping only 1 stitch when I get to the points. I hope this makes sense. Again, I just want to say I love your pattern, Chrystal. Thank you for sharing this pattern. I hope you don't mind that I made an alteration to it.
I am trying to make mine wider over the shoulders. It seems to be thin and long. I am going to take into consideration what you have done by adding stitches. Thank you for the possibilities. I've been stumped. Hope all worked out for yours.
Cheryl Birt what I did actually didn't work out in the end. I still had mine too narrow in the shoulders, like you said. I tried so many ways to make it wider in the shoulders but eventually gave up.
Just finished this. I used the same yarn and same colour. Love how it turned out. Thanks Crystal for an easy pattern. you make all the patterns so easy to follow.
I thought I invented these lol. I started adding a shell edge for my ponchos for folks that didn't want the fringe and yet didn't want a plain edge. I really like the way this works up in Scarfie in this colour especially because I kept eyeing it at Joann's but never thought if using it for one of my ponchos! I had no idea it worked out this way!!
I’ve just finished this, turned out so pretty! Thanks for your very clear instructions, I was able to follow it all the way along! Keep up with your good work! Much love♥️
I just loved it! I was looking for what I could crochet for my new great grandaughter and this was perfect. Thank you sooooo much!❤p.s. you know they grow up so fast😊
Is it just me or does the point of this poncho look more pointy and the width narrower than the granny stitch poncho? I think this pattern is so pretty, but the only thing I'm not sure about is the narrow width and longer point. I'm trying to figure out how to make the point less pointy.
I finished one for my granddaughter, and now am going to make a couple more for christmas gifts. Love it, and thank you so much for such a great tutorial, I had no problem at all following a long.
I've just made one of these for my little cousin it is perfect! I used the Bernat Pop! in Violet Vision so it has lovely stripes on it! Thank you for the pattern and explaining the larger sizes too!
Hey crystal (hope i write your name good) making this now for myself thank you for the very easy explain movie! when im ready i will send you photo on your website!)
For some reason I am having a hard time keeping up with row 2. I dont know where I got lost, and I dont want to start over. The pattern doesnt seem to be hard, your hands on tutorials are for this a little too fast. I am going try and see where I got lost. The Poncho is very pretty.
I finished this one but I think I messed up & I do not want to redo it?? I’ll sew satin at the edges. I used worsted yarn all white. My daughter in law likes it but I’m not too happy about it! Thanks Crystal!
Okay so I have a question? I kinda messed up with it being like equal so would that mess it up completely to have to redo the whole thing or can I just keep going and see if I can fix it a way to wear?
Why am I suddenly starting the row from the middle? In my case I continued normal with two space between each stitch and somehow I am getting the same results

Excellent tutorial and I like that this Poncho is not "holey " like a granny and will be warmer.

Thank you for telling us how much yarn you will need .
Making this for my nieces.
This looks great, I wonder why you only recommend a 5 weight bulk yarn. I was gonna try it with a 4 because I bought way too many 4 weights. xD

Beautiful colour yarn 💚
Is it just me or does the point of this poncho look more pointy and the width narrower than the granny stitch poncho? I think this pattern is so pretty, but the only thing I'm not sure about is the narrow width and longer point. I'm trying to figure out how to make the point less pointy.
Me too...doesn't look right
I finished one for my granddaughter, and now am going to make a couple more for christmas gifts. Love it, and thank you so much for such a great tutorial, I had no problem at all following a long.

I'm wondering how much it's gonna change the sizing?

For some reason I am having a hard time keeping up with row 2. I dont know where I got lost, and I dont want to start over.
The pattern doesnt seem to be hard, your hands on tutorials are for this a little too fast. I am going try and see where I got lost. The Poncho is very pretty.
My daughter is a size 5-6? Would this size fit her? If not how many chains can I add?
Too cute
I finished this one but I think I messed up & I do not want to redo it?? I’ll sew satin at the edges. I used worsted yarn all white. My daughter in law likes it but I’m not too happy about it! Thanks Crystal!
How do you go about changing color?
Could you do s tutorial for a granny crochet poncho for a toddler please and just a 2 point poncho
muito lindo.
Crystal. How would you line it and add a hood. Or make a matching hat. My niece lives in ny I'd love to make this for her
It was so confusing around the Ending points and the instructions weren’t that clear
Very nice
Since I don't get this yarn in India, how many inches will it be around the neck for a 5 years old kid
Okay so I have a question? I kinda messed up with it being like equal so would that mess it up completely to have to redo the whole thing or can I just keep going and see if I can fix it a way to wear?
What is the name of the stitch?
Is this pattern written out somewhere? I seem to be doing something wrong at the join ?
It's mentioned at the beginning of the tutorial for the various sizes up to an adult...……….
can u plz make a video with a adult poncho
plz :)
muito lindo
Hi Crystal is it 50 chains or 60. Cause you mention 50 then 60. Please confirm.
60
Crystal I’d like to make smaller so I chain multiple of 12 to correct head size will this work
how many chains would i need to make a size 9 to 12 months and a size 3 to 6 months thanks
Is there a written pattern available for this yet?
What are the dimensions of this Poncho?
Is there a pdf file?File? Like to print it out and mark off where I am?
Why am I suddenly starting the row from the middle? In my case I continued normal with two space between each stitch and somehow I am getting the same results
