Front Brake Pad Rotor Replacement Ford Mustang (2010-2014) ***DIY***

  • Hey Guys,
    Helped a buddy out today on his 2014 Ford Mustang brake job. An independent shop wanted over $600 and we were able to get it done for $140.
    Here is the complete walkthrough on the Front Brake removal and installation with new rotors and pads.
    The Carrier torque value is 76 Ft.-lbs
    The Caliper torque value is 23 Ft.-lbs
    The wheel torque specs are 100 Ft.-lbs

    When you go to compress the caliper down, throw one of the old pads on the pistons and use the c-clamp so it compresses both pistons at the same time.

    For anyone curious, the torque spec for those bolts is 2 Uga Dugas

      Hey Squid Kid, sorry for not posting the torque values for the Carrier and Caliper.
      The Carrier torque value is 76 Ft.-lbs
      The Caliper torque value is 23 Ft.-lbs
      The wheel torque specs are 100 Ft.-lbs

      Hey Ray, thanks for the question. Here is the link for the Milwaukee High Speed ratchet-

      These sell for $199 from Home Depot and various online retailers. If you already have Milwaukee tools and have some M12 batteries you can just purchase the tool only.

      Kobalt has a 24v 3/8" right angle ratchet wrench for $99 and you can use it to twist like you would your ratchets or torque wrench(it does not torque but you can put a bit of tension on it). I've used mine for my Q50 RWD to do my brakes and upgrading my exhaust system as well 🔥👍🏼

      Appreciate the feedback Hank. Like I said in the previous comment, we have been using them for over 20+ years so you get used to the minor hangups with the latex gloves.
      We have recently tried some tight fitting Nitrile coated Lycra gloves that seem to work will when doing heavier/dirtier parts.
      MaxiFlex Ultimate Lycra Glove - a.co/d/fgLPmJY
      But for any fine detail projects where small bolts are involved, we find the latex gloves still work the best.
