I love your reviews, they’re a lot better than other reviews I’ve seen and you take criticism A LOT better than another channel I watch and that means a lot to us viewers especially when you respond to us in a non sarcastic way! I think you should do a tier ranking list of all his novels, non spoiler just a simple S, A, B, C, D. That sure would be a video I would be interested in!
Thank you! A tier ranking is on my list of specials I want to put together, so keep your eyes peeled. And thanks for the comments about the feedback stuff as well...I mean, I *am* sarcastic to some people, but only those who deserve it ;-)
Just finished Geralds Game! Loved it, moved into my Top 5 that's for sure...I think my favorite character was Ruth..or Prince! ❤ Loved seeing his map of Maine. Great review as always Dave!!
Just finished Gerald's Game (reading it, that is, not playing it, lol) and wow!!!! It was so good. One of the darkest and most brutal that i have read in a while. Every time I finish a book, I immediately come here to watch the 19 reasons. Thanks Dave.
Great review on Gerald's Game, I read this book when it came out in 1992, and I thought what a terrifying suspenseful story I was on the edge of my seat. And that horrific scene , when Jessie escape from the handcuffs and the way Stephen King describe it, still linger in my memory after all these years. At the time, I thought they never make this in to a movie because it's basically a one character handcuffed to a bed - impossible, but that Netflix film directed by Mike Flannigan, was great he done such a brilliant job in bringing the story to the screen.
I was so ambivalent when I started this book but it almost immediately hooked me and I think it’s one of his more underrated works for sure. I loved it.
Ooo I loved the Netflix adaptation of this book and have been curious to read it. Maybe, I'll start it tonight. Great review and I'll catch you in the next one.
i loved the netflix movie of this book but i wish i had have waited to read the book first. while i did enjoy this book it was severely hampered by knowing what was gonna happen but thankfully there was enough differences to keep me engaged and interested. that being said i loved cujo which gives me similar vibes so im sure i would've loved it just as much had i waited to watch the movie. loved the video and can't wait for the dolores claiborne video, it was one of my first king books and is in my top 3 fave king books :)
Loved Gerald's Game! The movie was fabulous as well! I thought that the ending had great ideas and that tying up all the loose ends was great, but to be honest, it dragged on for a while. There's like 50 pages after THAT scene happened and it could've been condensed to ten.
Just finished the book, then watched the film straight after. Can safely say the book was way better but WOW! Seeing those scenes on the screen was so disturbing... Regardless, kept me hooked both the book and film.
@@titusmccarthy I disagree slightly on the 'most King fans' line...I think it depends where you look. The majority of King fans I know feel similar to me about Ms Gibney!
Why does he have to have a heart attack to die, couldn't the Kick in the Balls itself not have killed him? I dnf'd this book very early, around 60 pages, I should have kept going. Great 19 Reasons!!!💯
I've got 130 pages to go with Gerald's Game, I don't Hate it, but it should have been a Novella, and I want it to be over. I can see why some SK have it in their bottom 5, and I hope the last 80 pages make it a worth while read.
@@angelaholmes8888 ah, ok - you're more a fan of the epics then. You might also dig Desperation, Under the Dome and, potentially, Cell. Oh, and Black House, which is the sequel to The Talisman 👍
@@DaveReadsKing I also enjoyed under the dome except for the ending and I read black house a few months ago it's one of my favorite books from king but I haven't read desperation yet I will read that one next year

You’re so welcome!
I love how you describe these books, and I love your channel! You are definitely the BEST King reviewer
Thanks Appreciate that a lot!

Agree completely!

Awesome! Glad you enjoyed it!
This video taught me that Prince (the musician that liked purple) was short. I actually never focused on his height before, thanks Dave 👌
Ha! You’re welcome - he was a tiny genius

Awesome, thanks - and enjoy!
Hi Dave! I really enjoy your reviews! By the way, where'd you get that awesome Castle Rock, Maine sweatshirt?
Thank you! The sweater is from www.ka-tet19.net/ - highly recommended!

Awesome, thanks for commenting! I'm a big fan of Dolores - seriously underrated book (and terrific movie too), looking forward to recording that one!
The "It" references too.
For sure!
Honestly couldn’t even finish this book I was so bored
I liked the start then it just started to drag for me
Fair enough - I can see why it might do that

Yeah, I hear you - I think the role the ending plays is really important and does work, but could definitely be trimmed
I love this book so much. If it wasn’t for the ending, it would probably be in my top 10 or even top 5 😁
Nice!
I loved this book so much!!! before I read it i was hearing it was very boring I don’t know what they were reading I’m happy I read it
It’s such a good book! Glad you liked it!

Totally - and the fact that the movie even got made is pretty awesome. It can’t have been easy to adapt but Flanagan did such a good job!
May I suggest Timbuktu by Paul Auster - an entire book told from the point of view of a dog :)
Awesome! Thank you!
i absolutely would love the dog pov novel
I know, right! Enough of the Holly Gibney shit - more dogs please!
@@DaveReadsKing You don't like Holly Gibney? Seems most King fanatics love her and want more. I personally find her annoying.

Read this in a day. Loved it, but THAT escape...yikes.
😬😬😬😬 have you seen the movie? Even more 😬😬😬
@@DaveReadsKing Yes! I loved that movie but I will NEVER watch it again.
