@Daniel Peixoto Martins for years VW has been praised and criticised for only evolving the Golf. This time they "revolutionised" the interior, and as far as I'm concerned it killed the Golf for me. It lost all the practicality and usability, because someone decided to get rid of all the buttons.

28k for a fabia without leather seats, without electronic handbrake and with this ridiculous panoramic roof cover it is just a bad joke even If it was beautiful, which is not the case here. Noone will give above 20k for a fabia.
It will be weird that names as fabia octavia superb polo golf passat will disappear. Because 1. they will make place for crossovers and suv’s and 2. They will make place for only VAG EV platforms. And i don’t see a only EV platform for a octavia superb fabia polo golf or passat. But in 10’years we will slowly get used to it that they will slowly disappear from the roads .. just like cars like Mitsubishi gallant.. mazda 626.. ford sierra… Hyundai Lantra.. we remember them as history maybe nostalgia..
Why do you want 2 spoke steeringwheel? But n the 80s and beginning 90s only the budget cars had 2 spoke steeringwheels. I think they look cheaper. Than a 4 or 3 spokes
As owner of previous 3 generations of Fabia, I can only say - bay bay Skoda. Maybe I will check you out in 5 years (for Fabia V), but I doubt. Looking at a skoda is as exciting as watching paint dry.
Marek, quick call. If Fiesta ST, Opel Astra K (200 PS, Ultimate), Polo GTi were all the same price, which one would you pick? I know the Opel is bigger but the deals on it are ridiculous (probably due to the new one coming in). All have around 200 PS and I would naturally tend towards the Fiesta given my previous car but what do you think is currently the best hot hatch in the Polo-size class ? Or shall I just wait for your i20N review? Albeit I find Hyundai/Kia ICEs very inefficient vs competition
My i20N review is out for a month or so. I suggest you consider it.

@@MarekDrives what if it had to have an automatic transmission?
Marek, as André Citröen once famously said "2 spoke steering wheel is one spoke too many". I agree, I prefer less than more spokes in my steering.
Or was Einstein that said that? Really can't remember
Those Citroen single-spoke wheels were mega cool!
@@MarekDrives totally agree! I would love a one spoke, fixed centre hub steering wheel. That would be amazing!
7:05 Only a grand? Are we from the same planet? Only one whole salary?
Exactly. A grand for the exact same engine with a different software.
20 K for a fabia is wayyyyyyy too much money!!!!!!!!!!!!
Looks a lot like Seat Ibiza...
So 2 entire years of work and you can buy a car ahahha who comes up with this?
I think the Dacia 🏆wins
high starting price.....
Ali G Booyakasha!! LOLI!! What's with the puffer jacket Marek? It's 26c here. Nice review. This vehicle probably appeals to a lot of people but I find it kind of boring..
It was 10 at 5AM. And windy.
@@MarekDrives 5AM? You are a machine!
My modus operandi is to get shit done, before people start popping up out of nowhere, and everything will take twice as long :)
Believe it or not, but even at 5 AM three lost souls crossed my path on this out-of-the-way road.
@@MarekDrives lost? That’s when you bury the bodies.
👀
please tell me the footage from 02:00 `til about 02:45 was provided to you by Skoda...
otherwise this would be the final coffin in any future efforts of youtube videos for me...lol
Yes, it's stock footage. We don't have time during first drive events to film this much.
@@MarekDrives ok i see- i just remember you playing with that drone some years ago, so i wondered...keep it up!
No wonder the new Sandero sells like hot cakes! This car is overpriced.
Fabia starts from 16k. If you compare it to a similarly specced Sandero there is not a big difference. The new Sandero became more expensive too.
Thought you were going to say something as "Italian sedan because it brakes as often as one" or "the interior is as bad as one".
The 2 previous Fábias were such a disappointment to me, they looked ok, or even good but once you got in, the interior was horrible. I hope this one is better
This is pretty much the Mk7 Golf. The last good Golf.
@@MarekDrives is the MK8 golf that bad? I hadn't been in one but I have read pretty bad reviews.
@Daniel Peixoto Martins for years VW has been praised and criticised for only evolving the Golf. This time they "revolutionised" the interior, and as far as I'm concerned it killed the Golf for me. It lost all the practicality and usability, because someone decided to get rid of all the buttons.
@@MarekDrives I have to agree. I just watched your review on the MK8 and I was dead inside from all those touch things.
I was never a golf fan... But at 41... And driving so much in a motorway, I was about to consider it for my next car but I can't get past the lack physical buttons and also, that centre armrest doesn't look ok.... Maybe too low or too short but there is something wrong with it.
Yesterday I was I the new C4 which I wasn't considering as I have had plenty of Citröens and wanted something different but to be honest, I really liked it!
Currently I drive a 2009 C4 and as a second car a 1996 Passat, I would rather keep the Passat than to buy this golf.
Now, let me go back and rewatch your C4 review 😬
The new C4 is brilliant!
I would like to ask, in case someone knows, if in order to be able to project google maps through Android auto on the virtual cockpit, one need to have purchased the 9,2" screen with built-in navigation or the option is also available with the 8" infotainment system without navigation? Marek makes a comment about it @ 9:38. Thanks in advance.
You need to have SmartLink. I think it's optional on lower trim, and standard on higher trim cars.
Wole w PL Cię słuchać hahah
Yet despite all the changes it is still a cheaper Volkswagon, the last bit of proper Skoda Character ironed out to another Euro Box very sad really.
28k for a fabia without leather seats, without electronic handbrake and with this ridiculous panoramic roof cover it is just a bad joke even If it was beautiful, which is not the case here. Noone will give above 20k for a fabia.
too expensive, sorry skoda, I prefer my scala cng which I bought August 2020 with 17.000 euros!
Estate MK 4 canceled??? This was the most practical car in the whole segment. RIP
There's always the Scala. Fabia estate would cannibalize it.
But who will pay 28,000 for a fabia? Not average Joe and the fabia is a average Joe car
9:50, Skoda Scala had dual climate control before the new Fabia
I should have said Fabia. "For the first time the FABIA gets dual zone climate control."
Why do you want 2 spoke steeringwheel? But n the 80s and beginning 90s only the budget cars had 2 spoke steeringwheels. I think they look cheaper. Than a 4 or 3 spokes
I always liked two-spoke. Three-spoke looks good in an 80s Ferrari, but it doesn't make the 2022 Fabia any sportier :)
Very expensive. At this price it's more advantageous to buy a Golf 8 150HP
Yes, but the Mk8 Golf is crap. I should have bought the Mk7 (pre-facelift) Alltrack 1.8 TSI, and it would have been all the car I'd ever need.
@@MarekDrives completely agree. I have a MK 7.5 Gti with dsg and I don't even know what I could buy if I had to get a replacement.
It a shame not having diesel engine
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👌👌👌👌👌👌👍👍👍👍👍👍
As owner of previous 3 generations of Fabia, I can only say - bay bay Skoda. Maybe I will check you out in 5 years (for Fabia V), but I doubt. With previous Fabias I get "most car for my money" not only my opinion, this one pretend to be some thing more (by price) then A class car, but do not deliver. Exterior - a) looks like facelift of Mk3, b) if I wont KIA I will bay Korean one :-). Interior - ugly and unpractical (judging by the photos).
ridiculously expensive
sterring wheel are ugly and reminds on Škoda Favorit from early 90-s
That was actually a nicely drawn car.
@@MarekDrives yes,like tractor
Skodas all look the same. They are all like they have been cloned. VW and Audi too. Boring cars.
Because Toyotas all look so different :)
