what sucks even more is when you have something rock solid and spent all this time on it annnnnnnnd the client hates it and you have to go back to the start. Even worse is they have a really terrible idea that's going to look awful but thats how they want it so you have to do it. Such is life as a designer. Great video btw
Oh yes... been there, done that. The logo is ... ok now... But i still have my idea on my drive, and I still like the design so much better and can see that it would have been OUTSTANDING. Now the logo is ... like all the other logos in that area. But oh well, the client is happy now.
Look... When I see or hear such, on the other end 😢.... I feel like squeezing your éárrrrr like orange buh... Yeah, I am a god and i can create that's my life...
Trust me, even the paid tutorials and courses (that I purchased) can't provide the same experience. Seeing the real process of crafting a logo design from scratch, going through all the steps and problem-solving, makes this a truly enriching video to watch. Thank you!
Genuinely thank You for sharing the process. When looking at the finished product videos, it seems like other designers are shaking the designs out of their sleeves, and I am stuck. I know that is not the actual case, but it helps to see someone else's process. Love Your work and videos, man.
Being completely honest I completely judged based off your short form content. But I'm glad I gave you a chance on YT. Real honest and relatable, as someone who can let the inner critic get to me, I appreciate that.
As a website designer I can feel that creativity block a lot! Glad I'm not alone. So many people online present it as the easiest thing in the world to be creative. The work may be easy physically but it's a mental challenge for sure. Thanks for sharing your struggles CJ.
As a novice, it's encouraging to see that even a professional gets stuck sometimes. And it's so helpful to see how you worked through it. You're right that a lot of people want to see the realities of working in the profession. Subscribed! Looking forward to watching more of your videos.
Great that someone (esp from the UK) is making honest design related content. Please keep it real, I think the creative community is crying out for this. If there’s any way we can build a design/creative community count me in! 🤘
Es genial tener este tipo de contenido que de una u otra manera genera mucha motivación y un auto respeto por nuestro trabajo!! Gracias por compartir tu proceso 👊
You are so real for putting all this information and showing actual struggles. Creative block is tough and you solved it with greatness. Very impressive! Love from Argentina❤
What an amazing video! I've been a designer for some time, and this is definitely one of the best pieces of content I've ever seen on this subject. Your work has been truly inspiring to me, thank you so much. Greetings from Brazil!
Thank you for sharing! And, thanks for the chuckle. Ha! We've all been there rockin' along and then notice our design looks phallic. I'm glad you have a buddy you can bounce ideas around with and get constructive feedback. Looking forward to seeing the end result of this logo design and for more videos.
this really helps me understand how other people deal with creative blocks and how to overcome it. also, thank you for answering questions on the brand builder summit. you're awesome!
You just make my day by this vido....😎🤙 You're only a designer who really show the difficulties and the problem behind designing the logo. So this one is great, I have ever seen...🤘👊
This was as well an opportunity to get a feel off your workspace. Its amazing Ceej. Cool concept breakdown too Can't wait to see the final concept presented to the client.
Brilliant! Thank you for showing us a true day-in-the-life of a logo design. I have more days like this than not! Keep up the great work and love your content!
Thank you so much for sharing this! I've always been interested in how others ideate in the process of designing a logo. As designers we need to propose the best solutions to our clients, even when they don't know they needed it, that's why we need to note down all the details on the brief and keep reviewing, in case there are things that we missed. Looking at other logo designs on Pinterest while designing one is kind of challenging, because I feel like imitating the design I'm looking at rather than based on the brief. Been following your shorter content on other socials for a while now and it's really nice to you break down all the details in a longer form of content. Can't wait for more! 😄
I love that you are sharing this process. I feel this every single time I design a logo! It's important that people see all the thoughts and work that goes into creating a logo.
Hey dude! Thank you so much for sharing this experience with everyone else. I'm glad to see we all have the same struggles, but I'm happier to see we can come up with unique ideas. I'm looking forward to seeing more videos down the road! Peace!
I haven't even started the video and I'm pretty sure this would help me a lot in my journey to improvement. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us beginners, Cj!
I'm glad you changed that original F; it looked like an uppercase L. The second variation was much closer to a cursive F! Love seeing this process. This happens to me on every project. I'm so glad to know it's not just me!!
I’m grateful to see your creative process. I'm a new graphic designer and I tempt to be professional. Fear of fail is permanent, I try to prepare all documents I need when I'll start my job, but I'm so affraid of forgetting something before, so I push back the date ! 😅 Nevertheless, keep showing us your beautiful work and all of your tips ! It help a lot 💖
I couldn’t agree more. Whenever I’m stuck, I usually just go back to the brief & interestingly enough end up finding something that puts me back in my groove. Other times I go back to my initial sketches and there’s usually one potential idea that I explore and wound up with a masterpieces 😊
Great video 👏 👏 you could have edified the video to make it look like you achieved your goal in a day, but you didn’t, that’s super authentic - love that openness 👌
wooo bro thank you for sharing all this !! Is very inspiring !! And yes making a logo does S****ks but its so fun at the same time, especially when you feel that you are so close to get it done! nice video quality!!
I want to say congrats brother. You are doing amazing work, and are very passionate. My two cents (and I make like 120k a year just at a bank doing their dumb design stuff) is don’t overthink everything…. But take that with a grain of salt! Because you are 10X more creative than I am…. I just have to come up with these kind of ideas in like an hour vs. a day. Much love!
awesome video CJ, as usual. is there a chance you can share a video with The Visual Identity Toolkit? and sort of guidance on what should we ask to get more feedback from the client? Thanks man!!
I love this video, it's actually one of the best regarding logo design process...although I feel like this f looks little bit like j... Idk if it's just me but it gives me this kind of JH thougts instead of FH
hi cj your new subscriber form Pakistan 😊. its very helpful thank you. i am trying to create my own logo . i am graphic designer . after 3 and half years of experience ... finally trying to create my logo. and totally confuse what to create.
Hey man! I am a new graphic designer and i still haven't had any clients, and i wanna ask when you suggest the logo to the client, do you send them the PDF file with any watermarks, or just as? Thank you anyways!!
Great video! I would like to study graphic design, but I'm not sure yet, as I've heard that artificial intelligence will replace that job, what do you think?
And then the client says can we see a few more options? :D I assume there's a setting of expectations beforehand of what your brief and process is to the client, how they go over mood boards etc to predefine a direction, and what they will be ultimately presented with... how often do you get asked for multiple options versus iterations on one direction? Personally, I don't like to provide multiple choice, as it leads to Franken-logos.
🥹🥹🥹 thanks for the shoutout daddy Ceej 💚 loooooved where you ended up with this piece, people aren't ready for the custom logotype 🤤
Sir please create videos
I saw you on LinkedIn

Giving yourself a deadline in the midst of a creative block WHILE filming and planning content is savage.

Idk if it's just me but it gives me this kind of JH thougts instead of FH
Good one please do more cj......
First time viewing, happy sub! Great content
Love this!❤
Great video 🎉
I was thinking if it would become better looking if you decreased the size of H. Still looks aesthetically pleasing tho.
The thumbnail is my reaction to that information
Thanks for the great video but when you are showing the sketches it was not that visible because of white paper and light so try to adjust it thanks❤
I would suggest to minimize the length of the vertical stems of the H to make em looks kinda like serifs that would get you the F and the H
This is great
cmon cj, you and i both know that all we do is 'play around' on the computer and it should only take an hour 😜🤣
Great! I want the same video for harvard logo
What type of MacBook stand are you using?
hi cj your new subscriber form Pakistan 😊. its very helpful
thank you. i am trying to create my own logo . i am graphic designer . after 3 and half years of experience ... finally trying to create my logo. and totally confuse what to create.
Create more videos like this
I've been screaming at the monitor because i was always reading FI and then LH until the end of the video. The final is good tho
Hey man! I am a new graphic designer and i still haven't had any clients, and i wanna ask when you suggest the logo to the client, do you send them the PDF file with any watermarks, or just as? Thank you anyways!!
nice monogram, think you could smaller sketches at first so you don't spend much time filling in...?
Great video! I would like to study graphic design, but I'm not sure yet, as I've heard that artificial intelligence will replace that job, what do you think?
Lurv the monogram!
