    I've had my 2024 Fabia Monte Carlo for a year now and it's a great car. Does everything it's competitors do, for a fraction of the cost. Love it! Great review :)

    Bought my Fabia SEL last october and picked it up on March the 1st. First time i have ever bought a new car. Phoenix orange with the winter pack and copper interior. I absolutely love it. The dsg gearbox is lovely, and it's so smooth on the roads. Actually enjoy driving again.

    Now the Ford Fiesta is no more, the Skoda Fabia is one of the most rounded and capable small cars around. Such is the quietness and smoothness on the motorway, it feels like a larger car...... the 110 bhp engine is plenty for most people.

    Just wanted to say they’ve made some changes for 2024, so the screen you showed when talking about the SE comfort was the old 6.5 inch display. Now all come with a minimum 8.5 inch display which is an update on the 8 inch you used to get in colour edition. The SE comfort now comes with a 8 inch digital drivers display as well so it’s really good value since those changes.

    • @joejones965
      @joejones965 2 месяца назад +1

      They’ve also updated the 110hp engine so it now has 116hp. (I’ve been doing a lot of research because this is probably going to be my next car 😭)

    Loved the car and the Monte Carlo trim level, but, I might be a bit old fashioned in preferring chrome trim around the grille and window surrounds, rather than black. My first car, the first Fiesta model, had black window surrounds and bumpers for the basic model. The next trim level up was the L with chrome! Love the review Tish!

    Great review Tish, I love the Skoda Fabia as it offers a big boot and a modest exterior design. The interior design looks a bit old-fashioned to me, especially the infotainment system. I hope the Fabia will be awarded the title of 'Hatchback of the Year'. Also the Fabia sounds like the perfect 1st car.
    Thanks again for the excellent review (i am currently working on my review 😀)

    Great review thanks! Made me laugh when you said a little bit plasticy but it's ok for a car of this pricepoint. Specced up these can run to 30k ish..quite ridiculous for a little hatch! I know things have moved on but I remember getting a top of the range 2.8 VR6 highline golf with leather and roof for just £18600 and before that a top of the range Astra GSi for £12600!

      Yes, and a nice house for 125k. I had a VR6 in 1997, when a pint of beer was 2 quid, and a tank of fuel was 35 quid. Times change, and everything increases in price.

    • @wolfypics7339
      @wolfypics7339 7 дней назад

      @@simonmellor4028 Nope not everything increases in prices you are wrong.. al lot electrical goods are cheaper..washing machines, TVs, microwaves ( I can list 100s!) cameras,printeres/printing, virtually anything computer related, international phone calls, paying money around the world, lighting, solar panels, I can go on and on on on for 1000s of items that are cheaper now than 30 years ago.. so don't say things like 'everything' increases in price when clearly it doesnt!

    I had one of the previous generation Fabias in SEL trim some time ago. It was a great car and never let me down over the 4+ years of ownership. My car was a 1.2 4 pot turbo and it was fine once spun up. I like the current version but I have not driven one. I only sold mine due to a back injury over 5 years ago but the current model would be on my test drive list probably with the 1.5 engine in this spec, I've been spoilt by the auto in my current car. A great overview Tish as always and thanks for sharing.

    Thanks for another super review. I'm glad you mentioned that you can fit three people in the back. It's so weird to have reviewers review much larger cars like a Rav 4 and call it 'strictly a 2 seater in the back' - are they transporting basketball teams?!
    In Australia, the only downside is the price with the Fabia Monte Carlo only a couple of clicks below the Polo GTI or Kamiq Monte Carlo but it is a lovely car.

    Bought a new 2019 Fabia Colour edition (the previous gen) with a great 1.2ltr triple engine... At the time paid £10500... Brand new! The previous gen is not so different than the latest... Mostly internal improvements.
    Look at Skoda prices now... The Comfort entry level is £18k... Wow!
    Good cars but Skoda are pricing themselves out of the entry level market.
    Plus I reckon a complete revamp of the model must be just around the corner. At these prices, I personally would wait.

  • @Alex-pulsar
    @Alex-pulsar 20 дней назад

    Interesting review, but I disagree with some aspects. In the maximum configuration (in standard configurator!) with 18 inch wheels and sports rubber, 150 hp engine, with sports suspension this car will be quite sporty and sharp, the maximum speed of 240 km per hour was quietly achieved on the autobahn. As for the double floor in the boot, a center armrest and rear charging - this options could be added in the configurator for relatively small price (even in "old" 2022-23 year models). The maximum price of the maximum configuration will reach about 35k today and it will be much cheaper than a similar configuration for the VW Golf. Verdict - a perfectly balanced model for reasonable money.

    • @TheTwilight4evr
      @TheTwilight4evr 28 дней назад

      Fuel economy is fantastic. The Mk 4 Comfort 95 bhp 3 cylinder, this shape. Max 61 mpg on motorways and usually 54 mpg on shorter journeys - if you drive it carefully, of course. Similar to the Mk 3 Fabia. Although, I miss the big cat engine growl of the old model. Also, the newer shape has a timing chain as opposed to s timing belt with the Mk 3 Tsi engine. As a package it has to be unbeatable in its class.
