Working on this railway has got to be considered one of the world's "perfect" jobs. You're up there in that beautiful forest, the train doesn't go too fast, and the cargo doesn't seem too overbearing and cumbersome. Almost like a Pettycoat Junction way of life.

The altitude of the destination station Alishan is 2,216 m.

Feels like I'm lying on a couch, which I am, but that the couch is bolted on to the back of the train, all healthy and safe, and I've no fear or danger of falling off, no more than I do now. The frontwards facing one also but the backwards facing one soothed moreso. I think, on viewing further, hence the edit, that what it is is that the frontwards facing sections were thrilling and promising whereas the backwards facing sections left one with a feeling of nostalgia for the moment one is in. But yeah, even a bucket seat gaffa taped on to the back with your legs dangling, some manner of seatbelt arrangement, again gaffa tape would suffice. Guerilla Glue. I don't have a Degree in Moon.

Thanks for your watching. The train carried sand, gravel and cement for civil engineering. At first, this train was an empty train from Alishan Station to Erwanping(二萬平). The train loaded sand, gravel and cement at Erwanping and then went to 62.5K near the 1st Switch. Finally, the empty train returned to Alishan Station. This is what you see in the video. This forest is located in Alishan Township, Chiayi County, Taiwan 🇹🇼.

The route from the 1st Switch to the Shizilu(十字路) currently interrupted and is under repair. It will take another 2 years to have a chance to see the cab ride of 1st switch to the lower elevation section.

ビデオで映った部分、最初の第一分道から神木駅（28分頃）は未だ定期的な客車列車がありません。神木駅から本線の終点の阿里山駅は定期的な客車列車があります。また本線の始発駅の嘉義駅から途中の十字路駅までは定期的な客車列車があります。十字路駅から第一分道の間は台風で路盤まで崩落され、現在は代替ルートのトンネルを掘った最中でした。
