Robin is hands-down my favourite fantasy author.

there are two thrones on the written word dais. S King used to hold both. apparently, he was keeping the other warm until R Hobb brought the Elderlings Saga to the world & claimed hers

The point she makes about people of different ages reading the books is interesting, I know someone who read the Fitz books in early 20s and then again recently, ten years later, and I asked this person how it was different, reading them now as an older person, as a parent etc.

To address the issue of the reader's wanting the books to go in a certain direction, first of all, I say: I read fantasy to get out of my life. If I read something that goes the way I want it, it's not really an escape. Secondly, that is what fan fiction is for. Let the readers write how they want things to go, with the understanding that this is STRICTLY fan fiction and authors are under NO OBLIGATION to follow these story lines.

    I like how she's wearing non-matching earrings.

The interviewer spoke too much and was more interested in sharing his own thoughts
