No level can be as evil as you deserve for what you’ve inflicted. Even the RNG Carlsino isn’t enough punishment for Carl is a Piece of or Please just do better
Geek's Carlsino is worse than all of Carl's evil levels combined, because you can easily get fucked in the end if you hit the hidden block.
Let's not forget Year of the Guts. Carl's Hardlock Café was pure evil.

I really hoped that Carl would "realize" that the last red coin was the real first one, since it was placed so you could ride back to the start of the level from CP2 to get the rest.

I love how Dan punctuated all of his Nos.
I genuinely thought that was all leading up to the greatest key death of all time. That's why I thought he put the direct routes back (he would start at the checkpoint without any coins from the beginning). So while it's not required for the player to beat it all in one go, the last red coin troll(s) would key death the player and then, regardless of what checkpoint they had, they'd be forced back to the beginning. Basically key death = cp0. Brilliant.

I think my favorite trolls are those that punish the player for always holding Jump or Run.

This is what happens when you don't release an evil level in more than a year.
People goes like "Fine, I'll do it myself" and this happens.
Carl threading the needle between the ground and the spike in that doom shaft is revenge for when Dan threaded the needle through the spring/bumper maze in Carl's evil hardlock level.

You restarted after the second checkpoint after having just gotten the coin lol, I thought surely you would have realized you could just go back but carl blind
From my point of view, there was a secret room not showed in the video. I mean, you could do part of the puzzle, get the key and go back to the start. Do the strat at the "UN" and fall near the flag without hitting it. So the key-door is acessible.

Its not a dev exit if its the only exist. That just makes it the REAL exit. :P
The TempestFunk element feels wonderfully targeted to the intended player. Like the end of Loss Vegas, Norvada, or the first screen in the first level of Federico’s Trollogy, or that time Juz remade Please Just Do Better in SMW. I love the personal, thoughtful touches.
The UN hint might’ve been improved if half of the L was visible, so you were primed to read it as the beginning of a word. Or maybe if the original “UNLESS” had some more visually distinctive elements like, I dunno, the points on top of the letters being topped by coins. Or the U being filled with coins, or the whole word having a background of empty P-blocks or switch blocks. Or maybe just a dotted empty-P-block underline? Or a dotted empty-block outline, positioned to not conflict with the Kaizo blocks? Then you wouldn’t even need the half an L in the hint; the ⊏-shaped outline would call back to the original decoration AND emphasize it being the first part of a word.

carl ignored the fact you could bring the key to the end, meaning something was in that key door that he never checked. and i didnt see another, soo...
As for fixing the UN hint, i would say place it directly above the "unless?" in question, while clearly marked as a hint.

@@CarlSagan42 eh, considering the way the level is laid out, it could have been worse. After all that effort, the following lap would be quick and painless compared to, say, sticking you in an anti or softlock.
