    So a strong competitor in the sub-20k price range? Crazy to write down that number given I still recall when the budget class was refered to as the 'sub-10k' category.

    • @bensmithkent22

      Prices since covid and im not an expert or a dealer, I’m just going by what I got for my money at a certain time not that long ago. Factoring in inflation etc. 10k would get you a nice lowish milage two year old small hatch in 2017. Astra k sri nav. Nowadays Ive seen 64 reg golf 7 tsis on forecourts for 12500. Regular match ones not gtds or gtis. Now 2017 granted is 8 years ago. Early 2020. You could be in a nice lowish mileage e220d amg or 520d 66-18 platers going for 20-24k. Imagine now trying to get a two year old small exec or full exec for less than 30.

    Remember when those clever Czechs were doing crazy and popular things like the vRS, the Roomster, and the Yeti...until someone in Germany thought Skoda were getting a little bit ahead of themselves, and for a lot less money..? Now all they can do is make cars that, to some, look better than big brother VWs, while the German management on secondment in Skodaland makes sure they cost closer to VW money.

    Awesome video again mark, even without the tomfoolery. Does the party horn blower thingy come with the car or do I have to supply that myself. It wasn’t mentioned on your excel spreadsheet.

    • @vanaramauk
      @vanaramauk  2 года назад +1

      Turns out you can’t buy just the one party horn blower thingy so now I have 30 of them. Might make them my thing just in general life.

    • @pauljakeman
      @pauljakeman 2 года назад +1

      @@vanaramauk Go for it man! A different one every day for a month. Or use in upcoming videos. How many you can fit in a glovebox for a good comparison in size? A good way to check how good the cabin insulation suppresses noise by blowing the party blower thingy outside and seeing what you can hear inside? How long the car is by measuring it with party horn blower thingys? (Cm and metres are so last decade) the possibilities are endless I guess! 🥳🥳🥳🥳

    "The pulling away issue" Doesn't happen on the 95! The 110 is just a slightly more stressed version of the same engine and with the 6 speed, 1st gear is more snatchy on the uptake! I have had both but went back to the longer geared 95 with the 5 speed :)

    Looks interesting .. i had basically all generations of fabia except this 4th gen but I do have a Kamiq now. Im interested to see how many functions of that car are actually retained in this new gen Fabia. Im pretty sure Fabia now also has Lane Assist .. I just wish it would actually keep the car in the middle of the road, not just bounce it everytime you get too close to the lane. Also that VRS footage while still relevant is the 1st gen that was actually a diesel .. 2nd gen VRS ( 2nd gen as a whole is IMHO the worst looking fabia ) was twin-charged - legendary engine but unfortunately because it was just so unreliable :D 3rd gen fabia had a limited R5 edition that basically took a 4-cyl 1.4L 92kW petrol engine automatic used in škoda rapid and stuffed it inside a fabia - not that exciting on its own but it has a LOT of power when chipped - probably still sux cause of the gearbox. 4th gen fabia is still waiting for 1,5 liter 4cylinder petrol if it ever actually gets it.
