They've kept the AC dials and rotary light switch! Very nice. Physical buttons on the steering wheel too. All that is missing is a volume knob. Touch buttons are not good enough.
well Skoda dont have these touch bullshit steering wheels in their cars, not even in Superb L&K, but in this class (B-segment for the Fabia) I dont think anyone has. As long as I know, you cannot even fit the highest spec Polo with this touch button steering wheel bs. Think they start to realise that this was just a trend. For the AC dials, as Thomas mentioned this is not a full manual climate control, as you have to adjust directions and speed on the screen. However, you will get a full manual ('oldfashioned') climate unit as standard across all trim lines (in the moment Active, Ambition and Style) and the one shown in the video is optional for around 300€ extra. Volume knob on the infotainment is also standard for every trim (6.5 inch screen for Active trim, 8 inch for Ambition and Style). The one shown in this video (9.2 inch Amundsen) is optional for around 1000€ extra in a package. For the rotary light switch I see no advantage over the new system with the 3 buttons as it is used e.g. in the Octavia. From usability aspect they are both the same, actually the new one is slightly better i think.
@@MoorhuhnIndy I use the light switch to turn off the lights every day when I sit outside work to not illuminate houses and such. It is also way easier to turn on the fog lights with the rotary dial.
@@Fekillix For the fog lights you actually have to turn the rotary dial to the dim lights first and then pull the switch out once. New version is just one press of a button.
@@UKTonyMagill Anything French or Japanese and also the Ford Fiesta. Even the facelift Polo looks sharper....B segment cars should be fun and have some character in the way they look and drive in my opinion.
Thomas, you were driving past a building site where new homes are being built - that's why the road is rubbish, it's normal in Poland to lay temporary road slabs, or have a bit of rough road. When the houses are finished and the workers pack up, then the road is relaid perfectly, don't worry!

Wow the interior is just amazing... And the new look outside is great as well! Skoda is just the best that VAG has to offer right now. Would never consider a VW or Seat over a Skoda at this moment. The only bad thing i can think of is the volumen knob missing. Good job Skoda

@11:21 Interesting panoramic roof cover. In Australia there have been reports of Kamiq and Scala (new Fabia not here yet) getting too hot as the shade does not keep enough sun out on hot days.
Not good. I've got a 2017 Fabia with a panoramic roof and it's an absolute greenhouse if it's in been parked in the sun during summer. Normally so hot that you can't touch anything inside for five minutes or so until the air con has been blasting. Never again.

Unfortunately it's not yet available in the UK and won't be for 6 months or so and the lease on my current car (BMW X!) runs out in November. Aaaarrrrgggghhhh!!!

I think it is beautiful fact that Skoda have raised from making rust prone, cheap quality and technically poor cars to fresh vehicles of such high standards. that can be compared to cars of german manufature. After all; they've managed to raise the level in few years and can take stiff sompetition from both Japan, Korea, France, Spain and Germany. Bravo! Even more I appreciate your serious approach to this affordable every-mans every-day product. Well it might not be perfect, but it surely is relevant and gives good value for most people. Man, that is great. I can't wait to test the wagon-version myself. So, "brudda", please let's meet next time you go to Denmark and have some time off for discussing the market relevance of cheaper and technically simple cars - they all need to be tested and compared by the most relevant parameters. Like total value and everyday stability. And how easily they can be maintained and repaired... Also I really thank you for mentioning aspects like the comfort, roadholding and the "fun of driving" of a cheap car like this Skoda. With the Scala, it doesn’t make sense to offer the Combi. If they offer the Combi, they can stop the Scala. Or Skoda have to restrict the Fabia Combi with 1.0 TSI 95 engine. Otherwise Scala doesn’t have any advantages. If the Rapid was a failure, it’s because the Fabia Combi offered more boot space while saving 3.000 EUR. Engines, trim level and options were very similar betweem Fabia Combi and Rapid. So, I would be surprised if Skoda is making the same mistake between Fabia Combi and Scala.
Better quality? Better car perhaps? You don't have to go for a Golf, even the Polo and the Ibiza have soft plastics compared to the hard ones in the Fabia.
That blue one att sec 9 looks soo nice! 😮 Was hoping for a Rally Green one but since there doesn't seem to be one i will go with Racing Blue or Phoenix Orange i think. But maybe wait for Monte Carlo tho!
My family owned years ago a Fabia..Not my style anyhow..i now have a estate car with a big trunk, but for the future i'll go for a sedan, suv or muscle car..my cousin owns a red Ford Mustang from 2016..As for this Skoda, nice small car, maybe more for girls or women.The best,thing..your review Thomas 👌
Kia picanto's and i20s are for girls and women... if you live is europe fabia is a pretty decent sized car that can be good for a young guy with the correct color and alloys and turn into a small family since it's almost golf sized and has the same boot, no for what you plan to get I suggest Skoda Superb or Octavia they got a great disel and the 1.5 TSI is pretty robust
I prefer the buttons on the infotainment system on the MKIII, shame that cars are going over to all touch screens. My 2021 colour edition Fabia seems to have a similar looking steering wheel, with slightly different functions. They are great cars, who needs an Audi....
My OH had a Škoda Estelle in Orange with Black Vinyl roof&Rapid 136 in white both 80s. I've driven Favorit&Felicia, Octavia mk1&136 Rapid. If I buy a Škoda it would be Octavia VRS or Superb maybe even Yeti &Karoq with 4x4.

Last year I had the SEAT Mii 1.0TSI for a courtesy car for 3wks and have driven Ford's 1.0T in Focus,CMax,Fiesta&KA+ and Citroëns 1.0T in C3 . I would prefer a bigger engine even though they were all nippy.
Love the outside, but that sunroof cover and the cup holders are just those little practical bits that would annoy me. I’ll stick to my Mk3 Fabia Monte Carlo for now
Such a smart car now, almost as smart as its VW cousin. Thanks for doing the boot measurements in inches, too. It helps those of us in the old world (eg outside the EU), and I always compare with my Honda Jazz for comparison.

Miles better than a boring polo
It may be good looking for a Skoda Fabia but in a wider context this is a very bland small car with no interesting or noteworthy design features.

This thing with the reliability and warranty of a Japanese car would honestly be the perfect supermini.
Fuel economy sounds high. Our 2018 fabia does under 5 (about 40mph average speed). Then again, it's a manual.
That blue one att sec 9 looks soo nice! 😮 Was hoping for a Rally Green one but since there doesn't seem to be one i will go with Racing Blue or Phoenix Orange i think. But maybe wait for Monte Carlo tho!
My family owned years ago a Fabia..Not my style anyhow..i now have a estate car with a big trunk, but for the future i'll go for a sedan, suv or muscle car..my cousin owns a red Ford Mustang from 2016..As for this Skoda, nice small car, maybe more for girls or women.The best,thing..your review Thomas 👌

Kia picanto's and i20s are for girls and women... if you live is europe fabia is a pretty decent sized car that can be good for a young guy with the correct color and alloys and turn into a small family since it's almost golf sized and has the same boot, no for what you plan to get I suggest Skoda Superb or Octavia they got a great disel and the 1.5 TSI is pretty robust

I prefer the buttons on the infotainment system on the MKIII, shame that cars are going over to all touch screens. My 2021 colour edition Fabia seems to have a similar looking steering wheel, with slightly different functions. They are great cars, who needs an Audi....

My OH had a Škoda Estelle in Orange with Black Vinyl roof&Rapid 136 in white both 80s. I've driven Favorit&Felicia, Octavia mk1&136 Rapid. If I buy a Škoda it would be Octavia VRS or Superb maybe even Yeti &Karoq with 4x4.
But are they going to offer a vRS version, to compete with the new Hyundai I20N??

Will they be launching a diesel version? The 118hp 1.6tdi engine would be great in this large supermini with amazing fuel consumption potential. Do you remember the 2014 / 15 Polo bluemotion tdi 82g with 107 mpg on the highway.

Last year I had the SEAT Mii 1.0TSI for a courtesy car for 3wks and have driven Ford's 1.0T in Focus,CMax,Fiesta&KA+ and Citroëns 1.0T in C3 . I would prefer a bigger engine even though they were all nippy.
I get 60mpg from new Fabian in the uk.
Seat and Skoda are getting much better than their owner.
Actually the Skoda Fabia has hard plastcs everywhere , whereas the SEAT Ibiza has soft.

Love the outside, but that sunroof cover and the cup holders are just those little practical bits that would annoy me. I’ll stick to my Mk3 Fabia Monte Carlo for now
I'm looking forward to the Combi (I have a 2019 Gen 3 Monte Carlo 110PS which is a very practical small car).
I've heard the Combi will unfortunately not be built until 2024, when they stop production of the current Superb.
Im curious how it compares to the Mercedes A-Class hatchback.

Such a smart car now, almost as smart as its VW cousin. Thanks for doing the boot measurements in inches, too. It helps those of us in the old world (eg outside the EU), and I always compare with my Honda Jazz for comparison.
