And if you think you've experienced pain in Mario Party, remember that Emirichu got really close (like 130+ coins) during Alpharad's tournament and then took a Bowser Revolution at the last second.

there are 5 possibilities:
1) 1st player explodes. Since there's one bad lever out of five, this happens 1/5 of the time
2) 2nd player explodes. For that to happen, 1st player must survive, in other words, press one of the four good levers. That happens 4/5 of the time. Now there are four levers remaining and one of them is bad. 2nd player explodes by pressing that, which happens 1/4 of the time. These latter event (2nd player explodes) depends on the former (1st player survives), therefore probabilities are multiplied. 4/5 * 1/4 = 1/5
3) 3rd player explodes. By the similar logic you can conclude, that the odds of that happening are 4/5 * 3/4 * 1/3 = 1/5 (1st and 2nd players survive, while 3rd player explodes)
4) 4th player explodes. You can already guess what's it's gonna be: 4/5 * 3/4 * 2/3 * 1/2 = 1/5, not even going to explain it anymore
5) No one explodes. Similar to the last case, the probability of that happening is 4/5 * 3/4 * 2/3 * 1/2 = 1/5
The same logic applies to lower number of players and levers as well. And that's how the players have the equal odds of exploding. Hope that helps and feel free to :nerd_face: me
To give a TL;DR -
The later players do get a higher chance to lose when they _do_ come up, but that can only happen if all the other players before them survive, and when taking the chance of that into account every place comes out to a 1/5 chance of losing.

So, this game has a really funny interaction when it comes to King Boo, if you have 150 coins, but nobody has any stars, the game crashes directly on the spot, it happened to me and a group of people on the server of the party crashers

For those actually curious on the "Bowser big blast" luck and how it's an even chance here it is
Player 1 has a 1/5 chance (20%) of getting blown up
Player 2 had a 4/5 chance of player 1 not blowing up and then a 1/4 chance for blowing up yourself (4/5 * 1/4 = 20%)
Player 3 has 4/5 and 3/4 chance of previous players not blowing up and 1/3 for blowing up yourself (4/5 * 3/4 * 1/3 = 20%)
Player 4 has 4/5, 3/4 and 2/3 chance of previous players not blowing up and 1/2 for blowing up yourself (4/5 * 3/4 * 2/3 * 1/2 = 20%)
These all makes it so that it's even odds for every player to either get blown up or survive, the design problem is however that it never feels that way

I've got a crazy mod idea. You know how pyra and mythra can swap between each other? Well, what if you can choose one character and swap between ANY other character. Say Young Link switches to Adult Link. Or Mario to Luigi, or a wild one like Sonic switch to Ganondorf. You can switch by pressing both L and R.
Man I remember once on party party 2 I got to take a star from every player at once and their reactions were priceless

Player 1 has a 1/5 of dying
Player 2 has a 1/4 chance of dying but only a 4/5 chance of having to pick a colour. 1/4 * 4/5 =4/20=1/5

4:10 It's true, everybody will always have the same chance of losing in a given round. Here is the math of it:
4 players:
First player has 5 buttons to press so 1/5
The second one will have a 1/4 IF the first one doesn't lose, so for them to lose, they have to get a 1 in 4 chance AND the first player get a 4 in 5, so actually 4/5 × 1/4 = 1/5
The third 1/3, so 4/5 × 3/4 × 1/3 = 1/5
The forth 4/5 × 3/4 × 2/3 × 1/2 = 1/5
This pattern repeats all over:
3 players:
First 1/4
Second 3/4 × 1/3 = 1/4
Third 3/4 × 2/3 × 1/2 = 1/4
2 players:
First 1/3
