Anyone who wants to can see them on TV or other media. You missed my point about that.
This post is about space vehicles and research. Many of the moon rocks were shared with researchers around the world for example. Everyone has our moon maps, including the far side ones taken on Apollo missions. The surface of Earth's Moon has about the same land mass as Asia. The notion of one nation, or even a coalition of nations, somehow militarily conquering and occupying the Moon is a bit silly. That's not the big concern. Major fields of exploration and advancement, such as space exploration, spacecraft design, regolith analysis, nuclear fusion development, etc., will no doubt lead to major advances in STEMMM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mechanics, Mathematics, Manufacturing). The nations that lead in exploration and advancement will surely have a major impact on the agenda that will affect (directly or indirectly) multiple aspects of, if not all aspects of, STEMMM. Like it or not, America, Canada, European countries, Japan and others have no choice but to compete with China, Russia, North Korea, etc. Either our coalition makes advances that impact on the STEMMM agenda or they do. THAT is the new space race! That is why we need to pursue the new generation of re-usable rockets, new commercial space stations, nuclear fusion, and a sustainable lunar operation.

Two options are heavy, single use ablative heat shield for the lunar SS (unlike that Orion has, but _much_ bigger and heavier), or even more elaborate refueling, this time _during_ the return, ir order to perform a _very_ glorified re-entry braking burn. I am not sure is either of those feasible; both options are certainly very difficult.

@@ppazpppaz8618 Actually we did that then, and continue to do that today, we gave many millions of dollars contacts to many corporations, some who were worth billions, at the time, who built the equipment that went into the Apollo program. That's how it works in the USA. The IRS confiscates your money as taxes, gives it to congress, and congress gives some of it to NASA and other agencies to contract with private industry in the USA. The vast amount of industrial know how and capacity does not exist in the gov't, but it is available to the gov't, in our many and various companies, for a price. Musk is no different than say the Grumman Aircraft Corporation was, who built the LEMs that went to the moon and landed several times, or the other contractors who built the Saturn V rockets and the Command modules.
