Robin Hobb wrote my favourite books of all time. I was growing up with Fitz and all. Now I'm a Mom, and reading about Fitz who had grown older too. I want these books last forever. But they will not. I'm afraid to finish this story.

This final trilogy of the entire series really is excellent and so strong, very emotional, logically very strong, a real masterwork.

What a great interview! Interesting how Fitz and the Fool inhabit her subconscious mind.

    I love her books deeply.
I would hate to see a TV show or movie that mangles her work as "Legend of Earthsea" by SciFi channel really did quite horribly to Ursula K LeGuin's magical books.
But I would certainly love to see someone tackle Hobb's books with love and dedication and a true desire to make something that does justice to the books.

I've listened to all the books on audible and it irks me that the narrators keep changing, even in the same trilogy. They all pronounce things differently. And I swear in the last trilogy every time the narrator says vindeliar they had to stick in a re-cording of her pronouncing it vindel-EER because it always sounds out of sync/tone with the rest of the sentance. And l swear they accidentally left in a section where she called him Vinde-LIAR.

There certainly is a marked difference in voicing between Hobb and Lindholm, but the striking similarity is they both excel at having their characters explore ethics and ideas in a profound way without offering answers.

I’d love to see a true to the books live action. No woke bullshit, I want everyone to be as they are portrayed in the books.

Actually, a really good adaption is one that stays true to the very heart of the books but then puts a fresh spin and take on it. Someone said that an adaptation with Fitz as a woman would actually enhance the books.
HEAR ME OUT. At first I was like NOOOOOO but...then I thought about it and realised how much advantage a young girl would have in Fitz's position as an assassin. I also think a girl is going to talk about her feelings more and probably makes things worse for herself (for instance she'll fight back against Burrich more and they'd have a more strained relationship but it would still be one of the deep love however much they fight) in opposition to Fitz who just refuses to communicate and then when he does its too late to.

@@juliall255 Write a different story then, not like there haven't been a million spy/assassin books or stories with some type of telepathy. I would much rather see a continuation of what has already been established. If you want a woman protagonist that would be incredible to follow, let me introduce you to Bee Farseer or Nettle Farseer...or a completely new one.

@@ericrose2409 Same goes for your dream on an adaption that is exactly like the book....? Just read the book? You should only adapt if the adaption has a fresh angle on it

Rly like farseer and liveship books. Was kinda dissappointed with last 3 but that might be cause of my own desires. I wanted to see a more capable fitz and more interaction between him and bee.

Why is Fitz annoying? I don't find Fitz annoying. The Fool is annoying. Also, much as I love Robin Hobb, I wonder whether her books could maybe have done with a little more editing.
