There are a load of car reviewers on YT but keep doing these because you're very good at it - much better IMHO than a great many with your thorough testing.
I took a ride in the passenger seat in an earlier model from Sheffield to Heathrow and it’s a really quiet car inside for motorways. Hardly felt the trip. I remember the boxy shape made it very roomy.
I’ve owned my Fabia SE-L 110 for 6 months and I’m still really happy with it. It’s smooth, quiet and super comfy and drives beautifully. Mine has quite a few options too, such as Rear Disc Brakes (£100), Rear USB’s (£60), Simply Clever 2 (£310), 17” Wheels (£485), Sunset Glass (£170), Wireless Link (£100), Amundsen Upgrade (£110). I think there’s one or two things that should be standard such as Hill Holder (on manual transmissions) and Auto Wipers as only the lights are Automatically operated (but because it’s so good, I’ll forgive those two items). “Hey Laura” is really good and works well is you have interior voice control as does the Skoda Connect App. Overall, I’d say it’s a brilliant car and would definitely recommend it.
Thanks Richard. Good review. I’ve ordered a Colour Edition 110 with disc brakes (option at £100) wireless connection and Winter pack which includes loads of extras. Can’t wait. Cheers
Passed my test last week 1st time 4 minors with so much help from your videos so thank you so much Richard :) I would love to learn about cars and what all the parts do and how they work so would be cool if sometime you made a series on that sort of thing :)
The space, quality of engineering and design in this fabia you get for the price puts the rest of the VW brand to shame. Same goes for most Skoda models. Such a lot of car for the money. While even a fabia is pricy these days, you get the sort of car you’d expect 5 years ago from Audi, and probably better in some ways.
Fun fact : this car has launched in India under the name Kushaq and It has revived Skoda in Indian automotive market. They have made many changes in kushaq to look more like a mini suv but inside it’s fabia.
Great review as always! I just wanted to ask you, would you recommend a ford Fiesta mk7 or a mk8 as a first car? Also, are you planning to review a fiesta mk8 any time soon? Thanks!
i have a 2011 fiesta mk7 1.25 petrol with an lpg conversion. i 100% recommend it but beware fuel economy is not the best. also avoid diesels and ecoboost engines. i'd say 1.25 82hp or 1.6 are the picks of the range
I can't speak for MK8 but I have MK7.5 1.25 Zetec (80HP) and I'm quite happy with it. Average MPG is about 41 (combined city and 70mph motorway). It's not quick. Boot space isn't great imo, but I do have to carry large boxes often.
Test driven one today with similar specs to see how it compares to my Fabia MK3. Overall very impressive, felt quieter, smoother, better suspension and wider. My only dislike were the electric windows, which seemed relatively noisier than my MK3. I tried the park assist for parallel, but had to intervene as it got too close to a wall, no real need for this feature since it is easy to park, but with parking sensors The interior display can be spec'd to a larger display, which would be a must.
Thank you for an excellent review. Today is 7/9 /2024. Have you got a review of 2024 Skoda Fabia 1*0 TSI 116 SEL with heated seats & rear view camera extras? Very impressed with a thorough ,helpful review.
Kind of wild to see how the Fabia has developed. It used to have three versions - A hatchback, a station wagon and a sedan. Now it only has the hatchback. The Sedan was axed with the second generation, and I have no clue why there is no SW for the IV gen, but it's gone, too. I happen to own the Sedan, and I gotta say it's quite a bumbly little thing.
Fantastic video - that self-parking would be really handy in some situations and that was a good demonstration. Looking at this or stretching to a Kamiq .
Thanks for the nice and informative review of the new Skoda Fabia. I have to say though, that fuel consumption of 37 mpg or higher, for a drive around town, is not ideal for a city car. It's very bad actually.
Overall a nice review but: in the beginning you say 'it is not sporty' and 'I wouldn't call this car fun'' Well, I drove it fast on mountainous terrain and if you know how to drive, this car can definitely be sporty. These car 'journalists' just do not know what they are talking about. Yes if you drive slowly around 60 km/hr straight on a boring English road, it is not sporty. But this does not have anything to do with the car. The problem then is: the driver is not sporty. In the end you say smart things saying 'It is smooth and is a lot like a Golf' and it has little wind and tyre noise which I agree with. Although in the end you say it is pleasand, clever and so on. Then I doubt again how independent and objective it is as you have mentioned your relation with the Skoda dealership.
Isn't this amazing how far economy cars have come? The first two engine seen underpowered though. Maybe good enough as a delivery car in a city centre, but if you load the car with luggage and family, it'll probably struggle. I've noticed, watching RUclips videos, that auto park systems typically struggle with bay parkings. They seem to struggle to finish in one move. I think it is because starting position matters for these systems. You positioned the way you would do your park, and it may not be the same as the car's position. So it is worth experimenting of someone intends to actually use this feature. I've also seen RUclipsrs get really close to a bay as if they were doing a 45 degree method. And there is no way a car can finish a park from that position in one move, because it does a 90 degree method.
Economy cars certainly have come a long way. It's not plush but a long journey will be pleseant. I think if I started further from the bays it would have worked better. It doesn't seem to use the lines but instead the objects. You need another car to park next to. I hope you are OK. Not nice for you at the moment in Ukraine. I hope it's over soon.
Before the cheapest Škoda you could buy is the ICE version of the Citigo, but now it’s the Fabia, cos Škoda axed the ICE Citigo. Now you can only get the electric Citigo.
I have a Fabia an old 1 but folding seats down u pull up back seats first. This is so annoying when someone is meant to be reviewing a car doesn't do it. It's like they don't know the car that well.
Really appreciate the lengths of detail you go into on these car reviews, keep it up!
Thank you.
I agree, what a good review!

First time viewing your channel and am pleasantly surprised. Really concise and in-depth review. A joy to watch. Thank you.

It's great to hear you're enjoying it. It is a very good car. Bit stingy on standard equipment though but not that expensive to be fair.
I think your car reviews are my favourite ones
I loved the style throughout mate! I don't really understand why I've got this recommended just now!!
Good timing haha being given a 2002 skoda fabia as my first car tomorrow which is same day as my test 🤞🏻 :)

Great review, I’ve just taken delivery of my new Fabia colour edition 95ps, I do agree with your findings, I’m very impressed with my car 😊.

@@RichardFanders The Kushaq is not a Fabia! Tge Kushaq is an SUV not a supermini... its based on the T-Cross, not the Fabia

I think the wagon may be coming, but I'm not sure.
They axed the sports wagon, for the scala.

My 20 year old Volvo has one of those clips.
Does it add a little bit of gas automatically while lifting the clutch?
Skoda doesn't even exist in Canada, but I enjoyed your review all the way through!
Would this be good for a driving instructor car?
I do like a car with sharp angles. VW group cars are defo the sharpest out there atm. Defo dislike the grill. I like a thin grill.
can you rank i20 yaris and fabia according to yo uplease thanks

Think you'll find the umbrella pocket inside the passenger door
This car didn't have one. It's on the higher trim level.
Hi
Can you please make Toyota Auris review? You are great in reviews and That Toyota miss one really in depth, good review
Thank you, I may do in the future.
Can I Shift from Ford Figo Diesel ..? Is it worth shifting
I can't answer that question, you have to decise what car is best for you.

How can you give an independent, objective review when in the end you are thanking some local Skoda dealership?? this is not serious.
Good review but it’s not a cheap car!
It depends on the trim level. All cars have gone up in price massively recently.
@@RichardFanders they certainly have but Skoda seems best for value and quality mixed.
If you can put it on silent mode can you hypothetically cheat on a driving test with the self-parking mode...?
i think the examiner would notice the car steering by itself lmao...
Haha, I think they will see the steering wheel turn itself.
What the car is telling you are doing with mpg is no where near real world figure
ITS NOT A CHEAP CAR £15K IS A HEK OF A LOT OF MONEY, GRANTED IT MAY BE CHEAPER THAN MAIN STREAM VEHICLES BUT CHEAP IT IS NOT!!!

simply idiotic blinkers in the front
