A truly beginner step aerobic workout. Others claim to be beginner but it’s not easy to follow the choreography. This one is so easy to follow and I worked up a good sweat!
I used to step aerobics 3x a week, when I was much younger. Am now 75 and have not done much in years and years. Got to about 35% this first time. Will keep on every day!
Just did this workout. I am pretty sedentary and I was able to keep up pretty well and do most steps (albeit not as gracefully). I have made it a goal to take better care of myself and these videos feel like an accessible and non-intimidating approach to building a regular exercise habit.
This is one of my go to workouts after injury or illness. Jenny has got me out of the darkest of depressions, step with Jenny is my goto feel good exercise. Her energy and PERFECT instructions timed to perfection is awesome. As an ex step teacher I don't think there is a step instructor better and more experienced than Jenny. X
I'm overweight and I went to the gym with a personal trainer before lockdown, UK. I have to say this video is so much better. Just completed this video now and I feel like I have achieved more. Really enjoyed it and the time flew over. Needless to say I'm not going to the gym when they reopen, I will be doing this in the comfort of my own home. Thank you Jenny Ford xx
I'm 62 and haven't done step aerobics in years. I pulled out my bench and here I am. Step has always been one of my favorites. This is especially helpful with the "shelter in place" in my city. Thank you!
What I love about this video: Her voice, her enthusiasm and her image. It's not forced, fake or unnatural. After an ankle injury (fracture), 6 weeks to heal, I struggled to run without pain. This video helped strengthen my foot as well as my knee so I could continue my long distance runs with little issue. Thank you.
How are you doing Ness? I hope u r fully recovered and 100% back to your usual program. I have had foot surgery on both feet within a month. Nd surgery was yesterday…..I am counting the days, 6 weeks so I can get back into workout. This great starting point!
@@jenniferbond7073 It's been a year, now... I still use the same 22 minute J.F.F. program just about every other day to keep me limber. I lost 28 pound (2 stone UK measurement) do to running and resistant training (no weights), I can run 10km with no problem. I usually run 25km a week. My advice: Don't push too hard after the 6 weeks but don't ever give up. Take it easy and be proud every day that you are doing a little bit better. Give yourself breaks to rest. Never beat yourself up/punish yourself for what cannot be done... Everything takes time. I wish you all the best. My foot is as strong as ever but the memory will be with me forever.
As a type 2 diabetic and a respiratory therapist, your routines are PERFECT and higly recommended! These excercises are just as important as the PPE when it comes to protecting your health. I trust the safety of your routines. Thank you and stay safe!!!!
I have pcos and chronic asthma and this is the first workout I've actually being been able to do!! I do this work out 3x a week and have done on and off for over a year. Today was my first time doing it where I didn't have to stop. Absolutely love these videos and you saying are you still smiling makes my day every day. ❤
My 1st step class in 30 odd years. Just been diagnosed with COPD and realised thatI need to do more than my usual 12-1500 steps a day. Had to have a 2 minute break about halfway through but I made it!! Sweating like the proverbial... This will be my go to for now. Thanks Jenny.
You are definitely my favourite to workout with Jenny (relaxed, not loud and in your face) I was doing ok until that little hop on the step towards the end, I completely lost what rhythm I had!! Much to the delight of my children.
I been using this workout along with dieting for the last three months and have dropped 20lbs. Can’t thank you enough! Hope this helps someone else who is ready to change their life. You can do it!
I used to work out almost daily and then had a very significant death in my family and didn't exercise for almost a year. I'm just getting back into it, and your step workouts have been amazing! I think I've found my new favourite cardio that I actually feel MOTIVATED to do! Thank you for your videos!
Tina so glad you listened to your body and took some time to heal. Grief is such a burden to bear. We have had significant loss in our family as well. I’m currently at my heaviest weight l’ve ever experienced. Self compassion is so important. Welcome back. Welcome anytime.
This was the PERFECT workout to get me started back exercising. I usually start a video and don't finish it, then get discouraged and quit trying. I finished the whole workout and feel great. Even getting over a knee injury. THANK YOU!
love, love, love! I'm an advanced stepper, but this got me moving on a day I did not feel energized. Thank you so much! This is perfect for those who have never stepped before.
I died three times during the workout. I am in suuuuch bad shape, I can’t even complete this workout. Actually typing during a break. But I shall not quit! Haha
@ORVet thank you so much for the suggestion of changing the playback speed!! I never would have thought of it, and it helped me so much. Thank you!!!!!
This was so me when I first started doing her work outs 11 months ago. I would do 5 minutes at a time pause and play when I could. I can do this whole workout all the way through.
First time step class in 2022. Subscribed and hope to keep up with more classes. This is my year to get fit. I let myself go in the past year. Taking my life back!!!
This is one of my favourites, just love how hard it makes me work even without the more tricky combos, I often do it before or after one of you other step workouts to make up an hour or so, or just by itself when I don't have much time. A big thank you to you and your team, I just got my 5stone (70lb) los,t certicate at my slimming group last night,..couldn't have done it without your workouts, and your sunshining smile, which made me keep going even when I was struggling. xxx

I am working my way through your basic routines, getting back into the rhythm and physical shape. I am almost 60 and I can do these exercises. Thank you,
This is great! I just did 7 mins at 3/4 time as little work break. I'll do at least one more before I'm done my work. Starting slow to keep myself motivated at my low fitness level. My brain is awake again now back to work.
Thank you!!! New Mommy here trying to get back into shape! between the little time I have and to how out of shape I am in I was panting like a hot dog in summer. Thank you so much for taking the time to do this!
Jenny this video was like coming home to a loving hug after a bad day! I needed this so bad. was feeling like crap when starting but now I am all sweaty smiles.😁
Just what I needed before work and had no time!!! Perfect. Back in the day when Jane Fonda had her step workout VHS, I was in the best shape of my life! I hope to find more of these. Thank you Jenny!
My friend and I love it. Enjoy the automatic adjustable angles. Feels very stable and safe. Picked the wider tract. Loved the price on it. Great for our new year resolution to exercise more.
Whew! As much fun as this was, I could not get through the whole thing on the first time. I made it to about 70% though, which I think is great for the first time doing this workout. I did do the cool down at the end.
I did youre workout without the bench but with 1 pound dumbbell in my hands all the time. Bicep curl, lateral raise, front raise. A complete workout for me! Thank you Jenny!
Just had my board delivered due to the lockdown and went on line to find a easy intro.... This was perfect, I have had a knee replacement and so have to be so careful, love the way that you explain in easy phrases and make us feel as if we are in the room with you. Well done
I do this workout everyday.. I never used to sweat crazy before..but after this workout i sweat ALOT. THANKS JENNY this has helped me alot..i look forward to this workout everyday..:)
I love your videos, Jenny!!! I am trying to get back into working out and this is just what i needed. I love the ~20 minute ones for a quick workout a beginner like me can do. Especially with the timer. I am so glad I discovered Jenny Ford! Thank you, Jenny!!!!
Hi Jenny. I LOVE this workout. I did one of your 30 minute beginner routines for a while, but then two things happened. 1. Got a calf strain (unrelated to step!) and took some weeks off to heal; during that time 2. My 2.5yo has decided that his naps need not be longer than about 40 mins. 40 mins to do a step routine, shower, eat lunch, clean up .... no chance! At the moment, this shorter routine fits my lifestyle much better. It is still a great workout, I get to shower, I get to eat. So glad I found you Jenny :)
I used to love to exercise when I was younger and do step aerobics everyday! Now that I am older I am just not motivated anymore but I know I have to get up and move. Thanks for your beginner 20 minute workout, gets me motivated to do more!
hi, im back for another workout. 50 y/o male here. back in the late 80's i had a girlfriend who did step workouts, i would crack on her. so she said give it a try. needless to say i didnt make in 15 min into the workout. although im not keeping up with you. i was 277 lbs in nov. currently 220ish just by doing a casual keto diet. hoping this me to drop more weight. thanks for the content. your awesome !!!
For the first time since I started step aerobics, I ACTUALLY MADE IT THRU A WORKOUT! I modified it occasionally, but I finished it. Thank you! What a confidence booster!
OMG! I absolutely LOVED this workout! I forgot how much I love step aerobics! I tried some others, but none were as easy to follow along with! Thank you!
I love it, as expected! Short and sweet, but not easy! After taking a month off of working out due to kidney stones, I can't do a full 45/50 minute step workout yet. So, this was great!!! And still killed me!!!
This is my absolute favorite work out video to do at home! You sweat, it's simple, but not as simple, but you feel and see results. I've been going to the gym and gaining weight. I've started doing this workout and I have lost weight. I think I needed more intense cardio.
The last time I did a step workout was 25 years ago. You made an easy video to follow. Thank you Jenny Ford for helping me to enjoy the step workouts again. Yes, I subscribed to your channel!
Just did this workout for the first time. I am using my bottom step but only for basics. The other moves I do on the floor. I haven't done step exercise for 30 years 😅😅 at 64, I feel great!
Loving all your videos, I cleaned out my garage, put an old TV, mats and an existing step out there and I do RUclips or march accross America nearly every day. Love it and about the closest I'll get to America for a while now I'm sure! (From Aberdeenshire, Scotland) Keep well x
Thank you! I'm still getting down the moves, but I do this routine 3 times a week. It is kicking my butt, but I'm sticking with it! The timer on the screen really helps. Jenny Ford, you are awesome!
Time to bring my step out of the wardrobe, dust it off and get back into it. It can be really hard for those of us who are not coordinated to advance beyond beginner BUT you are still the best step coach Ive seen 😀
Love this workout! Not too hard not too easy, but easy to follow unlike any other step workouts I have tried, I work up a good sweat and get a good heart rate going but don’t feel like I’m going to die lol. Thank you Jenny! I’ll be back for this every day 😁🥵😀
I really like both the length and the format of this workout. Anything past a very basic combo and I get frustrated and end up spending my energy trying to follow the combo instead of enjoying getting my sweat on. I far prefer just cycling through some straight forward but varied moves like this one at a time. Great workout as always, Thanks, Jenny!
Coming to you from over the pond.. Thank you jenny you have been a life saver With all my classes closed due to covid 19 I needed something to do.. And 20 minute twice a day is perfect for me.. Cheers from the UK
Thanks Jenny for this great beginner step workout. I used to do lots of step workouts on a high step but that was years ago. Now that I am a little older, I use a low step and I can only do basic steps. This one was just perfect!
Fantastic Jenny, had glute injury 7wks ago came across this gentle step and feel I am coming back to normal 😍 I usually do ur extensive one s. Hugh tks Bernadette
I used to step in High school. I bought a step a like 10 years ago and wanted to do it again because I really enjoyed. my activity level have been really low for a while...and most of the steps stating beginners were highly complicated and discouraging as I couldn't follow or keep up. I found one of your videos and decided to try. You're doing a great job. My step is a rebook and even at the lowest level still too much. I did the first half on the steps and second on the floor. i will coming back eventually to do all on the steps and move on to your other videos. Long post, but thank you and you're doing a great job!
Bought a stepper on a whim but was nervous to get back on it, I hadn’t done a step class in more than 15 years but this was accessible but also challenging. The stepper I bought is smaller than the OG one you have, I prefer the bigger one, but the muscle memory started to come back in just my first try. Looking forward to doing more of your videos. Thank you 🥰
Hi Jenny, I just started this workout and I really liked the workout. I was sweating up a storm that tells me that I am burning some fat and I’m working the muscles. This workout is for me. Thank you Jenny 😌 Patty
I thought like this is gonna be easy, but let me tell you. This workout kicked my ass and I love it. My lower body is saying "thank you I needed that". I am sure but it hit me in all the right places. Thank you Jenny I am so grateful for your workout.
This is the first time that I have done step aerobics in YEARS. It was my alternative to going to the gym today. I was able to finish and must admit that I miss it. I will subscribe to your channel.

I agree! I thought I was gonna die! But the video stopped just in time …so glad 😊
I have chronic asthma and I managed to do this. maybe not as fast as you. but I did it. feeling proud

Thank you! I'm still getting down the moves, but I do this routine 3 times a week. It is kicking my butt, but I'm sticking with it! The timer on the screen really helps. Jenny Ford, you are awesome!
It was a great work out, it was so easy to follow along.
Time to bring my step out of the wardrobe, dust it off and get back into it. It can be really hard for those of us who are not coordinated to advance beyond beginner BUT you are still the best step coach Ive seen 😀
Loved it Jenny!! I’m just returning to step now since I can’t run anymore at age 44 but I need more than brisk walking.
Thank you jenny you have been a life saver
With all my classes closed due to covid 19 I needed something to do.. And 20 minute twice a day is perfect for me.. Cheers from the UK
Thanks Jenny for this great beginner step workout. I used to do lots of step workouts on a high step but that was years ago. Now that I am a little older, I use a low step and I can only do basic steps. This one was just perfect!
Thanks. The exercise was amazing ❤🤗👏🏽
I'm doing it now and I'm pausing for water and breathing but get right back to it!! Thank you for this beginner workout
Bought myself an aerobic stepper on the strength of this video and then done it for the first time today. Sweated like a dog but happy to finish it.
Fantastic Jenny, had glute injury 7wks ago came across this gentle step and feel I am coming back to normal 😍 I usually do ur extensive one s. Hugh tks Bernadette
Thank you! You are amazing ☀
Thank you 🥰
Excellent! Thank you.
I love this short workout, it gets that bit harder at just the right time, thanks Jenny.
As a pts, I try very effective and knee friendly ❤
I love this one for warming up my body before doing weights! I love all your videos!
Just did this workout , pleases keep the basic ones comng
Thanks Mary! I will for sure!
