    Fitz and his animal companion will always be my favourite characters as that’s where my Robin Hobb journey began so he’ll always hold a very special place in my heart. Her characters are amazing, one of the best writers of characters imo, absolutely brilliant author.

    This was a great introduction video. Next time I try to convince someone to read Robin Hobb I'll sent them here instead of rambling incoherantly at them!

    Genuinely love how you love books. This is more a view on what you're doing here overall but so few critics/reviewers are willing to meet a book for what it is without their own ego in the way. I do love Robin Hobb but don't like Fourth Wing but the fact that you can give both a fair shake really says a lot about your quality as a reviewer/critic.

    Robin Hobb, our most beloved queen ! Been watching a few of your other vidéos and thank you for your open mindness and respect ! (It's good to see a male fantasy reader that is not bashing romantasy for the sake of it and gives an actual thoughtfull and constructiv pro/cons arguments!) Anyway, keep the good work and cheers from France!

    Great Video! I recently bought Ship of Magic and was so excited to read it. Then I looked up the reading order and most people recommended to read the first Fitz Trilogy beforehand. I didn't really want to do that, because a lot of people online are complaining, saying how annoying Fitz is... Now I know, that it's okay to start with the Liveship Traders and honestly, I'm really intruiged by the rest of the books. Thank you so much, I'll give it a try, soon.

    This is the most incredible intro, I was enticed by Petrik but this was such a nice and just as digestible summary! I’ve started royal assassin after book 1 had me sobbing 😢 so I hope it continues to wreck me as I go on! With cautious optimism I purchased the the live ship trader trilogy so I’m hoping that wreck me too, thank you for the tw warning as well💚 I’ve directed my friend to your dis world video as he’s started the series recently!

    You hooked me with the character descriptions, so I gave book one a try… I’ve now committed 27 hours of my life to finishing book 2 of the Farseer trilogy and I have been left DESTROYED. It was so, so good, and it hurt so, so bad. Emotional damage to the extreme with that ending, oml. You were right with the loathing I feel toward the villain character; words cannot describe my disgust. Now that’s some great character writing^^

    I’m with you in adoring Robin Hobb’s creative genius. I just finished the second trilogy Liveship and can’t wait to now get back to Fitz next. I have been reading out of order but I do take notes at end of each so I don’t forget. Also I do audio along with print as well for full immersion. Hobb works so well for me because I such a character driven reader…same reason I love Charles Dickens soooo much too.

    Would you recommend the physical or audio version of these?

    • @cronkthebookguy
      @cronkthebookguy  Год назад +3

      That's an amazing question! Now I wish I'd mentioned that in the video.
      Personally, I recommend the audio version. Out of the 16 books, I read 5 physical copies and listened to 11 by audio. It's a series that just fits audio really well.
      One little warning, the series changes narrators a LOT! Sometimes even changing narrators within the same trilogy. That means they change what voices they do for different characters. A 'gruff voice' character will suddenly sound more normal. It was a little hard to keep track of.
