How badass do you have to be for the monsters to have a song about you.
We frighten our kids with boogie man and boogie man frightens his kids with Geralt of Rivia.
He is the boogyman to the nonhumans
@@sandrinio86 HAHAHAHHA LOL
@@SirToaster9330 that's true haha
I once saw him kill three drowners with a pencil, A fucking peencil....
I just love how they potrayed Geralt, not as an unbeatable superhuman but just a Witcher. He didn't exactly win the "fancy" way, but he gets the job done.
How badly he gets his ass beat is one of the coolest things about the character. Think Spike VS Le Fou (was that his name..?) I love seeing the hero get their ass handed to them, Spike gets lit up like a Christmas tree in that episode... it’s better that way, I mean how many issues Wolverine had him an inch from death on the cover? Skewered on swords or bleeding out etc. it’s make for a more interesting character...
“This world doesn't need heroes, it needs professionals.”
This is one of the reason this is one of the best game ever made, with a proper difficulty you have to balance your gear, potions, bombs, etc. all just to not die again and again, while still allowing mistakes just enough so you don't get overwhelmed and easier tasks that allow gear improvement. This adds depth to game-play and together with a world that has side-quests richer than some other entire AAA games it makes it the best narrative-driven game ever made IMHO
It isn't like he is fighting any ordinary monster.
Mid to high vampires rank the highest among all the post conjunction monsters.
They have the ability to think and apply logic not to forget they are incredibly strong, agile and some can even turn invisible like bruxe while others can turn into fog like higher vampires.
It has even been stated that rarely ever a witcher takes up a contract for higher vampires.
@@necrisro What are you talking about? They talk about the cinematic and how Geralt was not the unbeatable superhuman HE IS in the game. In the game he has feats that are (imo) outright impossible. Dettlaff would wreck him imo with Geralt realizing that he lost only after he would be left nearly dead on the ground and Dettlaff drinking him.
Also, combat in this game is downright pathetic. You dont need oils, bombs or anything like that - its only a luxury. (I walked around with 0% sword and no oil etc. and was handling it just fine. After one round of death march I do all "Just Story!" because the combat just straight up ***** and I wanna get it out of the way asap.)
In the game I probably could take on the entire Toussaint full of knights and come out victorious murdering Anna Henrietta with a quote "You said to bring you the beast, here it is, me." - game Geralt should be much weaker imo.
In reality that crossbow does 3 damage, tops.
Underwater that thing is OP!
Just crafted the explosive bolts not bad at alll
This is after blood and wine, so Geralt has the extra mutations unlocked. He could have the Cat Eyes mutation to massively increase crossbow damage + the combat tree's marksmanship abilities for the crossbow to get massive crit chance, slow aiming, and disable monster abilities. So while unlikely, it could happen.

That good eh?
Almost all the famous paintings are overrated. Giant cathedrals, sculptures, etc. take months, years, 10+ years to make. Those paintings are done in a day. It's not even fair to view them in the same light.

This Is actually an epilogue,in a way- to when Geralt says to orianna “I’ll come back for you one day you know that right” and orianna says “I’ll be waiting for you” from the blood simple quest in the blood and wine, and it actually all sums up cuz you hear orianna singing the, a night to remember song in the quest, and Geralt says “interesting tune” during the quest and when she’s singing it in this cinematic when Geralt approaches he says “been awhile sense I heard that song” or sum like that just kinda interesting how that’s all related if you put it together

Don't worry. It's normal and you'll get many good cards during the adventure. Just keep practicing and you'll dominate it very soon! An advice: don't be afraid of loosing a round on purpose to keep some cards for the next one, specially if your opponent hasn't too many cards.
I'd like to explain you how it works but I get really confused because of my English.
Oh, also remember that there are some gwent missions in the game that are easy to miss and you'll be able to play gwent against main characters only at some certain moments in their story. If you win the match, you'll get their rare cards.

It's an absolutely incredible trailer. You feel sympathy for both characters. The Witcher, hated by society. The vampire, shedding a tear as she's cut to pieces. Both monsters, both despised, but one mercilessly cutting down the other for a few more days of food and shelter. It's a brilliant setting, and CDPR did it incredible justice.

Don't know why witchers are hated considering they're the only ones that are experienced enough to get rid of the monsters who don't want to co-exist with humans. It's like Skyrim... not everyone likes the Dovahkiin, even though they slay monsters, beasts, and Dragons for the selfish whoresons lol.

Only thing I know is, when you're done talking with Dettlaff, Regis, Orianna and Anna at the art party you walk away with Regis. Geralt asks Regis if he can trust Orianna. Regis keeps his awnser vague and says to Geralt 'You know she's also a....' Geralt interupts him and says 'I figured' . @Sadik Bin Salauddin You can actually do a very nice path to understand the trailer, head to Orianna's while in the Night of Long Fangs, help her solve her situation (I won't spoil shit for anyone), and when it is all done tell Regis that you'd rather go find Syanna (in this moment you can board a boat and head to you know where). It's really cool that Henry Cavill is a big PC gamer. He played through the Witcher 3 twice and well before the Netflix series was announced. When the series was eventually announced, he wanted the part badly and asked his agent to contact the director for an audition (this was before they even had chosen other actors for a potential casting call). Needless to say Henry impressed them with his Geralt character portrayal and got the part. 😎

11/10 for story telling, graphics, awesome scenes, compelling characters

And the movement is clunky as hell
Luckily it’s a great piece of work due to the rich lore and cool monsters and all else I mentioned

@@JCTiggs1 True, but steam reviews are fickle like that, they hate on things that don't deserve it, and overly hype things that don't deserve it. @@sbraypaynt Honestly the combat is not bad at all, a bit repetitive but substantial enough to make you forget about it. The movement on the other hand may be clunky but you can easily get the hang of it within 2-3 hours in the game. The only horseshit in this game is the fall damage.

This is why I like the Witcher mythos. You see, Witchers are definitely much stronger than average humans, there is no doubt about that. However against monsters, not so much. Sure their increased physical abilities and keen senses help a lot, but what really matters is their knowledge and tactics.
Take this fight for example.
Geralt has no delusions about this fight. He knows it's not gonna go peachy. He is not cocky cause he know he can't win in a 1v1 situation against that thing. He knows he is gonna get bitten at some point, so what does he do? He literally poisons his own blood to hurt the Vampire. And that is where the Witcher vitality and mutations come handy. A normal human would have died the second he swallowed that potion. But as we see here, Geralt's Witcher powers were just no enough by themselves. If he didn't have the necessary knowledge to make the potion, or to know it would hurt the vampire, he would have died without hurting it at all. If he was cocky about his powers and not use it, he would have died without hurting it again.
Great franchise honestly.
This is the exact point why I dislike superheroes. They generally are just op, no clear challenges that would make much sense (obviously some bad guys win them, but then in the rematch die because of stupidity).
Well Geralt has dismantled A bruxa with quite ease before, i think the reason he takes hits is both to show how smart he is, by tricking the Bruxa, but also simply to show how very, very poisonoues some witcher Potions are- If you'd put Geralt and this bruxa up stats wise.. The bruxa would've been 0- I gonna get rekted. Geralt 10000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000- Gonna fuck yo face up. Lets also appreciate the fact that He beats a Higher Vampire in one on one combat...
I'd still take Geralt over batman any day.

Batman wins through Plot Armor. The writers just like him. He is shit.
***** yea thats probably right
This cinematic has more value and excellency than the 2 netflix seasons combined
Agreed
come on they are not that bad
I actually like the Witcher on Netflix...
What makes you say this? Netflix did a pretty good job. I think you say this just because "Netflix bad". Games and books are 10/10 but that doesn't make the series bad. There is no shame in being 9/10 or even 8/10, like the serie is.
so true
"I'll come back for you one day. You realize that, right"
“Then I shall keep an eye out for you”
@Delfin Reyes depending on where you live like me you can get it like all other games for free ;)
@Delfin Reyes they've confirmed there won't be a Witcher 4. There will be another game in the universe, but as Witcher 3 blatantly stated for you once you beat it, "Geralt's story has come to an end."
Bob Pickleson I find it a bit weird how much I see people expecting you to play as Geralt in "witcher 4" because of how clearly blood and wine implicated that this is the end for Geralt's story. They gave a satisfying ending to his story.
I mean I don't blame them but it's propably mostly wishful thinking on their part in the end.

Orianna: In times past no amount of coin could convince a Witcher to take this contract
Geralt in Blood and Wine: *She made it personal*
Watching this after knowing who Orianna is, is a whole other experience... thank u cdpr
I saw this went it came out I was lost without cloe now I finished the game and knoe who the woman is 🔥 this video is even better after geralt told her that he was coming later for her
I like to think that this is Geralt's last contract before settling down for good, feeling off about their last encounter and only accepted it because he had a hunch it was her.
Wasn't it confirmed to be a epilogue
Isn't this Orianna from B&W? He had already suspected she was a vampire, but he never went after her.
@@brahmantyoihsan5938 He had a hunch, but Regis confirmed it for him, long story short in one of the quests she did some really fucked up shit and Geralt never got the chance to kill her, there's no contract in game and no way to actually kill her unless you use a mod for it, which is a shame really but at least this cinematic exists

We need an animated series exactly like this trailer. These few minutes are better than anything Netflix produced in 3 seasons.
Its not the game of the year, decade or century. This is the game of our life time. This is art my friends.
Jamison Moeckel Overrated
No. He's right.
Jamison Moeckel well doubt an average "lifetime" is a century so game of the century is more impressive then a lifetime tbh but yh this is by far one of the if not the greatest game ever made

It's been a while, but I love the fact that the trailer shows that Geralt is not neccesarily an unbeatable swordmaster and is unmatched in close combat, but he gets the job done with foresight, preparation and thinking one step ahead.
He is this amazing swordmaster and all, its just that this is a very powerful supernatural vampire...
Ingrett I think he actually acted weaker so the Bruxa would drink the black blood
@@theArab__ No, he did not act weaker, bruxa really did overpower him. He is but a witcher, mind you, higher vampires are definitely more powerful at face value.
@@sebastjankrek1744 there is no proof that he didn't act weak, it would actually be more logical to say that he did, this is because he is strong enough to defeat not only eredin but also a "true" higher vampire.

Well there were katakans in the base game, they are considered vampires. But they are nowhere near as strong and annoying as alps or bruxae from Blood and Wine.
How is it that I've been playing Witcher 3 for so long and I've only just discovered this incredible cinematic?? lol
im currently at 90 hours gameplay and just saw this today, shame this is the last game (featuring Geralt at least)
Adam Bolton in the original books, that game IS based on, are many fights and stories like this.
Samuel Šplichal I keep meaning to read them. Never find the time. :(
If you have Audible, you can get the audiobooks - they're amazingly read! :)
Ségolène Scheuer you look awsm
9 years later and i'm still coming back to watch this, lol.
This game ruined it for me - how am I even supposed to look other games in the eye, while Witcher 3 placed the bar this high?
Xiyu Yang Still got Cyberpunk 2077 soon
lI_Toasty_Il yea but how long will that take
Xiyu Yang play god of war
Shea McManus its not even close
Movie Night are you honestly serious? To see its not even close is a total lie, to a bias person i wouldn’t mind if they liked the witcher better but god of war has completely changed and revamped the story of kratos, revamped playstation exclusives and changed how every AAA games company will now think. It has been my favourite game ever with the witcher as a second.
Four years later and this is still one of the best trailers I have seen ever.
So fucking cool to watch this again after beating Blood and Wine. You realize the trailer is set in Toussiant, the vampire is Oriana, and this is set after the events of Blood and Wine because you know what Oriana has been doing. So they had legit planned Blood and Wine way back before the game launched, good on you CDPR.
Dragos I don't think CDPR had fully decided what Oriana would be at this point. That's why she acts like a higher vampire but then shifts into a bruxa form. It's still impressive they had planned for her this far back.
the bruxa you fought at the corvo bianco cellar also could converse pretty normally.
Silvers Yeah, but B&W made it pretty clear by Oriana's relation to the Elder that she was in the Higher Vamp category.
Thing is that this trailer isn't set in Toussaint, but in the peripheries of Novigrad. You can also see snow on the ground. There's no real winter season in Toussaint.
+Piotr B I only saw the picture with the woman in dress ... weird magic
I love how, in the end, you almost feel sorry for her. You know she's a merciless, evil monster and her transformation in bruxa shows it clearly. But then she gets mortally wounded and lays on the ground and all you see is a beautiful girl, no older than twenty something, with a scared, confused look on her face, as the light rapidly abandons her green eyes...this trailer is a masterpiece
Oriana is a vampire who is way older than 20. Dont be deceived plus it’s a game.

Every thing about this cinematic is just amazing, I've watched it soooo many times.
Can we just take a moment to talk about how fucking amazing of a protagonist Geralt is? He is easily one of the best in videogame history, especially with how the dialogue options work: offering different versions of the same character, depending on your own preference. Even though there's so many dialogue options, no way you take betray his character. That is flawless writing right there.
Really? Geralt is one of the main reasons I dislike the game as I think he such a shitty bland block of wood protagonist. Though in the books I liked him more, Ciri's the worst thing about the books.
@Casey Wollberg Lol, the majority of the women in this game are either prostitutes or literal house wives that are their husband's property just like back in the medieval times, the women you're talking about are most probably the sorceresses which are widely known to be arrogant, manipulative and with ulterior, selfish motives, nothing surprising there.
Mikelo VGS Yeah, all of them are wannabe Morganas. I feel that’s an apt description for them.
Weird little Easter Egg in the blood and wine DLC, if you kill a bruxae or an alp during the Night of Long Fangs quest, it dies in exactly the same way as Orianna in the video, crawling away, crying out and finally dying on their front with one leg cocked
Doesn't have to be this quest. I noticed plenty of them doing it throughout the DLC. But yeah, they do crawl away like this.

I just noticed this is Orianna from Blood and Wine, Geralt did say he would come back for her because she was a Bruxa. So they were hinting Blood and Wine for a year and i noticed this now..
