Other than being used to lift and reposition the heavy patients, gathering supplies on the higher shelves, being used to help calm the combative patients and being called a doctor by the older generation on the daily lol it’s awesome and amazing. The dudes definitely bring a chill vibe to the floor.
I just want to say that this video is very encouraging to other males who are considering the nursing profession. I’m also a male nurse who has been working in psychiatry for the last 3 years. There is definitely a place for male nurses out there. No one should feel intimidated or feel as if they don’t belong in this profession. The diversity is amazing whether you a female or male and being able to work with people from various cultural backgrounds. For any guy out there that is having doubts, go for it. You will not be disappointed. Best of luck and thanks for making these videos.
I’m currently a guy in a CNA program, I’ve gotten crap from my friends, but my goal is to either become a travel nurse or a PEDs nurse practitioner. Honestly, being a guy in nursing makes me feel more confident and comfortable with my choice.
Man fuck those dudes. I'm a senior in high school, doing a trade school while in high school as well. My junior year I did my CNA. Then now I'm on my PCT/AUA. Get so much laughs and teases but I personally do not care. They'll regret laughing. Sometimes it's just hidden jealousy
Loved this video! I'm a guy and I also plan on pursuing nursing as well. Idk, I just have this feeling in my heart to help others. Your video made me feel reassured and inspired, new subbie! 😊
I really have enjoyed choosing to become a registered nurse who happens to be male. While I have 2 bachelor's degrees (nursing and human development), I wish I had gotten my BSN first and aimed toward nursing graduate school, bypassing the other degree. Beyond that, I got emt-basic license as I really enjoy emergency medicine and focusing on 1 person at a time with a team, but living in the middle of nowhere and being unable to move due to medical problems has made finding paid employment almost impossible. Nonetheless, even working as an unpaid volunteer in charity medical settings is job experience in my book and incredibly rewarding. Good luck to anyone who decides to pursue any healthcare; you are in for a real treat!
I graduate high school in may 2021 and I am going to college for nursing. You got any tips / suggestions that may be useful for me going into the medical field?
Do a lot of research and don’t be discouraged. Nursing is one of the professions out there. It’s really versatile and very rewarding. Definitely check out your schools nursing admission criteria.
Be prepared to lift a lot of patients for 90 lb nurses. It is what it is. Nothing wrong with becoming a doctor but some of us just want to live our life.
I don't know necessarily agree with what you're saying that there is no difference education wise no there is not a difference however actually being in the workplace there is a difference whether it be the bias of you being in there being supposed to be a doctor or being called a doctor you're getting hit on or harassed by female patients whether it be you being picked for the hardest jobs because you're a man there is definitely a stigma for male nurses you can't say everything is pretty much the same cuz it's not although I would not change my job for anything it is still challenging because I am a male even being kicked out of rooms just because I'm a God nine times out of 10 a woman doesn't have to worry about that
Honestly no. It's probably not a good idea to date the people you're going to be in class with for the next few years. I'm dating a nurse now but that was after I switched out of nursing 🤷
Do you feel like in the climate were in with the MeToo movement, and addressing sexual harassment. There still stands a place for Male Care providers?? I’m 50/50 about on one hand we have come along way with equality, and I’ve never minded patients requesting female techs/nurses etc but when these things happen and reach the higher ups and maybe change their minds on how present, or how “hands on” male caregivers should be 🤷♂️
There absolutely still stands a place for male providers! You’re a health care professional and most of the time the patient do not care as long as you do your job respectfully and well. I also think ppl forget that male patients may prefer to have a male provider because they too may feel more comfortable as well but not realize they can ask for one. If someone has a preference don’t take it personally
@@jasonlang9074 yeah but do you understand that male professionals have to be in the headspace of protecting themselves from possible lawsuits/accusations. Female Doctors, PO’s they have the authority to check male individuals regardless but even on the police force they HAVE to request female officers to physically check females. That’s become standard policy
I'm actually no longer in nursing school. If you want to know why I left, check this video out ruclips.net/video/J7genaxT_vQ/видео.html

males dont make more hourly, they are more likely to pick up more shifts.

good to know. exactly, some of us just want to be nurses and happen to be men
@@RyanMolkentin right 😂
There is your $5000-$10,000 higher salary.
You guys said it. Awesome .
Next week gonna start my residency in a hospital as a staff nurse
Best of luck!
I’m the only guy I’ve seen signed up for my schools dental assistant program…..was really hoping to not be the only guy.
Why it's a blessing lol
Why do male nurses make more than female nurses?

So nurses are basically underpaid doctor
No doctors are obviously much more knowledgeable for treatment and have much more years of schooling
Ratio=33:7
I’m out numbered 13 to 2 lol
Do being a male nursing student gets u a lot of girls. 😅
