I’ve had my Fabia SE-L 110 since March and it’s a really good car. I traded in a Puma ST-Line X 155 that quite frankly, was totally rubbish. I had owned the previous Fabia in 2017 and this new one is considerably better - not that I had any issues with the old one. The Fabia is so much better built and doesn’t rattle or vibrate either like the Puma. Although it’s 45bhp less than the Puma, it doesn’t bother me because my Puma sounded so harsh when accelerating hard and I prefer the quiet smoothness this car offers. Inside it’s airy and light, which is a rarity as so many manufacturers are making their cars with dark & dismal headlining which I really dislike personally. I’ve clocked up 5,000 miles now with no troubles at all. Everything works as it should, the tech is very good and it’s powerful enough for Motorway driving. I get around 50mpg on most journeys and there’s plenty of room for 4. I have a list of options on mine but do feel that given mine is supposed to be Top Spec (Monte Carlo as the exception) it’s a bit stingy on standard kit. I would’ve expected power fold mirrors and front sensors as standard. That said, it’s still less expensive than the equivalent Polo once you’ve factored all of those options in. Overall I love it and would definitely recommend if you’re after a quiet and comfortable car. So many that have been in mine have also commented how impressed they are with it as a passenger too.
As much as I used to love Skoda their recent offerings seem to have picked up the VW group disease of charging a *fortune* for kit that other manufacturers get as standard. From the blurb on their website it sounded like things such as digital dials and safety systems were going to be standard this time round. Apparently not (and yes, it can be read as 'provided you pay us enough money'). A real shame as this often ends up pushing their products up to silly price points compared to the competition.
cant believe how much these fabia have grown up and how popular they are. really nice cars the tech these now have for very little money compared to cars in the class.
We had the Scala 1.0 TSi SEL DSG for two days, absolutely loved it. Very funky inside, well built with gorgeous digital dash and touch screen. LED headlights we're crisp and bright and the engine certainly worked hard. Nippy little thing. Cracking car. I can only imagine what this would be like with same engine/gearbox offering 😃😃😃
I'd say that this looks like it will be exceptional value even if not much cheaper than direct rivals for the simple fact that it has the space to be used like a compact. Compared with a golf or focus it's obviously going to be much cheaper so this looks a decent option for a small family car
Better than the car class and features explained by you in such details, were the video quality. Absolutely loved the location, the camera angles, the all type of shots drones, foreground bokeh, wide, zoom all of them. I felt peace of mind by seeing the entire video particularly for the location
Nice looking car. I hope it sells well for Skoda. I have one problem. Why did it have to get so much bigger?? A major point of owning a small car is that is SMALL. I believe the Citigo has been dropped. Such an excellent little machine. So when I go to replace mine , it will have to be a Fabia . Which now, sad.y is way bigger.
I have a 66 plate fabia monte carlo so I would very much enjoy lookin at this new shape in the monte carlo trim but the car is very nice I love the interior very very nice how it's laid out
I have checked this car against 208, Corsa and i20. Quality wise (metarials, overall feel, small details) it beats ALL of them by far - only top line 208 has an edge but in my market that would cost more than 20% more than Fabia with similar specs! In any case, with cars being so much filled with electronics you casn not practically expect any brand to be much cheaper than others, it is just unrealistic, so those compalining about Skoda increasing its prices they should look into Dacia cars or Chinese, it is as simple as that... . Externally it is not a market leader of course but is not bad either (subjective matter). Internally is not only roomy but also just great for that segment (objective comment, as much as it can be). Engine wise it is stronger than all (1 liter turbo versions) and with better nominal consumption. Regarding optional kits, like for like it is cheaper even than i20 (if you complain about Skoda pricing, what then about Hyundai?). Only question remains reliability and in that area only Hyundai is theoretically better (I say 'theoretically' because the Hyundais mechanically are certainly more reliable -albeit much less refined- but on electronics and longevity of plastics I have doubts, in my experience they are really not better to say the least - I owned a previous gen i20 and I know...). As you may have understood I am ordering the (top spec) Fabia with 110hp engine, there are no flaws as such and sitting behind the steering wheel it does give a really upmarket feeling that only 208 cabin can match - but at a much higher price and with a peculiar driving position that I am not really a fan of... . Just to know, I am now driving a leased company owned Fiesta Vignale - really great on the road, better than 208 (I say this because some say they are equivalent - they wish!) and with great steering, engine and (manual) gearbox but as we speak Ford can not project deliveries in my market and not even give a price and I do need something with more space and 'better' overall as such - very good car though, everybody should consider Fiesta seriously in that segment... . These are my personal views of course... SAFE DRIVING TO EVERYONE
Yes,but depending which country you live in it will cost you 35.000 euro or more, and thats alot for a fabia...(i drive a 1 liter tsi,95 hp style+extra's fabia since januari 26.000 euro)
Skoda unfortunately announced that Fabia Combi gen. 4 wont be released at all .. Euro 7 would most likely make it impossible to sell it for an optimal price long before the face lift of this model stops being made. I think its unfortunate because it was a fleet car favorite for smaller companies and the cheapest family car with a really big boot.
Well done for mentioning Gdańsk, Poland. In Poland, Skoda are pretty much the default choice for the discerning, but undemanding driver. I have checked the prices on the Skoda Poland website and yes, it is more expensive, but you get more bang for your buck, i.e. you get a lot of equipment. However, if you want larger alloys, metallic paint, digital dials, heated seats, heated windscreen and heated steering wheel, you pay a lot more. A similar story for the sunroof, bi-xenon lights, etc. Otherwise, you would have a car for over twenty thousand pounds or 100,000 Polish złoty, which means you could afford a well-specced VW Golf!
I'm pretty undemanding when it comes to cars. I wouldn't mind something dead simple and very affordable from Skoda, but I guess those days are long gone.
I thought this too. Since it released though, the Scala has been the odd one out. Trying to fit in a gap between the Fabia and the Octavia which is, arguably, non-existent. The new Fabia seems almost identical to the Scala in terms of its overall dimensions. I don’t feel there’s enough room for both to comfortably coexist.
If I was getting a new supermini, I would much rather the new Toyota Yaris hybrid for its excellent fuel economy and the stylish looks. Being honest, the Fabia would be much bigger but I don’t have a family so it doesn’t really bother me.
I agree with you as the Yaris is a little gem in so many ways. However, I love driving and the fiesta ST-Line is as close to perfect (for me) as it gets.

Wish Skoda would offer the most powerful petrol version with a 6 speed manual. Also I find it strange there were no RS models from the Fabia recently, meanwhile Skoda is smashing with the R5 rally cars in almost everywhere. Doesn't make any sense to me.

Yeah, looks good if a little "me too" in terms of styling. I wish the fad of privacy glass would end, personally I think it looks naff. My guess is around 16K for a decent spec on this, so I won't be tempted to trade in my 2005 Fabia...but the new model will probably depress the prices of the previous one, which is good news for shrewdies after a bargain! :)
I have a 2006 Fabia which I love, but it will fall out of London's Ultra low emission zoning next year. I am currently looking for something compliant, but the price of used cars is now very high and there is no way I can stretch to a new or even nearly new one.
Skoda like kia and hyundai are starting to lose their edge on £. It will be their demise. The general poor public want a car that costs less. Look at Dacia in Europe. My friend bought a Fabia 2006 estate, 1.4 petrol auto. 150k miles now. Carries his 2 big dogs. Electric sunroof, heated seats and cruise control, all of which work still. Yes its relatively slow but a 1.4 auto what dyu expect. Only ever needed service items. He joked at 100k it was doomed now hes going for the 200k. These cars are too exp for the masses and thats where they have lost the plot imo. Also his skoda can be repaired easily.
To be fair I’m not that bothered. Of more interest is the way it drives optional extras etc. which he delivers in a clear and concise way. Thanks for the link but probably won’t bother watching.
Many people don't ever want an electric car, me included. One of these would last remainder of driving for a substantial number, so a way to still enjoy motoring. Well done Skoda.

Yes I agree the list price will look good, but then the additional kit will make it overpriced.
Digital dials are standard on the very reasonably priced Colour Edition. The options are what they are. Options.

Just bought a M3 Fabia estate , 1.4tdi manual, & adore it! So nippy, feels like a small car but has a huge practical boot.

I have the monte carlo on a 64 plate. Absolutely love it but do not like the new style

It's an obsolete ICE vehicle...I'm disappointed VW Group and Skoda haven't released a small, affordable and reasonable range electric vehicle...
