Can we talk about the fact that Sirius straight up punches Lucious rather than using magic? One of my favorite Sirius moments, and it wasn't even in the books!

daniel radcliffe acted the shit out of this film. I felt his pain, his loneliness, his sorrow, his anger. the order of the phoenix and his acting in general felt like it was coming from a place in his heart. i’m proud of him.
I believe the actual quotes are Bellatrix Lestrange: "Neville Longbottom, is it? How's mum and dad?" Neville Longbottom: "Better now that they're about to be avenged."
This scene where Voldemort possess Harry is my absolute favorite scene throughout the whole series. He finally begins to realize the love he still has, versus the love he's lost. You can tell it Voldemort was threatened by the fact that he couldn't make him feel isolated and alone anymore.
@@talyorgreen9342 - do you remember where you heard that? Because I've been trying to find out if this "fun fact" is true for years, since a lot of people love to quote it, make photo-montages with it, and the only source available is a very old anonymous IMDB post. I've looked for that scene unmuted, or quotes from other actors, but I've never been able to find anything that coroborated that post. On the contrary, in a commentary David Yates stated that the 2 reasons why Harry's scream was muted was: 1)to pay homage to Al Pacino's character's famous cry in "The Godfather" Part 3, which is one of Mr Yate's favorites. 2) he wanted the viewers to really feel the gravity of what has just happened. He wanted viewers to take a moment to stop and realize that Sirius is gone, and what it means for Harry. Anyway, both times he talked about this scene, he didn't say anything about Daniel's scream making other actors cry (?) being the reason for the mute button... you'd think it would be something that he would mention. I'm starting to wonder if this is one of these anecdotes that sound so cool, people don't care anymore if they're true or not ^^' *Rant Over*
This is also my favourite film of the series. I fell in love with Luna, her voice is so gentle and she's got such a positive character overall. I was so happy she was in the later films as well.
Two of my favourite scenes is when Harry meets and hugs Sirius and when he speaks to him about him becoming like Voldemort. What makes these scenes great is that these moments aren’t even in the book. It’s actually brilliant that all the best moments and lines don’t come from the book. Luna said what this film is about so perfectly: “If it’s just you alone, your not much of a threat” I think that’s one of the most important lines and most real lines I’ve ever head not just for the series but for life itself. It tells the audience that Voldemort wasn’t just a factor in Harry being alone, him being alone wasn’t his plan, it just made it easier for him to manipulate his mind and exploit his fears and anxieties. It isn’t until too late that Voldemort realises that Harry couldn’t be more different from him. Harry fights for the things he loves and Voldemort only fights for himself and for more power.
I just wish the movie showed Harry mourning Sirius’ death more. They had a deleted scene that showed this, but sadly, they cut it even though the movie is the shortest of the franchise.
i watched these all several times as a kid, but when going back to this film and noticing harry attempt to use the cruciatus curse on bellatrix is something i never noticed and was done so well in the film. it really shows how dark harry is becoming and how angry he is. in reality he doesnt have the strength to use it, but the fact that he attempts is insane
And the fact that he casts the Imperius and Cruciatus curse successfully in the Deathly Hallows book is even more insane. I mean, I genuinely expected him to cast the Killing Curse and come full circle but I think that in the final showdown, when Voldy dies because the Killing Curse rebounded makes it come full circle because Harry's spell deflects it to go the other way round (though it's not supposed to do that).
@@niharikadatta6442 it's not? I thought when you duel, if you're defeated via Priori incantatum you get the brunt/affect of both spells. It's called the Reverse spell effect so I'd assume that's what would happen.
Also, to the main comment, I absolutely think that's insane that he could perform both spells. I can't specifically remember the cruciatus curse, but in Order of the Phoenix that fact that he tried the curse to cause so much pain to the person who killed his godfather is crazy. Yet still, I understand why he did it. He goes through 3 stages of greuf within a minute and when he reaches Anger, he unleashes his biult up rage he's been carrying all year, executed in one of the most extreme ways possible.
@@eimanb3887 Voldy’s curse rebound because the Elder Wand cannot harm its true master; Priori Incantatum refers to the effect of the wand regurgitating its prior spells.
@@niharikadatta6442 What's insane is that when he uses the Cruciatus curse in Order of the Phoenix Bellatrix points out that it didn't do her much because the caster needs to truly want to cause pain on another person. Which means that between that and Deathly Hallows Harry actually spent time practicing and mastering the Cruciatus curse.
18:01 Adding to this scene, Voldemort does a kind of neck crick before he looks at Harry. Later on in the film, Harry does a similar neck crick when in his dormatory. He also does it after touching the Gaunt ring in Half-blood Prince. It's a kind of visual cue of the connection between Harry and Voldemort.
@Kenjamin oh, thank you for telling me. I didn’t know that he did it in that scene. my comment was trying to bring light to the fact that he doesn’t CONSTANTLY do it, it’s more to signify his connection with Voldemort.
@@ailsa7471 Look at it this way, you could skip all of the Goblet of fire (the movie tho) except for the graveyard scene, and there would be no holes in the narrative. The whole film is watered down tournaments, which should be the setting of the story, not the story itself. The whole Barty Crouch Jr. storyline which impacts the pointe of the film gets merely glanced at. The goblet of fire is an abomination of a film.
First of all. He is planning on doing a video essay on every film in the franchise including the fantastic beasts movies. Also last time I checked, Chamber of Secrets was everyone's least favorite film ( it's my favorite)
Fashionable Changeling that’s awesome he’s doing that and I was just saying that most Harry Potter fans I talk to half blood prince is their least favorite but that’s not for everyone it’s just opinions
I know this story is often hated as a book…even by the author…but this story is an excellent character study into ptsd. When you consider that Harry’s first true experience with death that he can remember is the death of Cedric…it changes the entire context of this story. This story is about Harry truly accepting that he is the chosen one and because of that, his loved ones are in danger. The scene where he screams at Dumbledore is easily my favorite in the entire story of showing his evolution as a character…the scene shows him blaming everyone around him for what happened as he accepts that he has no control…only to partially realize, even if he refuses to admit it…that everything is Dumbledore’s fault, that Dumbledore was farming him from the very beginning for a fate he didn’t ask for
it is actually my fav book in the series you know? fred, george and peeves. the escape from hogwarts. the order getting back together. harry's loneliness and his yearning for a family but then the comfort he feels when working with members of the order until sirius' death. his time with sirius too. this book was my absolute fav. it's sad its so underappreciated. :(
@@ishita8486 it's always been my favorite too. I feel like a lot of people adore this book, and a lot don't like it. There doesn't seem to be a in between with this one.
It's my second favourite after POA eventhough Sirius dies. It makes me much more emotionally involved then any of the other books maybe because I have dealed with some of the struggles my self around the same age as Harry. The whole department of mysteries is so facinating to me. I like Luna and Nevills development. Also the backstroy with Snape and James because we see both of them in a different light. I also like the way the story is build up and told especially the first couple of chapters. -The movie is among my favourites too.
Gaunted Plays weakened by the fact they left out Fawkes... I mean, the whole movie and Order that fights Voldemort is named after him... stupidity that drives me crazy
They missed out a bit from the battle where Voldemort conjured a silver shield to deflect a spell from Dumbledore. Can’t wait for his duel with grindlewald in fantastic beasts though
I just finished watching all 8 films for the first time in my life. I never watched Harry Potter in all 20 years I’ve been on this planet. Now that I watched them all, I feel like I missed out. Granted I was a couple months old when the first movie came out. It’s amazing, I wish I can rewatch all 8 films with no prior knowledge.
The relationships Harry forms with Neville and Luna are very underrated in this movie. When Harry says that he and Neville will make their parents proud makes you remember that Neville lost his parents as well, and it makes his character in the eighth film even better. Luna helps Harry through his isolation this film because she can see the thestrals and hear the voices in the veil. She helps him stay sane when he feels like everything around him is crumbling.
You are SO RIGHT about everything, in this and your other video essays! I'm a much older HP fan--not that that matters---but you are bringing back to life the magic we felt as first the books, and then the movies, were first released! There is only one thing about the OOP book that isn't (and almost certainly could not be) converted to film; yet to me it's the most powerful and heartbreaking line in the entire story: " If death is nothing, Dumbledore, kill the boy..." "Let the pain stop," thought Harry. "Let him kill us... End it, Dumbledore... Death is nothing compared to this.. . . . And I'll see Sirius again." It is Harry's horror and grief at Sirius's death that drives Voldemort out of his mind forever, not seeing his friends. That's a Hollywood touch. Harry's dying thought, in the midst of his sorrow, is that he has the chance to meet Sirius in the afterlife..it is what saves him.
Another scene I find absolutely hilarious is the occlumency scene when Harry hugs Sirius and Snape is in the background and then he says; I may vomit. That scene always makes me laugh. It’s honestly one of my favourite Snape scenes and that line gets me every time.
The line where Sirius is talking to Harry and he says "Its been 14 years. And still a day doesn't go by where I don't miss your dad" with that flute playing hits me in the feels hard.
They all got haircut cuz in Goblet they were given long hair for a reason, since most actors were well above the age they were supposed to portraying, so the long hair was there to make them look younger.
I'll always admire Daniel's acting in Order of the Phoenix. He portrayed the isolated, angry and misunderstood protagonist that Harry became in book 5 so well. It says a lot, because personally I didn't like Harry's character in book 5 (far too whiny , having a go at Ron and Hermione for no fault of theirs), despite the ordeals and circumstances that make him like that. However it's Daniel's acting that made it so much more bearable
I wish they kept quidditch in, it would’ve given more screen time for Draco and the rest of the slytherins, also it gave us more of an introduction to Umbridge.
Xnet Cascade Well in the book Harry got banned from playing Quidditch so there wasn’t too much of it in the book, personally I think it was a good decision to cut it.
In terms of the filmmaking I’d still say POA is the best FILM. Has a world class director attached to it, really vibrant cinematography and editing, well paced, good acting, for me it has by FAR the best presentation of magic in the entire series (I like how natural it feels within the universe, as opposed to everyone being “wowed” all the time). People get too hung up on which book is the best when talking about the films. POA isn’t my favourite book but it is the best film imo.
I more or less agree. It is my favourite, I also like the fifth and the last one quite much. (Although, from time to time, I enjoy watching every film of the HP series - I by no means hate any of them.) // Without necessarily spoiling anything - the filmmakers explained who set the dementors after Harry, in a deleted scene, didn't they? (It is definitely explained in the book, if my memory serves.)
I honestly always got the feeling that they essentially forgot about Bonnie Wright (Ginny) after her she stopped being a comedic, endearing component that was crushing on the idea of Harry. We never see 10% of the silly, adorable things she did, like making the Valentine's Day card that sang shrilly to Harry, or all of the times she would totally clam up in Harry's presence. And then they completely disregard the arc she had gone through when Harry wasn't really paying attention to her, namely 3rd and 4th book where Ginny is (in the books) always going off to hang out with her own friends, dating whomever she wants and dumping them when they don't meet her standards. Anyway, Bonnie Wright obviously had the potential to be Ginny, but it seemed she was being directed to act a hundred different ways. And in the end, it felt like they directed her to basically be a replacement for Harry's mom. Which is even more stupid than having the whole almost-kiss scene with Harry and Hermione in Deathly Hallows Part 1. Great video btw! You're great at breaking everything down and using the facts to back up any opinuons you state.
i never knew you'd make me love this film even more ps. luna introducing thestrals to harry is one of my favourite changes from the books and one of the best scenes in the series. the dialogue is just beautiful
Slothboiclique POA was my favourite book so I'm glad that it go a good movie to it. When I was first reading OOTP, I did like it but not as much ad the first 3. The film was an amazing adaptation.
They removed the bogort sence with molly -_- that made me sad that was such a powerful moment in the book Edit: so I didn't know this got so much attention I never got any of the notifications thanks lol
I get goosebumps every single time Harry screams LOOK AT ME to Dumbledore... I think it's the sweating, the panting, the Voldemort head twitch, the music building then cutting all accumulating with Daniel's excellent outburst. You can hear the desperation mixed with the anger in his scream. I know it's only like 2 seconds but I adore this moment. The dark side of Harry is really coming through in that split second before he returns to his normal self begging for answers with "What's happening to me...?" I fucking love it.
The scene at St Mungo's is the worst cut. Even a brief glimpse of Neville!, his mother, and grandmother would have added so much? The loss of that scene is the biggest flaw in this film. The Dumbledore/Voldemort duel is the best n the entire series, so much better than the Harry/Voldemort duel in Deathly Hallows 2.
@@Curtiz2008 That was because they used green screen of the COS movie, whereas they would have to make an entirely new set, whether practical or digital
I mean, it would have been cool to see, but it wasn’t completely necessary when the moment of Harry and Neville bonding after Bellatrix's escape achieves the same thing.
*And you can tell, that Gary and daniel have fun together! I love how it's hard to do films, but the actors and actresses have fun* *Together! I honestly love harry potter. All my 4th fav characters are adults!~ 1. Sirius 2. Snape 3. Remus 4. Nythmidora.*
Now I totally think that Goldenberg should totally have wrote the screenplay for every movie, imagine Ron and Ginny’s personality actually being true to the book, the only movie where Kloves didn’t mess up Ron (which could be fixed pretty easily fixed) was Philosopher’s/ Sorcerer’s Stone. This movie was great!
Acting opposite Gary Oldman really brought up Radcliff's acting chops. I know he picked his brain, as there is a behind the scenes clip of him asking Oldman about his many acting jobs.
Order of the phoenix is my favorite book so I was very disappointed when I watched the movie because they cut out a lots of important parts, like the scene in Dumbledore's office right after Sirius 'death when Harry destroys everything, I love this part in the book because it really shows how Harry was feeling and his way of dealing with Sirius' death, he was really angry and sad about losing one more person that he loved and cared about him, in the movie it doesn't even look like Harry was grieving at all. Another thing that they cut from the movie and was mentioned as "not important" is Quidditch, in the book Harry and Fred (or George, I don't remember) literally kicked Draco's ass after the match so Umbridge confiscates his firebolt and he ends up being kicked out of the team, so Ginny replaces Harry as a seeker, giving her character more visibility. Can you imagine how amazing will be seeing Harry punching Draco’s face? And there are many other incredible scenes like that, but they were not included in the movie, unfortunately.
Yeah I feel like if there was an extended edition to each Harry Potter movie, these scenes should be included in the Order of the Phoenix extended edition. While I love the book too, I think the movie is really good with the scenes it does have
completely agree!!! I also reckon the significance of harry Fred and George being banned from quidditch also does so much for showing just how evil Umbridge is, which the film already did a great job of, but a lot of it was just random petty stuff (like fixing uniforms and stopping couples from kissing), keeping that scene would've really elevated her evilness
i agree, mainly with harry’s grieving and the scene in dumbledore’s office after sirius’ death. the books really showed how sirius’ death greatly affected harry, and i feel like the movie didn’t showcase that to its full extent
Actually this movie has always been my least favorite movie in the series after The Chamber of Secrets. But after watching this great essay, you changed my entire view on it. I really see it in a different way now. Keep up the great work!
I also loved how the movie does a really great job at bridging the generational gap btwn DA & Order of the Phoenix. Seeing the mirror of older & younger characters preparing for the war to come was awesome, wished the other films did that more.
I don’t. It was all so confusing and time-wasting. If they had this in the movies it would’ve take up time with just pointless stuff that never gets mentioned ever again in the movies.
I love the comedy in this movie. The scene where the trio is laughing together is honestly one of my favourites. It makes you feel like you’re there and laughing along with them. It’s a very heart warming scene, and it always puts a smile on my face
18:12 I don't think this was a part of their connection, but rather Harry just struggling with PTSD. Which makes the movie even greater because we can see how much Harry was affected by Cedrick's death.
4:41: Daniel Radcliffe is a good actor, and by the 5th movie he was really starting to shine! That being said, the scene was still utterly stolen by Gary Oldman, the way that his voice shivers as he tells Harry he's a good person is just amazing. The selection of actors, from kids, who resembled their counterparts, to adult actors like Maggie Smith, Gary Oldmann, Alan Rickman, and Jason Isaacs was fantastic!
Gotta say, Order of the Phoenix is my 2nd favourite film after Prisoner of Aksaban. This film should be studied in film schools and media classes as it is a masterclass in how to perfectly and correctly adapt a book onto the big screen but also (screen)writing as well. Both of the films I have mentioned as my favourites also have cool names for a movie as well which is why I love them but also how they are structured. I could easily watch or rewatch those 2 again without context. Prisoner of Askaban is also a masterclass, same with many magnificent movies, on filmmaking especially from directing, writing, editing and cinematography.
Just personal opinion but I like Prisoner of Azkaban as my favorite. I just can't stand Order of the Phoenix because of Umbridge. I hate that woman with a passion. Umbridge is worse than Voldemort in my opinion.
I underestimated how good this film is. It was always lower on my list of hp movies. I do think it should have been longer though the ending feels too rushed.
This movie is underrated I will say, but for me my favorite film has to be Goblet of Fire. It had a great story with the whole tri-wizard tournament and its entire final act is probably the most pivotal moment in the franchise with the return of Voldemort.
Edie &Andy it’s been a while since I read any of the books so you guys might be right that it is a poor adaptation. Do you have any examples off the top of your head you can give me?
@@GoldenDragonXL it focusses more on the battles themselves and more action packed for the sake of it rather than everything else in between : -) I recognised this even as a kid, and only recently knew just how far off from the book its main central points were, compared to the rest. I’ve really come to appreciate how much you must have worked to learn about movie making, story telling, and analysis. I’m not stupid, depending on who you ask, but you have caught things that I didn’t. Nor do I think many others get as much as you do. Thanks for sharing this.
My favorite part was the final battle in the Department of Mysteries. I don’t know what I loved more though, the fact that they all stayed together and Harry risked the prophecy for his friends, Sirius “muggle punching” Lucious, the music with so much suspense and much more. I think they did a Fantastic job on the final battle and in fact gave it a round of applause
During the scene that Harry screams because Sirius died, radclifs grandmother had passed away a few days earlier. The reason they cut his screams was because they were so bitter and sad. I liked this change till I heard this sad story.
22:37 (๑•ᴗ•๑)♡ I always love the 5th movie series of Harry Potter. The balance, transition, drama, comedy everything that Order Of The Phoenix is in is completely interesting and brilliant
Of all the HP books, OoTP is the one I remember losing my mind over. I don’t remember exactly what happened the first time I watched the movie but I remember it was crappy TS video file but when the ministry fight came on, I.flipping.lost.me.mind. Even though I knew what would happen from the book, this movie was just too good. Sirius dying was a pretty sad moment in the book but when he falls into the veil and Harry loses it and is chasing Bellatrix through the halls, the background music goes off and it’s simply Harry lumbering along with 🎶 I killed Sirius Black, I killed Sirius Black🎶 booming through the silence. Man. This movie was an experience I will never forget.
Actualy the scene of Sirius death is muted because Radcliffe got so into character that he screamed so hard that they had to mute the scene. This scene was so emotive that Helena Bonham Carter and Emma Watson started crying.
Order of the Phoenix is my favorite book... I felt that there’s a lot of depth with the trauma and ptsd Harry is facing after what he’s faced. And I think the movie is close to identical to the book in this way but the acting and directing of some scenes made the movie surpass I feel too
Definitely one of my favourite movies in the franchise. And yes, the sound design! The patronus at the beginning of the movie when the dementors attack Harry & Dudley is probably my favourite patronus of all simply because of the immense sound design. The music build up... and camera work... Harry can’t reach his wand... what’s gonna happen... oh no... dun... dun... dunnn... then for a split second it goes completely silent and then.... EXPECTO PATRONUM! 👉🏼💨 BOOOOOOOOOOM! Honestly it was so satisfying lol 😅
Order is my second least favorite film in the series, ahead of only 7 part 1. And Solely because they butchered the prophecy. Never explains the importance its just brushed aside and barely mentioned going forward. We never hear it in its entirety nor do we get to see the emotion on Harry's face when he finds out that what he's holding is why his parents are dead. We never get to see Harry actually taunt Bellatrix about how she failed Voldemort because it got smashed. We are never told this is why while annoying Trelawney has a job. Also Harry never reacts beyond his attack on Bellatrix to Sirius' death. No trashing Dumbledore's office or blaming him, he's just instantly calm and we never really see it effect him that he lost the closest person alive to his parents
Yeah you learn so much as a reader from the conversation between Dumbledore and Harry at the end. However, a very long conversation like that doesn’t make for good screen time in an movie :/
19:35 Daniel Radcliffes screams was actaully silenced because it sounded "too heartbraking" Daniel Radcliffe was actually screaming because his Grandma passed away
I'm not as skilled as you, analizing books vs movies, but even though it's my favorit movie as well, it's also my favorit book. I was nine when I read it, so I had material for the intire summerbreak to read. I would neither) I just wanted to share why it's also my favorit book. Have a nice day, and great job making this video btw. I really enjoyed it! :)
The biggest thing I noticed while watching this video is how they filmed Harry. Keeping him isolated and the scenes dark, but in the end the scene is colorful and all of his friends are with him and he's no longer alone emotionally and physically. That was such a smart filming choice.
2:22 before you said this, I never thought anything big and meaningful behind it, just that he was bored/lonely. Never has it occurred to me that it was because he wanted a mother and that it was such a powerful moment (in your words, which I fully agree upon now that I know why they showed this)

I've looked for that scene unmuted, or quotes from other actors, but I've never been able to find anything that coroborated that post.
On the contrary, in a commentary David Yates stated that the 2 reasons why Harry's scream was muted was:
1)to pay homage to Al Pacino's character's famous cry in "The Godfather" Part 3, which is one of Mr Yate's favorites.
I'm starting to wonder if this is one of these anecdotes that sound so cool, people don't care anymore if they're true or not ^^'

I AM LUNA😎 no, but seriously my patronus is a hare and I'm in Ravenclaw 😅😄🐇💙🤗
Two of my favourite scenes is when Harry meets and hugs Sirius and when he speaks to him about him becoming like Voldemort. What makes these scenes great is that these moments aren’t even in the book. It’s actually brilliant that all the best moments and lines don’t come from the book.
Luna said what this film is about so perfectly: “If it’s just you alone, your not much of a threat”
I think that’s one of the most important lines and most real lines I’ve ever head not just for the series but for life itself.
I just talked about that line with my mom who’s not a HP reader or viewer and she appreciated the hell out of that just from a life perspective.
I just wish the movie showed Harry mourning
Sirius’ death more. They had a deleted scene that showed this, but sadly, they cut it even though the movie is the shortest of the franchise.
No the last one was the shortest as it was the second half of a book
It’s still long though. Two and a half hours.
It’s not the shortest no hate
They wanted to but it was too emotionally damaging, Emma and Hannah kept crying whenever he screams
They cut it but you can see Harry mourning in the opening of half blood Prince
But it cut the hospital scene with Neville’s parents 🙁
Yeah that sucked... but the movie would’ve been too long
Eh not necessary imo
Damn right
It would be great, but they cut the right things
@@Whokn6627 LOTR ROTK extended cut at 251 minutes: "no such thing"
i watched these all several times as a kid, but when going back to this film and noticing harry attempt to use the cruciatus curse on bellatrix is something i never noticed and was done so well in the film. it really shows how dark harry is becoming and how angry he is. in reality he doesnt have the strength to use it, but the fact that he attempts is insane
Also, to the main comment,
I absolutely think that's insane that he could perform both spells.
Just the “Dumbledore’s got style” line makes this the best film 🙌
“Nice one James!” oh. my. god. When Sirius died after that it made me cry so hard.
Well... If it makes you feel any better, he would see James (and my queen lilly) again straight after that...
Patricia .
My jaw dropped and I was like "No that can't be real..." ( I watched the movies first )
18:01 Adding to this scene, Voldemort does a kind of neck crick before he looks at Harry. Later on in the film, Harry does a similar neck crick when in his dormatory. He also does it after touching the Gaunt ring in Half-blood Prince. It's a kind of visual cue of the connection between Harry and Voldemort.
@Jon Bujupi Only very distantly. Most people in the real world are probably related to that extent as well.
He ALWAYS does that neck crick. Ok, not always but constantly...
@@emscastro8627 I’m pretty sure he only does it in The Order of the Phoenix.
@Kenjamin oh, thank you for telling me. I didn’t know that he did it in that scene. my comment was trying to bring light to the fact that he doesn’t CONSTANTLY do it, it’s more to signify his connection with Voldemort.
Whoof, I'd say it's a tie between this and Prisoner of Azkaban.
Lazarinth in my opinion is a tie between goblet of fire but everybody have diffrent opinion 😊😊😊
Chamber of secrets the most underrated
@@104copyTHAT YESSSSS IT LITTERALLY HAD EVERYTHING FROM THE BOOK (except the death day oarty but who tf cares)
The first two films are most accurate to the books thooooo
@@ailsa7471 Look at it this way, you could skip all of the Goblet of fire (the movie tho) except for the graveyard scene, and there would be no holes in the narrative. The whole film is watered down tournaments, which should be the setting of the story, not the story itself.
The whole Barty Crouch Jr. storyline which impacts the pointe of the film gets merely glanced at. The goblet of fire is an abomination of a film.
You know you should do more video essays your really good at it it’s really interesting the way you look at films
He should do one on half-blood prince. In my opinion all the best parts are missing from the movie or rushed.
Absolutely.
Landkrabben that’s a good I think he should do a video essay on how to fix the half blood prince because that’s mostly everyone’s least favorite
Agreed 👍
the battle between Voldemort and Dumbledore was so well done, my favourite fight scene
It wasn't long enough.
I do wish it was a little longer though
I actually think Daniel's best acting was watching Sirius die and his reaction to it. It penetrates my heart every time, its so hauntingly sad.
Had a lot to do with the close relationship between Dan and Gary Oldman.
Actually his grandmother had died that day and that scream was real
I just finished watching all 8 films for the first time in my life. I never watched Harry Potter in all 20 years I’ve been on this planet. Now that I watched them all, I feel like I missed out. Granted I was a couple months old when the first movie came out. It’s amazing, I wish I can rewatch all 8 films with no prior knowledge.
I've been reading the books and watching the films for 20+ years and I wish the same. 💜
Harry: “... we’ve got one thing that Voldemort doesn’t have.”
Me: a nose.
Lego Voldemort would like to have a talk with you.
Have you seen that before? I have
😂 😂 😂
How very original.
Voldy has a nose but not really
" now who wants see me take off snivelly's trousers?"

Oh wow
@Krisynthia Gomez not sure if I get tbh.
@Krisynthia Gomez Yeah yeah
@Krisynthia Gomez oh yeah I see. Makes sense
That swell in the score when Dumbledore Is telling Harry, how he and Voldermort are different always makes me cry.
Why I like the Order of the Phoenix: They finally got haircuts.

They all got haircut cuz in Goblet they were given long hair for a reason, since most actors were well above the age they were supposed to portraying, so the long hair was there to make them look younger.
@@bzq122 how does longer hair make you look younger?

I'll always admire Daniel's acting in Order of the Phoenix. He portrayed the isolated, angry and misunderstood protagonist that Harry became in book 5 so well. It says a lot, because personally I didn't like Harry's character in book 5 (far too whiny , having a go at Ron and Hermione for no fault of theirs), despite the ordeals and circumstances that make him like that. However it's Daniel's acting that made it so much more bearable
Sirius’s death is so painful, even now.
The fight scene between Voldemort and Dumbledore, especially when Voldemort breaks the glass is suchhhhh a powerful scene it chokes me up every time
That part where Voldemort broke the glass is so satisfying. Gives off the same energy as the seismic charge from Attack Of The Clones
Totally agreed. Fav film, not the fav book. Fav book is HBP.

My only complaint is they left out Harry's meltdown in Dumbledore's office. Otherwise, I love the movie.
i never knew you'd make me love this film even more
ps. luna introducing thestrals to harry is one of my favourite changes from the books and one of the best scenes in the series. the dialogue is just beautiful

Patrick Arrington where? I don’t remember reading it in the book
sai Indurthi the part were she sees her family dead.
Yeah, especially because it showed that she was also a super large mother figure to Harry
The reason it was cut because a whole entire set needed to be buily for that one scene.
@@novemberguy9 in Deathly Hallows 2 the Chamber of Secrets was nothing but green screen. Same could be done for St Mungos.

I wish there was Ron Hermione becoming prefect , Ron Ginny in quidditch and winning quidditch cup , DA coins , Neville visit his parents
Avani Jain I see what you men da coins were very important for communication and in the half blood prince.
Couldn’t agree more! Hermione was the smartest witch of her time it only makes sense for them to show that she became a prefect
You've made me appreciate the movie a bit more.
Even out of context, the "Sorry professor, I must not tell lies" bit still gives me chills.
100% agreed
Hey do you like a death eater with baby head
Wait, no mention about Imelda Staunton? Come on, she did a fantastic job.
Actually this movie has always been my least favorite movie in the series after The Chamber of Secrets.

When you said Grimmauld Place, The Caption showed Grim Old Place, which is exactly What J K Rowling had in mind!!!
I also loved how the movie does a really great job at bridging the generational gap btwn DA & Order of the Phoenix. Seeing the mirror of older & younger characters preparing for the war to come was awesome, wished the other films did that more.
I whish they would have shown everything they faced in the ministry
I don’t. It was all so confusing and time-wasting.
If they had this in the movies it would’ve take up time with just pointless stuff that never gets mentioned ever again in the movies.
And Ron riding the thestral.....unable to see it with his facial squirms.....missed the opportunity!!
I love the comedy in this movie. The scene where the trio is laughing together is honestly one of my favourites. It makes you feel like you’re there and laughing along with them. It’s a very heart warming scene, and it always puts a smile on my face
The “Better now, there about to be avenged” line would be the best line in the whole series if it was somehow incorporated in a DA meeting.
The 'nice one James' is such a small little line from Sirius, but it always breaks my heart. It was a great addition.

That is one of the reasons why this movie is great

This movie is underrated I will say, but for me my favorite film has to be Goblet of Fire. It had a great story with the whole tri-wizard tournament and its entire final act is probably the most pivotal moment in the franchise with the return of Voldemort.
GoldenDragonXL but that isn’t down to the film, the story is provided by the book. The film was not a good interpretation of the book

Harry: *being angry all the time*
Puberty: Hello Mr. Potter, ready for your turn?
Harry: NO
During the scene that Harry screams because Sirius died, radclifs grandmother had passed away a few days earlier. The reason they cut his screams was because they were so bitter and sad. I liked this change till I heard this sad story.
The only thing I wish they kept in was the scene with Neville’s parents but cut out Gilderoy Lockhart

How much times you read the books?
MovieFlame: yes
I'm not as skilled as you, analizing books vs movies, but even though it's my favorit movie as well, it's also my favorit book.
I was nine when I read it, so I had material for the intire summerbreak to read.
I remember laying in my bed, the sun shining through the window, and reading the scene where Harry is laying in the flower beds, and listening to the muggle news.
Had such a good time reading it, I loved the story and in genral, I just enjoyed every second of it.
You probably don't give crab, (which is understandeble btw. I would neither) I just wanted to share why it's also my favorit book.
Have a nice day, and great job making this video btw. I really enjoyed it! :)
16:36 That face Voldemort is making and Morgan says _"Voldemort goes inside Harry"_ was too much for me. 🤣
The newspapers montage works so well because the books do the same thing for exposition!

Me: Yes
The biggest thing I noticed while watching this video is how they filmed Harry. Keeping him isolated and the scenes dark, but in the end the scene is colorful and all of his friends are with him and he's no longer alone emotionally and physically. That was such a smart filming choice.
Dudley: Where is your mom potter
Me: Where's your IQ dudley
Thanos love this movie to because it is balance like all things should be
Movie voldemort is the first one who got snaped
Nice 2020
ultimata 👍🏾
2:22 before you said this, I never thought anything big and meaningful behind it, just that he was bored/lonely. Never has it occurred to me that it was because he wanted a mother and that it was such a powerful moment (in your words, which I fully agree upon now that I know why they showed this)
*"Ah, let's just forget that Sirius black died?"*
Order of the phoenix is my favorite movie and book. I just love the random Voldemort visions etc.
This is literally my Favorite Movie
